Lavalight was a nocturnal creature. She absolutely detested the day. The sun was the bane of her existence. The moon was her goddess. So it was rather unusual to find her out midday. The sun hung high in the sky at the peak of the arc. Lavalight squinted and licked her dry lips. "ugh" her head felt dizzy and was it just her or was the sun actually making a high pitch ringing noise? Whatever it was it was giving her a headache and not making her situation any better. Not only did she hate being out during the day, but she was dead tired. Her body was used to being fast asleep at this time and there she was up on all fours.

So why you may ask, was this nocturnal bat up during the day, what could have been of such importance that she remained awake to this hour? Well.. honestly nothing. Lavalight had been so tired of a routine, one that limited her interactions. Most shops and most races were up during the day so her nocturnal way of life was getting boring, monotonous, and frankly just plain lonely. She thought that maybe staying up during the day would fix this.

So far though it had been nothing but disorienting. She had yet to see another living soul and everything looked so different. She was having a hard time admittedly finding her bearings. At night the path to the town was so clear, she hadn't realized there were this many forks in the road. She was pretty sure she was heading toward town but for all, she knew she could be wandering up to the mountains or someplace she had never been.

It was pretty clear she was miserable, dead tired, and lost. At this point, she was desperate for some water but also for some directions. Was that a pony off in the distance? She held her hoof above her eye trying to bock out the sun to see clearer. She fluttered her wings excitedly, finally, she would not be alone and maybe they'd get her on the right track. She picked up her pace and headed off in that direction.

"Hey, friend!" She called out as she closed in on them. Her wings stopped fluttering, and her pace slowed down to a stop as she realized that what she had thought was a pony was actually a scarecrow at the edge of a field. Her face fell in disappointment and her head hung low. "I'm going to DIE out here" she whined as she looked up at the scarecrow defeated. There was no reason to stay here, there wasn't a river or pool in sight.

So she continued on her way, dow nthe road completely lost. She hoped that she would find someone to help her or maybe she would just wander her way into a town. Afterall she was bound to run into something eventually. She had to, the road couldn't just go on forever.. could it.
