Laven stirred from her dreamless slumber and, like a cat, rolled over to stretch, pulling from her small noises until she finally sat up and rubbed the sleep from her eyes.

“Didn’t realize I was that tired…” Reaching for her tablet to check the time and, despite knowing that it was likely too soon, she opened her inbox to see if any messages were received. “Mmmm… nothing yet. It’ll probably take a week or so I’m guessing.” For as large as the Negaverse was, she assumed that there was probably a long queue assuming the application didn’t get lost or that she didn’t hit cancel, or close, by mistake.

At that thought, Laven opened her sent box to confirm that the glamour research request had indeed been sent.

Oh, thank God. Ok, it is there.

With her mind now put at ease, she opened the communications app on her tablet that had only been used so far to contact her Captain, Lopezite. However, this time, she had someone else she needed to speak with.

“Tinaksite? Are you available by chance?” Even though they were friends, Laven still sounded hesitant when speaking into the purple gem. It was a selfish thing she wanted to ask for but it was for Kat's benefit as well as long as it was ok.

On a normal day, no, Tinaksite would not have been available but today, as she had made cinnamon rolls, intending to deliver them to Laven for herself and Wolframite, she was able to receive the communication, and she nearly jumped with surprise as she heard the words.

…She didn’t…have to actually…answer did she? Not when she was right outside of her friend’s door…

So the captain knocked lightly instead. “I am available.” She said in a voice she hoped would carry into the room.

“…I have cinnamon rolls. May I open the door?”

It was some kind of a twist of fate that she was being asked for when she was already there, and she couldn’t quite stop the broad smile from spreading across her face at the very idea. Her friend was thinking about her…first thing in the morning! This had to mean that they would be friends forever, right?

Unless she just needed a ride to the city…but even then…she’d rather be used than be friendless.

“Huh?” With a puzzled expression, Laven turned around towards her door. “Oh… OH! Yes, yes come in.”

Scrambling to the door she nearly whacked her knee on Wolframite’s side of the bed when she tried to skirt around the edge of it. The room itself definitely looked… different than it did the last time she visited. About half her belongings were still there but there were a few key pieces of furniture definitely missing.

“I’m sorry for the mess. Had I’d know you were going to stop by I would have straightened up a bit.” At the very least got the laundry taken care of and bed made. But at least it was a lot cleaner than his room. While hers was primarily just for sleeping or reading, Wolframite’s room had become more of a crafting or entertainment area. “I’m glad to see you, is everything ok?”

The captain nodded, her golden eyes traveling slowly around the room, a little confused by the changes that had been made. “Mm? I am okay. You are the one calling me this morning…are you okay?” It was a fair question, she was sure, and she finally looked back at her friend and held out the still warm container with the cinnamon rolls packed inside. “I made these for you. Breakfast. We were thinking of each other?”

There was the smallest hint of glee in her voice. It was a happy coincidence and she was more than ready to exploit it.

“What do you need, Laven? I am here to help. I can do whatever!” And they could hang out. Maybe they could go shopping or something…before the malls got crazy, before everything got crazy.

Tinaksite wanted to pick up some candles if she could remember to do so. She always did like the way that the flames moved in the darkness.

Laven ushered her friend inside then shut the door behind her.

The smell of cinnamon followed Tinaksite through the room filling the air with the warm sugary scent. “Those smell delicious!” her stomach growled hungrily. “Wolframite is going to feel sad he missed out on these.” He had a thing for cookies, except ones with macadamia nuts in them, and seemed to like the mini pies she bought last October, so chances are he would have loved the cinnamon rolls too especially since they were homemade and still warm, fresh from the oven.

Moving the furs to the side Laven sat on the bed and patted the open spot beside her. “I know it is kind of a forward thing to ask but…” her hands began fidgeting with the edge of the blanket. “I was wondering if I could ask you a favor.” They had only been friends for a little over a month so asking something of this caliber was kind of a big deal.

Tina sat down on the edge of the bed, raising her brows in some confusion and perhaps a little alarm. “He can come and join us if you would like. I have enough to share with him too…” She glanced around the room once again, trying to figure out why it was so different now. The rooms down here were just so small, and she was quite glad that she didn’t have to just stay down here all the time…it wouldn’t be very fun.

“…What favor do you ask? Ask it and I will do it.”

She would, Tinaksite knew that she would do whatever was asked of her, no matter how difficult it might be. “We are friends. Friends help with everything.” Wasn’t that why she visited as often as she could with food? She thought so. She hoped so.

“What do you need?” Her gaze turned back to the half youma at her side and she couldn’t stop a small smile from crossing her face.

With her tablet still out, she sent Wolframite a quick message.

If you’re free this morning, Tinaksite brought some fresh cinnamon rolls for all of us to share. We’re in our bedroom if you’re hungry. ♥

After reaching out to him with an invite she turned her attention back to Tina and again that knot of nervousness returned, sealing in that swarm of butterflies that were trying to escape. “I was wondering if you have plans this Thanksgiving.”

“There are several people, yourself included, that I am very thankful for and would kind of like to the holiday with and plan a meal for everyone but…” Laven glanced around at the small kitchen-less space with a grimace. “Our rooms can’t really fit many people and we don’t really have access to a kitchen here unless I get permission to use the cafeteria.” But then it would feel more like a school luncheon rather than a warm gettogether with the family they chose for themselves, and friends.

“I was kind of hoping since you also enjoy cooking that maybe the three of us could… you know...” Feeling foolish for asking she winced at her inability to finish her question and just looked at Tina helplessly hoping she’d get her train of thought.

The captain frowned slightly, growing more and more nervous as she waited for Laven to ask her question, watching as she fiddled with her tablet before finally putting it down and asking what she wanted.

It was nothing that she expected and for a moment she couldn’t quite…figure out what to say.

“…You want Thanksgiving with me? To cook at my apartment?” She would be more than willing to have dinner ready for them all, more than willing to cook a feast for her friend, after all, it wouldn’t be the first time she had done so but…

Tinaksite hesitated. “…The three of us? Who is the three?” She assumed the Wolf but…but wasn’t completely sure. That and the fact that hadn’t Laven said that she only had a few hours to stay in an unpowered form?

“…I can cook, you do not have to worry, you can not stay for long, correct? I can cook, and we three can eat? Or…how many people?” She didn’t know many people in the Negaverse, and for a moment, wasn’t sure who all would be coming.

…But maybe Pirate would be there. She did miss him.

“…Of course you may come. We are friends.”

Wolframite was not that busy. He had gone into to drop off a few reports to his general and return a book he borrowed from a lieutenant in the Infirmary before they went to work up top. Having already had a very quick breakfast, he had left Laven alone to do whatever she needed or wanted before expecting to see her later to meet for lunch. The text was surprising this early in the day, and so he checked it with a curious surprise to see one very appealing set of words.

Cinnamon rolls.

Attention and ears perked, he didn’t even bother walking. Cinnamon rolls could wind up getting cold quickly and he didn’t want to miss out.

In a instant, the Captain was teleported straight into their room which was kind of startling considering teleporting never came with any sound. Someone was there one moment and gone the next and vice verse.

Looking about just to focus himself, he looked down at the two ladies sitting on his bed. “Morning.” He said to them, trying to be polite without immediately asking for the treats he was offered.

“Got your text. Morning Tinkasite.”
PostPosted: Sun Dec 08, 2019 7:53 pm

“Goodness.” Laven gasped, glad she didn’t have anything in hand when he suddenly appeared. Apparently, with the proper motivation, he could be more exact with his teleport rather than outside the building or in the hallway like last time.

“Good Morning,” Scooting back, more towards the wall, she made room for him to sit on the bed too so he didn’t have to stand around. “I take it you were hungry,” A smile tugged the corner of her lips into an amused grin.

“We were just discussing Thanksgiving,” Laven moved the plate so it sat in the center of the three of them. “It would be the three of us cooking,” she glanced at Wolframite for a moment, “assuming you’re still interested.”

“If it’s ok, I’d like to invite my Captian, Lopezite, over if that’s ok. I don’t know if there is anyone you might want to bring.” Up until now, she had never met his General, or Captain, to be honest, she hadn’t really met any of his friends. Something worth bringing up later perhaps. “As for the whole glamour thing…” Laven fell silent for a moment, glancing between the two her gaze settled on the cinnamon rolls between them.

“I may have put in a request to see if there was any research being done to extend the whole glamour thing.” She reached forward and pick one with copious amounts of frosting just coating the side of it and took a bite. Clearly, she hadn’t talked that over with anyone and worried that it was a bad idea and should recall the message back and just forget about it.

Tinaksite stiffened when the other half youma appeared in the room, and for a moment, her first reaction was again to attack him, to protect Laven at whatever cost, but she didn’t move, only twitched a little and then forced herself to relax. “…It is morning, yes. You have come for the cinnamon rolls?” She was pleased that she kept whatever disappointment was in her mind out of her voice.

Finally she turned her attention back to the blue haired half youma, trying to process all of the information and keep up to speed with everything. “…How many would come over?”

She would have to figure out where they would all sit…and maybe even get some extra chairs for the table…providing they all fit at the table.
It was only a one bedroom apartment, after all.

“If you can not…stay…human? I can cook alone. It is no bother. I like to cook.” And with that, Tinaksite gestured at the cinnamon rolls as though to prove her point.

"When the cafeteria actually bothers to make desserts that aren't jello a d pudding cups, then maybe I'd be less inclind to pop up. Until then.."

He moved to sit on the bed, tail wagging as he considered Laven's friend. He hadn't really spoken to Tinkasite aside from that horrible night back in October and considering it wasn't his best moment, it felt a bit awkward. A big part of him wanted to redeem himself and mend his pride a bit.

"It's nice to see you again. Especially without the whole world on fire. Thank you for bringing these. They smell great." Even if she oeoba my made them for Laven, but he wasn't about to pass up the fee times desserts came rolling though their doorstep. Picking one up with his claws almost had him I'm.ediarely dropping them, and he realized that frosting and fur was not going to work. With a quick shimmer of his body, the half-youma changed to a rather unassuming young man with green eyes and lacking all the monster features.

Winter licked the side of his palm where some of the frosting fell from where he caught the cinnamon roll and started to eat.

"I don't see Faustite coming. He isn't much the type." They talked and had gotten personal a few times, but the officer had been much busier and had been away for some time. Aside from giving him reports, he was left to preform his duties and work with far less attention as before. If he wasn't dating now, it might have hurt him more.

"I have no one to bring." He said, not caring too much about his lack of a friend base. It just kind of happened when you were a half-youma. He might have asked Lori but she'd probably be home with her brother.

Then he thought of Cavansite at her office. He wasn't sure what her ho e life was but it seemed troubling. Maybe so much that she might not e joy Thanksgiving with anyone.

"Wait. I could ask Cavansite. She is kind." He pointed out. "Not sure if she'll say yes but I do enjoy her company."

Laven's question seemed sound. "Worth a shot. The Mauvians might know a work around."

He pulled off a layer and popped it into his mouth. "These are really good. You made these?"

“I might need to ask one of you to take me out to collect some extra energy just in case. My application was kind of short notice so I doubt I’ll hear back in time for Thursday.” She hoped to get a reply sooner but it’s the start of the holiday season and a lot of people were busy this week.

She uncoiled part of the cinnamon roll and took another bite. “Yumm,” Laven all but purred, licking the delicious sugar off her claws.

However, with Wolframite mentioned the name of another officer and that he enjoyed her company, Laven felt a pang of jealously. Not because this Cavansite was another woman but more so that it was news to her as this was the first time she had heard him talk about someone other than Mali or Faustite in a long while.

Tinaksite didn’t know any of the names that were mentioned and she simply gave a small nod, her expression as neutral as she could make it. She didn’t really like strangers, and while she wanted friends, the idea of a lot of people in her small apartment wasn’t…appealing. And the more she thought about it, the less appealing it became but there was no way she would be able to let Lavendulan down.

“Yes. Invite who you wish. Nice is best, though. I do like nice…but I can cook.”

She watched as the wolf boy turned into a normal boy and her golden eyes narrowed slightly. What great magic these two had. To be strange half monster creatures one moment…and normal people the next.

The Negaverse was such a strange place, and she was sure that she would never really even begin to understand any of it. Ever.

“…I am glad you like the food. Wolf man. Are you better? How is your head?” There was still a little guilt that she carried from hitting him…not much. But enough that she remembered her rash decisions now.

He went to tear off another piece of the sweet roll. "It's Wolframite. Or Winter when I look human. Wolf man makes me sound like a werewolf." He said as he chewed on another piece.

"My head is fine. Not the first or last time I'll be knocked over on the head. At least you didn't stab me. Then I might be upset." He smiled at her, trying to show it was all in good fun.

"I like that you care so much about Laven. It's nice to have someone else looking out for her. The bigger the arsenal to keep her safe." To this he looked over at Laven and smiled in a snarky way.

"I can't cook but I can help with the cleaning and anything you need gathered. I don't wanna put this all on you. I appreciate the help." He said as he finished his roll in one last bite.

"Energy gathering should be enough. If they demand even more due to the request, we can gather a starseed or two. They can't complain about that." As they were always in demand, though that was a lesson he had yet to see Laven do.
