History of the Herd

The Silver Glade herd was never the peaceful herd in its war torn past. Oberon's own father tore across the dream space conquering lands in the name of his own people. Killing many that stood within his way, he didn't seem to care if they were innocent. His war came to an abrupt end when his own son, Oberon, stood between his father and his war path. While Oberon would soon take up his father's own mantel, he vowed on his father's dying light that he would do it for the safety of their people not for the greed of owning the most land.

Oberon took what warriors that were left, those who were willing to end the bloodshed and returned to the misty mountains that was home. Along the way Oberon hunted, gathered and other smaller tasks to try and rectify his father's misdeeds. While he was chased off by many, others took his help with gratitude . But was this to last? Upon becoming king, his own father's bloodied crown discarded on the last battlefield, Oberon refused to even touch it. No, he wouldn't bare a symbol only show it in his night and authority. There were many years of prosperity for the Silver Glade with the thick mists to shroud them from sight.

It was only when the shroud started to thin did Oberon's guard notice an Army at its edges, the large armed stars stood as if they were expecting more. This Army lead by the leader of another herd advanced on the Silver Glade and towards its inner sectors, warriors striking down those that weren't fast enough to get out of their way. Rage filled Oberon's heart as his people were treated like those his father took over. No, his home would not fall, though it seemed Ironic. Only an age ago his own father did the same thing. Calling to his guard and taking up his father's spear, Oberon left the safety of his palace to meet this threat head on.

After a week of fighting inside and outside the forest, Oberon had driven off the invaders but not without losing most of his own. Bloodied and exhausted, Oberon turned to lay those who perished to rest. By now the shroud had risen once more hiding the herd lands from the world, but it didn't hide the fire that burned within the Arion King.

Layout of the Herd lands

Silver Glade has a tiered layout. Each tier Housing a part of the Kingdom, these tiers do not reflect how 'wealthy' someone is.

First Tier; Palace Level
This is where the King and his children live. The peak of the mountain that they live upon and the place where those beneath seek council and protection should invaders make it past the first three tiers and the many knights between.

Second Tier; Common housing and Housing of the King's Guards
Oberon's placement of the housing for the bulk of his kingdom here is to keep them safe. Not wanting his herd to be decimated like times of old, He had placed them in the safest possible place. The King's Guard is also here to be the second line of defense to the herd and Palace.

Third Tier; Artisan's Tier
Here you will find those of Craft, the center piece being the Blacksmiths Pavilion. Other smaller areas can be set up around the edges of the Smithies for other crafts. At each side of the Pavilion are the Herb gardens to the left side. The Right hosts lands for vegetable and Fruit gardens. Placed here as the heat for the forges can be used to keep the area warm enough to grow in winter.

Fourth Tier; Market Square and Knights' training/Housing
Last Tier of the mountain, ground level and backed by a small waterway to one side for incoming and outgoing goods. The market square is settled near the docks and around the edge to have as much open space as possible. One the other end of the square is a Knights grounds. Training grounds for squires and full knights, their housing is here too. The first signs of danger, squires are sent as messengers to warn the people as the knights make up the first line of defense.

All tiers are connected by many paths and roads. Some winding through the trees, the main is cut pretty well through the center and leads straight to the Palace tier. The trees around the base tier have grown thick with help of those with green hooves for plants. The mists also act like a wall, one a star has trouble seeing through and is best avoided until the time of the solstice when the mists thin and part...

Ranks

Sovereigns
These are the herd leaders, the ones that have say in disputes and give justice when its needed.

Prince(ss)
Children of the sovereigns.

Hand of the King
Kind of a stand in when the royals have stepped out.
(Male Persona only please.)

Queen's Lady
Same kind of thing as Hand of the King, only this will be a fill in for the Queen.
(Mares Only please)

Septa
This rank would also be considered a 'nanny'. Septas look after the children, royal or common born.
(Both genders can apply, but commonly held by females)

Maester
These are the healers, with the knowing of herbs and healing ways be it with a uni's horn or not.
(Both genders can apply for this.)

King's Guard
As the name suggests, they guard the king and are seen more 'in court' then other knights.
(Both Genders accepted)

Knights
The defenders of the herd, they range the boarders and keep the peace. Those of this rank don't shy away from a cry of help be it a herd member or stranger.
(Knights are commonly males, but both are allowed)

These are commonly taken up by those of lower ranks.

Blacksmithing
The making of arms and armor, also basic tools for others in other professions

Farmers
The care takers of the fields and growing of many different food stuffs for the herd and trade

Herbalists
The caretakers of special herb gardens for potions, ointments and other such things

Merchants
Those that travel from the herd to other lands to trade goods for resources and exotic items.

Commoners
These are the stars that find they don't want a higher rank then just 'general Member'.
