Name: February Bloom
Nickname: Ru/Valentine/Val
Gender/Pronoun: She/Her
Age: 30
Birthday: February 22, 1989
Sign: Pisces
Gemstone: Amethyst
Blood Type: O
Fav. Food: Toast, golden brown and smothered in butter.
Hated Food: Baby Potatoes, there's something about them that tastes off.
School/Occupation: Vet
Hobbies:
Knitting Something she discovered by accident, she now can't help but pick up good quality yarn in craft stores when she spots it. She tends to make little jumpers for the animals who go through surgery and require additional protection. She can however create jumpers, scarves and hats upon request.
Pinball Machines Have you ever seen those people who have their tongue protruding and their expressions set? More importantly, have they ever gone the whole way and adopted the 'gaming' stance to ensure the best possible access to all necessary buttons? Well, that would be February. She's got a thing for pinball machines and she'll be damned if anyone has the high score other than her. Oddly, she's only interested in these particular machines and as no real interest in any other arcade game.
Swimming It's a great way to work out and really gentle on the muscles, she'd be silly not to participate. She'll look great for only a fraction of the pain!
Virtues:
Gregarious February is a social butterfly and enjoys to be around others whether they're people or animals. Given she's particularly comfortable in these environments whether it's strangers or friends, she can slip into an event and present herself with ease. More importantly, this also allows her to direct conversations and bring comfort to others as she's keen to involves them in her conversations... Even those who may not want to be involved, or simply need time to acclimate to their surroundings.
If you need someone to talk your product, service or business up she's a good one to have on your arm... or alternatively, she's just a good resource for making people feel at home in a public space!
Charitable Though it largely features in the above social settings, while in her immediate presence February wants the best for everyone and will generally do her best to ensure they achieve it. She's encouraging, prepared to donate her time, and willing to assist in the moment. Unfortunately this very much exists as a 'in the moment' quality and seems to vanish once she leaves the person's company! (See Flaws; Scatter-Brained)
Imaginative For every problem there's a solution, regardless of how eccentric or off the wall it might be. February may not always have a practical solution but she'll certainly come up with something. Some of these may work by sheer fluke, while others will go down in flames. Whether it's a physical 'thing', or simply a shred of advice, she'll have something up her sleeve and it might not be what you might expect.
Capable There is very little in the world that will trip February up; that isn't to say that she's a genius, more that she simply rolls with the punches. If you need her to do something regardless of how bizarre or challenging it might seem, she's likely to accept and make a good go of it. More often than not she can grasp the more complex challenges and will perform above average in most cases - After all, just because she seems scatterbrained doesn't mean that she isn't smart!
For anything less complex, she'll still give as much enthusiasm and supply much the same results i.e. worst case scenario it'll function, best case scenario it'll go supremely well.
She can be relied upon as one of those individuals you call when you just need an extra body, you don't need them to be perfect, they just need to be able to follow an instruction or three!
Flaws:
Scatter-brained Existing in the moment, February is very engaged when she's around someone, but the moment she leaves their presence she tends to forget anything nuanced. When she's on her own or she's left to her own devices the world tends to revolve around her and her alone.
While she'll be emotionally invested and fully behind something when in its presence, she isn't one to dwell when it comes to an end or she has to leave to attend to other responsibilities. In essence she's very good at leaving her work (or even outside issues) where she left them as opposed to bringing them home and dwelling on them.
Unfortunately this does mean that she can come across as inattentive and fickle. It isn't that she doesn't care about others, she very much does, it's just that it doesn't enter her mind unless it's directly in front of her.
Flirtatious February is aware that she's attractive and as a consequence, she has no issue batting her eyelashes if it'll help to get her something she wants e.g. forgiveness over a traffic stop. However, though it isn't her intention to be malicious she doesn't really know when to stop. Her social cues are off and her awareness is severely lacking in regards to how those on the receiving end may be responding to her charms. She'll end up leading people on, hot and cold until the mixed signals do more harm than good (and then take it personally if called out).
Emotionally Non-Committal For want of a better explanation, February prefers not to invest herself emotionally in others. She's more than happy to invest in her own well-being, but the moment it has to involve someone for the long term she's likely to flee. She isn't inclined to confirm (or deny) her inclinations to another, preferring instead to keep all relationships playful and cordial. While this is most noticeable in any type of romantic advance towards her, it can also be seen towards her own family where, to this day, she still has very little knowledge of what has transpired since she left.
Friendships for February are also likely to be fairly superficial and shallow, she's happy to organise meet and greets or gatherings, but allowing herself to get too close to them (and therefore involved in their dramas) is something she tends to remove herself from. Keep the conversation positive and light and she'll stick around; transforming the conversation into something deeper or difficult on a long term basis is likely to chase her off.
For someone who thrives on positive reinforcement this works in the short-term, but depreciates overtime around those who should be most important to her.
Work is the only place in which she gives everything to; this is in part due to the fact that she can control almost every element. This is likely to be one of the few times she allows herself to be emotionally vulnerable; after all, while she can control the business elements...nature can be a cruel mistress.
Commitment on this emotional level is something she fears due to how unpredictable and painful it can be.
Sensitive Though February is well meaning and considerate on the whole, her inability to invest emotionally in things that do not involve her can often lead to criticism. Given that she feels she's trying her best, doing her best and giving her all, the implications that she may not be are something she's particularly vulnerable too. She's partial to taking criticism personally, even constructive criticism, and it can be particularly badly received when it's in direct reference to the fact she just seems to check out at times.
Criticism isn't something that will lead to a tantrum so much as lead to her becoming sullen and withdrawn as she wrestles with something that doesn't tend to compute. She bounces back within a reasonable time, but the sullen and upset demeanour can rather drag down a mood if someone picks the wrong time to address the elephant in the room!
She's more robust to practical criticism i.e. a literal task; but she's very vulnerable to anything that appears to criticise her personality or intentions.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Almond shaped with light pastel green Iris.
Hair: Long, white and filled with volume. Just a hint of a deeper grey in some 'highlights' where she may have played with it to give it more depth. This would be an example.
Face: Heart shaped, though a slightly stronger jaw line. Blemish free face as she's long passed the hormone infused phase in her life. She hasn't inherited any particular freckles and for the most part her features appear to be at a balanced and average size. Her overall features are very symmetrical.
Skin Tone: Light brown.
Body Type: Tall, particularly long in the leg. Slight figure as she's quite particular about her 'regime'. She's not the perfect hourglass, she has shape but it's more subtle in that respect.
Clothes: February's attire differs depending on season and whatever happens to be in style (and make her look good) at the time. Generally speaking she favours form fitting close with considerable focus on emphasizing her waist-line and legs. As such, you can normally find her in very long high-waisted pants, sweater dresses, or anything else that hugs her form.
