You notice a black cat with what looks to be some kind of marking on its forehead, which in Destiny City is not an uncommon occurrence. It appears to be opening its mouth as though speaking, though no sounds come out. The cat entices you to follow it both by its silence and strange energy signature, and you don’t quite seem to be going anywhere in particular, but you feel compelled to see where this journey will end. As the small creature gets to a shadow filled area, it turns and gives a final audible meow before seeming to melt into the shadows. All searching yields no results the cat is simply not there…perhaps this wasn’t such a normal occurrence after all!
“Another night of draining complete.” Versailles muttered to himself as he let the man slump down, not caring if he fell into an uncomfortable or even dangerous position and pocketed the round orb of energy. He had been nervous tonight. Every time he drained someone a Senshi or Knight or whatever usually came along and interrupted him, claiming to be morally superior somehow that they were saving a known criminal that Versailles had drained. Tonight, it had been a guy who had assaulted a homeless man and ran away. But Versailles had seen it.
He had been walking home, trying to stay warm, when the man had gone up to the homeless guy and beaten him, for no reason it seemed. Not even to take what little, if any, money the homeless had.
Disgusting.
Which was why Versailles took it upon himself to drain the assaulter. He knew eventually that this would change, that he would be going after others who weren’t criminals, but that would be fine. They deserved it too. They were the ones who allowed all of this to happen. Perhaps not directly, but there ways to mitigate that most humans refused to take.
He stood there for a moment, taking in the cool air and watching his breath in front of his face, wondering how he was still so warm in his outfit, until he felt the aura of another. But this one was… different. And it was a cat?
It had appeared before him suddenly and seemed to have something on its forehead that he couldn’t quite make out. He had seen one of these cats before, it was the one who had corrupted him. Unwanted corruption, but he hadn’t realized what the Negaverse was before.
The cat moved forward, looked back at him, and then continued on its way, as though it wanted him to follow. And follow he did. After all, there wasn’t really anything else to do, and it did not appear to be an ordinary Order Senshi cat. It didn’t even have a star on its forehead. So, what could this kitty possibly be leading him to? Other than it being a Youma in disguise and bringing him to his doom. Ah well, that’s just the chance he would have to take!
However, it wasn’t long until the cat turned back around, meowed at him one more time, and then just… disappeared. No strange occurrence for a black cat. He doubted that he could find it in daylight either. But it was odd. He had never felt an aura like the one it had. And after this experience, he would ask others if they had run into this strange aura too. Ah well, nothing to worry about now. He powered down and continued to make his way home, hoping that he wouldn’t run into anymore trouble like the trouble he had just had to involve himself in considering him to be a witness. He did think about making a call to the police but ah well, if the assaulter froze to death overnight, then it was just what the man deserved.
