She was heading down the street, bags from her shopping trip hanging from her arms, as Genevieve made her way towards her car she couldn’t help but smile. Tonight she had driven herself to do her shopping, rather than using a driver, she had been doing that more and more over the last year or so. She was growing up and preferred to drive on her own, even if she didn’t like dealing with bad drivers on the road. The bags, from a local pet store, were filled with various things she needed. It was one of those mom and pop places that she liked to shop at, in order to support the small business, her cats liked the toys they carried.
She knew she could get the same things, mostly, at the bigger chain store but her cats favorite catnip toys were hand made, by a local, who only sold through the small shop and the money helped the woman making them foster kittens. It was for a good cause! Since the store had everything else she needed...she got it all there, which was good for the shop.
While she was walking Geneviueve was stopped by the sight of a black cat. It didn’t look like a normal cat… there was some sort of marking on its forehead. It wasn’t like a guardian cat but it looked close enough. Did they all have the same markings? She wasn’t entirely sure and this cat looked like it was trying to talk to her.
Moving to follow the cat, as it started walking off, Genevieve wondered if it wasn’t looking for a safe place to talk. Did it somehow know what she was?
As she continued to follow the cat she wondered why it hadn’t stopped yet, even going so far as to question the silent leader, but she got nothing in response. What was going on? Why was it leading her so far from where they’d been? It wasn’t necessary, that was for sure, and yet it seemed determined to continue this game. Maybe, just maybe, she shouldn’t be following it?
Just as she was thinking that the cat stopped. It had stopped! Finally. As it turned towards her, with her expecting it to talk, she was greeted with a loud meow followed by the cat turning and leaving...walking into the shadows. It literally seemed to walk, or melt, right into the shadows. What the hell?
Moving closer, in a bit of a hurry, Genevieve took to investigating the shadows but found nothing aside from bugs and dirty...debris. There was no cat anywhere...but there was no where for it to have gone to...aside from into the shadows.
Shivering she shook her head and backed up several steps, before turning and hurrying back the way she’d come. This was not good. This was strange and she didn’t like it, she was away from the main roads, and there was the rumor of shadow like dogs as well.
Next time she was not going to follow a strange cat - nope. She would go home to her own cats, who were at times strange all on their own.

You notice a black cat with what looks to be some kind of marking on its forehead, which in Destiny City is not an uncommon occurrence. It appears to be opening its mouth as though speaking, though no sounds come out. The cat entices you to follow it both by its silence and strange energy signature, and you don’t quite seem to be going anywhere in particular, but you feel compelled to see where this journey will end. As the small creature gets to a shadow filled area, it turns and gives a final audible meow before seeming to melt into the shadows. All searching yields no results the cat is simply not there…perhaps this wasn’t such a normal occurrence after all!.
