Day Five: The shadows were worth avoiding before, but now it's almost impossible. Sometimes when you walk through a shadow, you feel your heart beat so loudly in your head that it's all you can think about. You may step into one shadow and step out of another completely across town. Or, at least, it feels like it. There is no way of going back or predicting which shadow you will wind up coming out of, but the news is reporting a wave of fatigue, confusion and stress as having odd effects on its citizens. No one has any recollection of the travel between one shadow and the next, and all passing of time seems warped. Travel is instantaneous regardless of the distance through Destiny City.
It had been a long time since he'd gone out with Fiona, and they'd been good friends before dating, it had seemed that the break up had just somehow caused them to drift apart. They'd taken to doing their own things, growing on their own, and while it was good it had hurt losing a friend whom he'd been close to for a while.
Now he wasn't sure what to say or talk about with her and he was sort of dragging his feet on going to meet with her. He was nervous, something he used to never be, and wasn't sure he had enough to talk about. He felt like he hadn't experienced life or done anything. He was a senshi...but he couldn't tell her that, for obvious reasons, and he hadn't even done anything as a senshi!
Normally he ran late on things, he had a bad habit of it, but when he was actively trying to drag his feet...well he was really running late - or was he? It seemed like he was bouncing about the city, leap frogging towards the meeting place. But how? All he was doing was walking down the sidewalk...and he was just winding up in different places, always closer to where he was headed. Fate was out to get him...or something was, that he was sure of. His grandmother would have said fae of some sort, little folk, but they weren't real.
