Destiny City News reports several sightings of 'rabid dogs' appearing throughout the city. Those interviewed claim that the dogs would surround them and chase them down the streets, seemingly popping in and out of sight until the person finally found themselves in a well lit area. You have the misfortune of running into these same dogs.
They cling to the shadows as you go about your way at night. Seemingly at the corner of your vision, one flickers by, and you turn and see nothing. Again and again it happens. They are trying to drive you into the darkest corners of the city, herding you away from the light. In the nearby distance are the lights of the city: streetlights, signs, traffic. You have to do something to get there, to escape these creatures. When you make it to any significant light source, you hear a low growl, a wailing hiss; the dogs have vanished.
For now.

Rabid dogs, that’s what the news was calling it. It didn’t matter that they didn’t mean litteral rabid dogs, with rabies, the term just didn’t fit what was out there. This wasn’t to say he knew what these shadow dogs were, because he didn’t, but he knew they weren’t youma. The rumors, especially online, of them being hell hounds had started. It wasn’t a shock, not really, he had expected it when he’d heard about the shadow dogs that chased people through the city. It was certainly interesting, and even a bit entertaining, to hear about.
Aiden was out, something that was fairly common now it seemed, but right now that ok. Alexandre planned to go out for a walk and see if he couldn’t attract the attention of these shadowy creatures, he wanted to know what they were, it was time to see if he couldn’t answer his own curiosity because he knew what they weren’t.
Standing up, he’d been curled into an armchair, the ashen blond went to grab a coat and lace up a pair of boots - it was chilly out. Once bundled up he called out, assuming Katya was home, to let her know he was going out to check out these rumors about shadow dogs.
Closing and locking the door behind himself he headed off, hands stuffed into his pockets, as he kept glancing about waiting for a dog to appear. He saw other people, while walking, looking about but he did note it seemed less busy on the sidewalks. Was it because of these dogs? It was likely, at least in part, it was also a bit chilly with a slight breeze in the air. It was a night that he’d like to be home, under some blankets, but instead he was out looking for something to hunt him.
It wasn’t long that he spotted movement, to his right side, and it seemed to vanish. He wasn’t that far from the well lit parts of the city but he was just far enough away he’d hoped to find them, or that they’d find him, it seemed he was lucky tonight.
As he continued on Alexandre spotted more of them and on both sides. Good. Picking up the pace he could hear them now as they growled and made noises that were no doubt threatening, and meant to keep him moving as he wanted to. It wasn’t until he got closer to the lights, to lots of lights, that they seemed to try harder to keep him from arriving at his destination. He saw them moving ahead of him as if to cut him off, but he sped up and took to running, he wasn’t going to be stopped but he at least knew they were real now. He didn’t know if they were all bark, and growl, and no bite though...and he almost didn’t want to know. Knowing how these holidays went they were likely to bite, he didn’t need to find out for sure.
Ducking into an alleyway, nearly being run into by a dog, he powered up as fast as he could and used that boost in power to take to the roof tops and make for the lights faster. As he got to the cities lights he heard the howling, almost mourning, cry of the dogs and felt a smile tug at his lips in answer. Good.
They were real...they were a danger but they could be escaped. They also were not youma, which he figured anyway, but he didn’t know what they were. He couldn’t sense anything!
