Burian made his way into the thicket he wasn't really thinking of much of anything that day he was content to lay in the sunshine and let the sun warm his brown fur. He closed his green eyes and sighed out softly, taking in a deep breath of the clean air around him. He was just relaxing not really thinking of anything in the world. His family had moved around for a long time now, they were mostly nomads who past down stories of the past over the years. As the eldest of his litter, he had been given the family name of Burian.

Blueberry streached her long legs as she wandered through the blueberry patch that she lived in, Gentley tending to the berries on the branches and admiring the pretty white flowers that were yet to be in full bloom. That was when she caught the whiff of something on the wind. It didn't quite smell like another dire wolf, so she wasn't sure what it was. She made her way toward the edge of the patch peaking out and letting out a low warning growl to whatever might be lurking near her home.

Burian heard something growling and he looked over to see a blueberry bush that he had not really been paying attention to. He shook his head and then said "I've never heard a blueberry bush growl before." He chuckled he was guessing that there was another creature in the bush defending it for some reason but it was just a blueberry bush so he wasn't sure what creature would care since wolves didn't eat blueberries to his knowledge. Raccoons didn't growl. He didn't think a bear would be small enough to hide in a blueberry bush unless it was a cub which he supposed was possible.

This time of year her blueberries were rotten, the leaves were dying and preparing for winter. This was the time she was most alert. During the summer she had some that simply followed their nose to her berries. It was fall now, so that was unlikely though she supposed that some of the berries that remained could still be edible while not being the most desirable. However she heard a voice and didn't detect a sense of malicious intent. Her hackles settled a bit and she stuck her head put of the Bush line. "What brings you here so close to my home?" She eyed the wolf dog in front of her her eyes widening in realization she had never met one before.

MiddyGlow since they are putting this in as a location I tweaked it a bit to fit the current season.

Burian wasn't bothered by the blueberry blushes being out of season and clearly Blueberry Hoarder didn't mind either they were her pride to defend and he respected her for that. He was used to the strange looks and he brushed them off. He didn't think hard on what he was nor did he tell others what he was. He was the eldest of his siblings and as such he had been given the family name as had other generations been given special names to honor the humans of the past that had once been there masters. "I travel the land." He said with a shrug. "I just happened upon your blueberry bushes." He said simply. He often gave the least amount of information he could in a situation.

Blueberry sniffed at him listening to his explanation. She tentatively nodded. Coming out a bit from the tree line. She eyed him, but decided he was probably okay to trust. She shook her body the hair settling down and her body relaxing a bit more. "Well that's quite alright, I do enjoy company I don't get many wolves out here." She stretched giving him a full look over. "I am called blueberry Hoarder" she let out a laugh because it was a name she had not chosen, but after being called that by every creature she had met it had grown on her and a sense of pride.

Burin nodded and then said, "Well that certainly makes sense." His name only made sense to his family that he was part and eldest of his family, otherwise, his name would most likely be considered very strange to other wolves. Considering the other wolves he had met were all named things like Rain Dance not Burin. He cocked his eyebrow "So do you just stay here even in the offseason and guard your berry bushes even with the berries dead on the bush?" Burin asked curiously he figured that would be a very dull like he preferred traveling and exploring.
