..that the war on terrorism is just a bunch of lies perpetuated by the government? Something akin to 1984?

Quote:
War is Peace
Origin
This phrase has been used by George Orwell in the first chapter of his novel. “1984.” In the novel, this phrase is one of the slogans of the Party. These slogans are, “War is peace / freedom is slavery [and] ignorance is strength.” The Party believed that they could endlessly engage in a war to keep peace in the country. This slogan describes the reality of accepting two mutually opposing beliefs simultaneously as correct. This was also a major program of the Party to promote “double thinking.” Hence, it is a good example of double thinking, though contradictory, but the people of Oceania accepted both ideas as correct.

Meaning
This slogan simply means that, though Oceania is perpetually going through a war situation, and people are behaving like peace is everywhere, they could easily change from one state of emotion to another state according to the demands of the Party. Simply it implies that the Party created these slogans to ensure continuation of control and power over people because during wars nations unite and people focus on their common enemy, and less on how unhappy they are with their own lives. Hence, this makes less trouble for the ruling party or the government.

I always try to avoid thinkin' about things like this because it makes me nervous. I worry a lot about the education system, since so much of it is run by people who only see it as a form of profit, rather than education. I can't help but feel like people are being dumbed down, since they're easier to sway when they don't think. Luckily, at least on this front, there are a lot of teachers that fight back and go above and beyond in education.

I dunno, in short.

Thank you for continuing to come back Semok! I was sitting here thinking, like, "Ok, Semok...what have I forgotten to say to him? There was something." I know what it is! What in the world do your students, or even neighbors, think about your dream car?

And guess what? We tracked down and caught Muhammed bin Ahkbar Shushanasa today. 'merica!.

And don't worry, that's not a person, or a real story. I'm not the media, so I'm not allowed to make people up. But,I really do believe there is someone behind a keyboard or camera that is just creating some random crazy s**t and are making people / situations up....I just did it right here.

Muhammed bin Ahkbar Shushanasa is dead! He was an potential candidate for the new ISIS leader. Aren't you glad? We're winning! We did it! We're the best! The next target is Ishmael bin Raka-Asada. You've never heard of him? He's, like, totally important. Duh! Stay tuned. We'll catch "him" as soon as there is a need for distraction. Meanwhile, lock your doors, stay there, and be scared.

People were a bit taken aback when I explained what my dream car was, but they also weren't surprised, since I have quite a reputation at my school for being a bit...different. More people have gotten enjoyment out of it than fear, I think, since it's random. I checked with my principal first before even bringing it to the school. One of the teachers at my school just lost their mother, though, so I won't be driving it to work for a while.

And I don't understand the whole concept between "us" versus "them." I think we need to find a way to respect one another's differences and get along better. I know it isn't that easy, since sometimes people's differences infringe on the morals of others and what not, but I think we'd do better as a species if we live so cliquey.
