 Forest shadow took a deep breath she had just joined the Swiftfell pack and she was eager to start looking for herbs in the forest and figure out the trade of being a healer for all she could, she still needed to learn a few things but she was excited to experiment and learn new things. She was still getting her footing in this part of the forest but she already knew some plants and herbs that could be used for healing. She made a noise as she was thinking and looking over some plants she knew by sight and smell. She could hear the creek babbling nearby and she felt it a comforting sound as she looked for herbs near the peaceful water.

Sam was tracking the scent of what he thought was a raccoon, though he had his doubts with how fresh the trail was. The animals were becoming less frequent as the leaves began to fall from the trees, layering the ground in puddles of brilliant red, orange, yellow, and brown. He really wasn't picking up this hunting thing; not like Red. Red Oak could sniff out the smallest mammals it seemed, whilst here, Sam met the creek with disappointment. The trail was lost to him now, the water having completely washed away the traces of the animal (which was stale in the first place). The brown wolf let out a sigh, slumping his rear down to the forest floor. He hadn't actually been able to make his first kill since joining swiftfell. Red, his best friend, had taken it easy on him but he knew it was out of kindest... and maybe a shade of pity. The thought of telling Red that he was thinking about trying something different gave him a nervous lurch in the stomach. With that, he stood and began to drink the creek.

Forest Shadow has her head down in a bunch of Valerian the moist area near the stream was a perfect place for it to grow. It was helpful to allow the sick to rest, which she had learned was important for a creature to heal well. She hadn't caught the scent of the other wolf nearby as she collected some of the Valerian to take back to the pack with her. She really needed to figure out a way to fashion something to carry her herbs in. If only she could figure out something perhaps a rib cage with leaves in it? Or animal skin? She pondered her problem as she worked.

The was a near by noise which peaked Sam's interest. Was this finally some prey he could hunt? He'd been unsuccessful as a hunter, at least when he wasn't in the company of Red. With hopes returning, the young brown wolf hunkered down into a stalking posture and began to advance on the shuffling noise, doing his best to remain quiet and undetected.

Forest was still distracted by what she was doing, she didn't smell or hear anyone nearby as she tried to think of how she would get her herbs back to the pack safely. She sighed softly this was something perhaps she needed to seek out a trinket maker to fashion a bag for her, then she would be able to push herbs into her bag easily. A raccoon assistant would make things far easier still then she would have someone to help her with her work that had smaller paws. She gathered the herbs as best as she could then stood back lost in thought.

In Good Faith Now... was... his... time! Sambar launched himself into the bushes, trying to find purchase with his teeth, quickly realizing what he had attacked was no small prey. A deer maybe? Oh boy... he didn't think he could handle a deer. Wait, no. Something else. Ow! Whatever he had attacked was attacking him back and quickly, Sam yelped and leaped back with his tail tucked between his legs. MiddyGlow I hope you don't mind my saying she attacked him in turn. If so, let me know and I'll modify it. :3

Forest Shadow was shocked to feel someone bite down on her, she yelped out and turned and frowned very confused it was a fellow wolf and they smelled like pack, so what was going on. She lunged forward and bit the wolf on the side on reflex before she realized what was going on. She pulled away and pulled her leg up and then looked at the wolf who had bitten her they were not in an attack pose. She frowned still very confused by the situation. She held her leg up she would most likely have to hobble back to the pack to have one of the other healers take a look at it. "Umm.." She said uncertainly as to what you should say after someone accidentally attacks you. (It's alright XD as long as it's not a death plot I can work with it makes it more interesting. Hope that works I miss read your quote at first. If not let me know and I'll fix it XD.)

Over the course of a few heart beats, Sam merely stared back at the female... then burst into apologies. " I am. SO. SORRY," which he repeated a few ten-times, examining her hurt paw, pacing back and forth, feeling terrible. " Are you hurt? Can you walk on it? Can I take you to the healers???" He berated her with questions, all the while dissolving into a bit of hysteria. WC: 385 MiddyGlow Aww I didn't mean to hobble her but oh well, Sambar will just have to feel bad about it! lol

Forest Shadow was relieved that she didn't have to fight this pack member. "It's alright but yes if you would help me get back to the other healers that would be great." She gave him as much of a smile as she could since her leg hurt from the bite. She remained calm it was part of her job, she had to keep a cool head in a bad situation. "If you like I could direct you how to treat the wound, but it's kinda hard to treat myself." She laughed through the pain. (565)

Sam's ears fell and he whined, nodding. "Please, I am terribly sorry, again." He waited her instruction, shaking a bit at his bumble. He was convinced that being hunter simply wasn't what he was cut out for.

Forest Shadow smiled and then she gestured her head to a tree that had herbs and moss growing around it. "Alright, you need to gather those green and blue herbs and some of that moss, it will be alright." She said confidently. It wasn't a terrible wound and shouldn't take too long to heal. "I'm Forest Shadow by the way." She said in a soft tone.

The male wolf smiled meekly with a breathy laugh. " Hi Forest Shadow. I'm Sambar." It wasn't at that precise moment that Sambar realized that he would one day be a great healer, no. It was a short time thereafter, and he would always have Forest Shadow to thank for that.
