 Moonbeam had been making preparations with the other attendants, and ensuring that everything at the pool was up to snuff for summer. While it seemed that fewer rabbits came to leave offerings during the balmy season even more showed up just to view the pool itself. This meant a lot of enforcing. No, you can't dig a burrow here. No, you can't start a warren here. No, you can't leave your half eaten berries here. It was unending.
But, that didn't mean it was all her own effort. She nodded softly to herself. In fact, she had recently recruited a new guardian! Someone else who could help keep the visitors moving. This did mean that this guardian would need some education though. And perhaps by more than her brother ...
She hopped towards Moon Moon's burrow, hoping that perhaps she would find him and her newest recruit Bark were already together. If not she knew what she'd be up to next ... She pounded a strong hock against the earth about Moon Moon's burrow. "Brother! Are you here?"

 If there was one thing Moon Moon was not good at (and indeed, there were many things that he was not very good at), it was keeping his burrow tidy. There had never really been any need for it, not when he had thus far enjoyed the luxury of having a burrow all to himself. It was a small burrow, made even smaller by the piles of junk that he left lying about, unshackled by the judgment and peer pressure to clean that came from having to share a space with another creature. So it was that when Moon Moon heard his beloved sister's voice outside his burrow, he made his hasty way toward the opening, managing to trip several times over his own collection of rocks and vines. "Ow! Oof, no no no. AUGH!" The sounds of the buck's struggles wafted out of the burrow toward Moonbeam. It wasn't until several long moments later that Moon Moon tumbled out of the burrow into the open, landing in a splayed heap before Moonbeam with ears and limbs akimbo. "Hello, Moonbeam!" He said brightly, shaking his hears out of his face and picking himself off the ground, evidently none the worse for wear. "What brings you here today?" wc 207

Her ears twitched as she heard her sibling bashing around in his burrow. She sucked in a deep breath. Moon Moon was perhaps not the most skillful of rabbit at ... many things ... but at least his heart and mind were in the right place. At least according to Moonbeam. She considered sticking her head into the burrow to see if he needed assistance, but then there he was, in a pile of limbs and ears.
"Ah, Moon Moon. I'm glad you were home." She tried to be as genuine as possible. Despite his faults Moon Moon was a guardian. Another rabbit who valued the Pool. "Brother, we have a new guardian! But I think he'll need a little teaching. You know, getting him used to life here, and all of the expectations he must meet. I was hoping you could ... mentor him?" And perhaps some of Bark's ... temperament would rub off onto Moon Moon. Maybe.
She glanced around, trying to locate her new recruit. "His name is Bark. I'm sure you'll like him. ... Maybe he's back at the pool. I thought maybe he would have found you already."

Bark was near the edge of the pool, looking over the clear reflection of the water and the bright blue summer sky, when he heard the sounds of crashing and yelling nearby. He perked his ears up and turned toward the source of the sound. When things became silent again, he furrowed his brow, wondering if he had heard anything at all. Well he better go investigate just in case it could be some rabbits passing through the area making a mess of things. Bark began hopping toward where he thought the noise had originated from. "OH! Of course!" A look of absolute delight spread across Moon Moon's face and he beamed at the mention of a new guardian. New friends!! It was always terribly excited. Moon Moon had never mentored anyone or anything before in his life and he wasn't terribly sure how one mentored, but the prospect of teaching someone to do things seemed wonderfully fun. Kind of like how Moonbeam had taught him lots of things as they were growing up. "This will be like that time you showed me how to walk around in the water without getting my whole face wet!" he said, genuinely excited about this whole thing. Moon Moon was positively ready to meet this new guardian. He sat up on his haunches, peering around carefully, and was thrilled to see a brown shape moving toward them. "Is that him?" he asked, waving happily to the other buck. "That must be him!" wc 207+153 = 360

Moonbeam twitched an ear and smiled. "Well brother, I'm glad you're excited for this opportunity. I think it will be good for you!" And one less thing for Moonbeam herself to do! Perhaps. She hopped after her brother, towards the pool. Ah, and there was her new recruit.
"Ah yes, that's Bark!" She hopped a little faster, pleased to see her plan coming together. "Bark! Hello! This is my brother, Moon Moon! He's a guardian too!" She hopped up to her newest recruit.
"Bark - Moon Moon. Moon Moon - Bark." She looked between the two bucks expectantly. "Moon Moon is my brother, and also a guardian. I thought it would be nice if Moon Moon could show you the ropes! Teach you about what it means to be a guardian! Show you where you can dig your burrow!" Moonbeam poured all of her excitement into her explanation.

Bark smiled pleasantly and nodded to the excited buck. "Hi there, it's nice to meet you. I look forward to learning all I can about how to be the best Guardian I can be." He then turned to Moonbeam and his smile grew slightly wider. "Thank you so much Moonbeam for giving me this opportunity and a place to belong at the Pool. I really appreciate it!" Bark squared his shoulders and eagerly looked to his new teacher and prepared himself to learn all he could. He desperately wanted to be an exceptional guardian, to best protect the beauty of the Pool, but also to make Moonbeam proud. Words: 108 Total: 204

Moonbeam looked back and forth between the two bucks, please that she'd managed to make this happen. "Well, I'm sure you two can sort yourselves out now ..." Maybe. She could hope at least.
Her eyes drifted back to the burrow entrance under the pool. "I have a few things to attend to. But have a good day boys!" She daintily hopped off to whatever it was an attendant did under the pool.

Redeemed“Oh, yes!” Moon Moon said quite eagerly, bobbing his head up and down. “Well, there’s… lots to learn.” He beamed at his enthusiastic new student, not once considering all the ways in which he probably could and would screw up Bark’s imminent training. Oh well. It was all to be expected anyway. Moon Moon had never once been put in charge of teaching anyone (probably for good reason) so snags were… inevitable. “We as Guardians are responsible for quite a lot of things. We have to make sure the pool is safe and accessible, and well… You don’t to let anyone get lost or definitely don’t point them in the wrong direction. And, you know, don’t drop anyone’s offerings into the pool or anything…” All things that may or may not have happened under Moon Moon’s watch. “Bye Moonbeam!!” He said, waving frantically as his sister disappeared. He turned to Bark thoughtfully. “Well. Let’s get started!” wc 207+153 + 156 = 516 boom done
