Sometimes when you walk through a shadow, you feel your heart beat so loudly in your head that it's all you can think about. You may step into one shadow and step out of another completely across town. Or, at least, it feels like it. There is no way of going back or predicting which shadow you will wind up coming out of, but the news is reporting a wave of fatigue, confusion and stress as having odd effects on its citizens. No one has any recollection of the travel between one shadow and the next, and all passing of time seems warped. Travel is instantaneous regardless of the distance through Destiny City. Bernard hoped that he wasn't going crazy, that he was perhaps just mis-remembering where he was taking his naps around the city. But it was so weird! He would be sleeping in the shade of one tree, and then when he woke up, he would be under a completely different one in another park! Or when he had taken a nap under a bench he hand woken up underneath one in the middle of the busiest part of the city when a child had slapped him! But it was also happening while he was awake too. He would be passing in the shadow of a street sign, and then wind up across the street or worse! And he could have sworn his heart was beating faster too. Perhaps something in his brain was telling him something that he just couldn't remember? Did it have something to do with his past life that he had forgotten? It unnerved him to say the least, and he was currently doing everything he could to avoid any shadows that he could possibly step in, but was having a hard time doing so. Especially at night, even if he could see in the dark. And it was about to be that time soon too since the sun was once again starting to set earlier and earlier until the Winter Solstice came around once again. He needed to head back home though. He couldn't stand trying to navigate this city much longer like this!

Leaena hoped she was going a little nuts. It would explain some things. She hadn't been able to make it home in 5 days. That wasn't good for a Chibi Senshi. She'd managed to get some sleep in, but she'd wake someplace entirely different. These blasted shadows. First, bitterly cold, then catching and grabbing at one. Now they were teleporting her all over town. Her family must be worried sick. Blasted Halloween Magical Convergence. Hey, there was a cat up ahead, and not just any cat, a Guardian Cat. From it's signature, she was pretty sure the Tom was a good cat, but she was in no shape to tell. She as a Chibi need help getting home and getting home quick. She ran up to him, making sure to avoid shadows. "Guardian Cat! I need your help!" She was a sight to see. She knew it.

Bernard shook his head hoping that he was still in the same place when he stopped to look again, when he heard a voice coming up to him. He turned around only to be quite startles at the girl's appearance! What had happened to this child?! He stayed in place, fearful that the shadows might take him somewhere else yet again and the chibi managed to catch up to him. "Dear young lady! What has happened to you?" He cursed to himself. "I'm sorry, I should know what has happened. It's these blasted shadows! But my dear, what do you need help with? I will try the best that I can, but if it's to avoid these shadows then we must move quickly. It will be dark soon and even with my night vision I won't be able to see all of them."

Leaena nodded, "Yes it's the shadows. Because of them, I haven't been home in five days. I get nearly home and then one of them takes me to the other side of the city. And that is my problem. I'm trying to get home. And I can't."

Bernard sighed. He wasn't sure if he would be of much help since these "shadows" seemed to affect him too. "I will do my best young lady, we will have to walk around these shadows and find our way. If you wish, you may keep a grip on my tail and that way if one of us is moved somewhere, then the other one will be too, and we should be able to find our way home eventually." Hopefully before nightfall. He held his tail out as high and far as he could, though he wasn't sure how fast they were going to be if she needed to keep a grip on him and if she walked too slowly. He would have walked at his normal pace, but he knew he had to move quickly this time. He wouldn't be able to get either of them home in time. "If you could, please tell me the address of your home, or at least the streets near it so that I can figure out the way."

Leaena nodded and took a firm but gentle grip on the cat's tail. "995 Rite Nodd Street, and thank you, Sir. What shall I call you?" Leaena was nervous, but she wasn't going to do that chitchatting thing that most young kids did when they were nervous. She knew that the Gentlecat (as opposed to Gentleman) needed to focus. She would answer his questions of course, but other than that...

Bernard nodded. "I believe I know where that is. We need to go now though." He went slowly at first, making sure that the poor girl could actually keep up with him and wouldn't collapse. She seemed to be able to keep up with him though and started to make his way quickly to the address that she had told him, weaving around corners, making sure to use his body to block her if she moved shakily in the wrong direction, etc. until they were very close. He looked in front of him and said, "We're almost there. Are you sure you'll be all right? I can stay with you for a bit if you wish."

Leaena nodded. "Thank you. I see my house now!" She let go of his tail and walked up to the front door. She turned to wave, and was about to power down, when the shadow of a large tree in the lawn fell over her. She vanished.
