History: Maaemo isn't the oldest pack around, but its not quite new either. The pack was formed in a single open cavern, by a Hyena called 'Aa several generations ago. 'Aa was a charismatic leader, inspiring further excavation of the earth into a vast tunnel system below the earth. As the pack expands, the further the tunnels go. The tunnels, however, are not always safe. The pack was new, and inexperienced. At the end of her life, 'Aa stood in a tunnel, inspecting the new structure when it collapsed. She left behind a single son. The son, Aun, did not lead well. The pack demanded he step down or marry, and marry he did. His mate was appointed queen of the pack, and the pack settled once more into the daily life of everything. As the pack began to grow again, so did their knowledge of excavating caves.
Currently: The pack is settling into life with their new Queen, Ban. She came in as an outsider, marrying the son of the previous queen, Toza. Her newness to the pack is refreshing, as she has ideas on how to expand the pack even further.
Location: A cave in northeast africa. The cave did not exist long ago, just a small open maw in the earth. The entire cave system was excavated and created by the pack.
Flora: The pack has fostered growth of both mosses and ferns. The ferns don't grow deep into the caves, and remain in areas of light and semi-lit areas. Deeper into the caves exist lampenflora, and other bio-luminescent mosses that help light the cave and allow the pack to see in its depths.
Fauna: The caves, of course, contain the hyena pack, but beyond the pack contains a variety of creatures. Many of these are small like insects. A common creature in the caves are snakes, bats, and other creatures. A common familiar in the caves are ratels. Further down in the caves existed a natural underwater river that contains fish, typically blind ones.
