Burnt Ash awoke in a den she claimed for herself to strange sounds in the darkness. She rose up with haste and her eyes which began adjusting to the darkness could see a small mass figure going through some of her 'treasures' as she calls them which simply made up of bones and rare stones she finds on her many travels. She watched the creature in amusement as it brought one of the bones towards its nose and took a great long sniff only to toss it aside with disappointment. The bone which was discarded made a heavy sound which made the creature turn into her direction in fear and in the darkness the two made eye contact.
The small creature let out a freaked shrill and made a mad dash for the entrance of the den, but Burnt Ash was quick enough to pin the creature outside onto the ground. She looked down to find a raccoon of all creatures to be the thieving culprit. It wriggled and struggled under her paw with its little blue colored paws grabbing at her leg "Oh please..oh please! Spare me!" it begged.
She smirked down at the raccoon "Why should I? You come and invade my den looking through my treasure.."
"Pft. Treasure? You call that junk treasure?"
Burnt Ash let out a loud growl to silent the raccoon who gulped in response. She looked down at the raccoon and bared her teeth
"Tell me a good reason to let you live!"
The raccoon blinked and fumbled as it began to think on a good response "Oh! I know!" it looked up at Burnt Ash with wide eyes "I can find you treasure! Loads of it!"
This piqued Burnt Ash for she had a weakness for strange objects and shiny things, still to trust a raccoon to give its word? Her blue eyes flickered down onto the raccoon once more and smirked "How can I trust you?"
"Look, I could use a strong partner for when I go to steal--I mean retrieve treasures."
She lifted her paw which had been weighing down on the raccoon for some time now and just laughed "Do you propose to be partners? Imagine? A wolf like me to partner up with a silly little thief?"
"Hey! This thief has a name! It's Night Trickster!" the raccoon huffed while getting up from the ground and began to dust itself off with its blue paws.
"Night Trickster? Hm, well that name certainly does not forebode well in my decision." she gave the raccoon a light glare "Never the less, I'm interested."
"You are?" Night Trickster perked up.
Burnt Ash gave a nod "But you better not be fooling me! If you are, I will chase you to the ends of the world."
"No tricks! I promise!" the raccoon said while holding out it's right paw to Burnt Ash.
The wolf eye'd the paw briefly before gently placing her paw onto Night Trickster's small paw. She then smiled and said "I'm Burnt Ash."
And with that the two became partners..
