It had been the first time that Sumner had powered up on a day that wasn't sunny and clear. Or at least it had been that way at first but eventually it had started to rain and since he didn't want to get his civilian clothes wet, which meant that they would have to dry, why not try getting back home while powered?

When he had found somewhere somewhat secluded and powered up he felt a friendly "aura" nearby. "Aura..." He still didn't like that word for some reason. He supposed it was just because he wasn't used to the term, but "feeling" felt a bit more accurate considering they were able to "sense" each other powered individuals. Perhaps he was still too new though.

As he stepped out into the rain, he could tell immediately that his outfit seemed to be waterproof which made him quite happy. He would have to try it out in the water sometime! Still, he wanted to see who the other person was out here, and eventually found a Senshi who seemed to be taking shelter in the park nearby.

Sumner couldn't help but grin. "Looks like you got caught in the rain too. At least there doesn't seem to be anything out there." Hopefully. He still wasn't sure if he was able to sense things correctly.

Sumner walked into the shelter a bit more, leaning against a wall across from the Senshi and couldn't help but grimace a little when she mentioned that she didn't see many... Order was it? people around. Perhaps that was why he had been awakened? They needed more, but still, it didn't sound too good. "I can't say I've had the same experience, but I haven't been, uh, powered that long." He said, trying to find the words. He was still having a hard time remembering and wondered if writing everything down somewhere and repeating it over and over would help him. "It's good that there aren't any Youma around here though. I would hate to have to fight one in the rain." He would willingly fight one in the water, but rain? All that guaranteed was slipping on wet grass or slipping in mud, and neither sounded fun.

He couldn't help but chuckle at her "joke" though. "I would petition for it to be near the lake, that way I wouldn't have to go too far." He took a look out at the rain, sighed, and turned his head back to her. "I'm Sumner, Page of Neptune. I can't really guess what your power is from your outfit, though I would think that's a good thing. That way the enemy can't guess." Not like he had any magic though. Apparently he had to wait until he was a "Squire" to actually use any of it. It was slightly ridiculous, how exactly were Pages supposed to do any damage or be of any help?

Sumner felt himself grinning in return. "Sounds like what I'm going to have to do for a bit. I don't have any sort of magic myself, even healing magic, so might just have to start throwing things." If he could find something to throw. There wouldn't always be something within distance and at some point he was actually going to have to figure out how to fight. He wasn't looking forward to it.

"Healing is useful though, but yeah if you're by yourself then it would be a lot harder. Didn't know it wouldn't work on Youma though, but I'm still trying to figure out what they are in the first place." They were monsters of course, but where did they come from and how were they made? He knew it had something to do with the Negaverse, but otherwise had no clue.

He nodded when she correctly called him a Knight. "I am a Knight, but I guess I'm the "first stage" Knight-" He emphasized with finger quotes, "so I'm just a Page right now and I don't have any magic. Though I do have my "weapon"-" more finger quotes, "for some reason." He replied, taking the mini guitar off of his back and strumming it a little. "Can't do anything with it right now though. I heard later that I'll eventually be able to channel some magic through it, but I don't know why we have it when we can't use it right now. It's just in danger of being broken or whatever." And he did not want this mini guitar broken. It was way too precious to him, even without being a "weapon".

He started to strum it without realizing as he looked out at the rain. "I wish there was more guidance for all of this. I was just sort of Awakened and thrown to the wind. You think they would have some sort of group or something that made sure to teach the newbies about all of this and what we're up against. But from what I've learned, unless we can build the friendships ourselves, we'll be alone more often than not." He looked back at her. "Which is why I want to meet as many allies as I can. Maybe I won't feel so alone in all of this, you know?"

He snorted at her teasing and smiled. "I wish. My only musical talent is playing the guitar." If he ever did join a band though, he would be happy to not have all of the attention on him. But being a lifeguard was more than enough for him.

"I imagine that would be pretty hard to do." He had seen what a youma was like, he certainly hadn't met any sentient ones yet, and he wasn't sure if he wanted to either. And to try to heal them... it would be almost impossible in his opinion. "If you ever do manage to find one though, I'd like to hear about it. So far the only one that I encountered tried to kill me."

A look of panic crossed his face momentarily and he held the mini-guitar a bit closer. "I uh... would rather not." He said as he thought about using it to bludgeon something or someone and it breaking into a million little pieces. He wasn't sure how durable "Knight weapons" were, but he didn't want to take the chance either!

Sumner thought about it for a moment. Training would be good, and if there was a Senshi willing to teach them, then that could be good... though he had to wonder what kind of training it would be exactly considering that he would rather not just go straight into a fight and figure it out from there. Ah well. He supposed something was better than nothing. "If you know him... sure. I'd like to have at least a little bit of fighting experience. Better than well, none at all."

He took a look outside and it seemed that the rain was starting to let up. Not completely, but it was now a small shower instead. He turned back to Adorea grinning. "Well, looks like the rain is letting up a little bit. But I'm kind of glad we got stuck here for a bit."

"I'd appreciate it. Though don't force yourself into trying to find one. Even if I never find one it'll be fine." It would really. As much as he hated to kill any creature, one didn't have much of a choice if the creature was trying to kill them and they wanted to live. He would have left the giant crab Youma alone if it had just scuttled along. But it had tried to attack and steal his starseed? Whatever it was after, it meant to get it by any means necessary, and that included killing him to do it. He knew the creature was doing it to survive, but that didn't meant he had to fall to it.

"Sounds good about Nix though, I'll keep him in mind." He would have to remember the name, though it didn't seem like it would be hard. It was only three letters after all.

The rain soon came to a stop and Sumner sighed. "You know, if you want, we can exchange numbers or something? I've heard that Knights have to have some sort of ring and power to be able to communicate directly with senshi, and I know I don't have the ring, so I only have my phone for now. I'd really like to keep in touch with others that I meet. But if you don't want to it's fine. I'll just see you around then?"

When Adorea took out her phone Sumner couldn't help but wonder what type it was. It clearly wasn't one of the normal smartphones... and she said it was taken by Mauvians? He wasn't sure what those were, but from the sounds of it they made tech of sorts, including cell phones. He looked at his ring, and then back at her and blushed. "Uh well... I'm not exactly sure how to use this yet. I'm still so new that I just kind of got this and know it takes me to my Wonder, but that's about it." He wondered if it even could take messages? "I have my regular smartphone if you just want to give me a number for that though." He said while motioning to the small shoulder bag that he had been carrying.

He hoped that the photo she had taken hadn't been too embarrassing, though he wasn't able to say anything about it now. At least she would remember him!

Sumner quickly added the contact into his list. "Thanks. I understand it can be nerve-wracking to add someone you don't really know to your contacts" He made sure to give it a nickname that he would remember but wasn't her actual Senshi name, "once I get my ring." Whatever that is he thought to himself, "Then we can switch to that all right?" He did feel bad about this, and wish there was a better way. Or at least he wished that Knights also got phones. He wasn't sure why Senshi got them but Knights didn't.

Ah well, something to think about at a later time.

"I appreciate it." It was the first number of someone in all of this crazy mess that he had added to his phone. "It's nice being able to talk to someone about this later, at least without hoping you just bump into them again." He said with a chuckle.

It looked like the rain had let up, there was only the remnants of water left that hadn't dried. Of course, it had only stopped a little while ago, but he couldn't help but think it looked nice to see the sun peaking through the clouds with all of this water on the ground. "I think it's time for me to be heading back. If you want we can walk for a bit until we need to separate, but if you don't that's fine too. It was nice getting to meet a Senshi and friend."
