[OOC: I had permission to write this, not godmodding.]
Teasel was so happy with how their romance had transpired and how gung-ho Speck was with the developments. The timing was awesome for digging a home and starting their family. It was still the tail end of spring which meant they could take advantage of frequent showers softening the soil. This also meant the weather was cool enough to work really hard without fear of overheating. But best of all, at about the time the kits rolled in it would officially be summer and food would be plentiful.
They scoured for choice locations on the outskirts of Poppy Hills, an area Speck had expressed an interest in, until they found a place that was so ideal they were surprised it hadn't been taken already. There was a small, sun dappled copse of hawthorn trees near Bubble Up. It had all the comforts and safety of trees but without actually having to be in The Tanglewood with all its dangerous uncertainties. The largest tree was in the center of the copse, on a raised hill. A sizeable rock sat on the incline and was shaped in such a way that they could start the entrance to their home hidden from plain view.
Over the course of the following few weeks they worked like madrabbits, determined to make it as roomy and comfortable as possible in the time frame. They'd done a bang up job, really. Particularly the nest area where the kits would be born which was lined with so much grass and fur it was practically a work of art. It was way larger than it needed to be, but Teasel was a perfectionist and wanted the best for their kits. She'd seen some moms have a whopping twelve before so, she was hopeful of having at least six. The more the merrier in her eyes.

Teasel beamed at the nest and then him, keenly aware of how lucky she was. She wasn't sure if she deserved this good of circumstances, but she definitely wasn't complaining or in a rush to give them up. A lot of bucks wouldn't want to stick around at all, let alone be so helpful in the whole process. "Beyond perfect" she confirmed. "I can't wait!" With a home like this and a partner like Speck, she was indisputably ready.
Good thing too, because the very next morning she birthed a boy and girl kit. An initial pang of shame and disappointment stirred in her at there only being two, but that evaporated as soon as she heard those first squeaks. Somehow all at once-for a few unforgettable moments-her heart melted, head spun, and world flipped inside out. Her existence was now completely about these helpless, precious things. It was as if an invisible force now tethered her to them, unbreakable and all consuming.
