Redeemed
Sunny lay in a pile of flowers she had collected and stared sadly at the slowly dying grass around her. Spring was coming to an end and she could see the evidence in the dwindling flowers and yellowing grass and she was NOT happy about it. Sunny loved to be happy! Why did the seasons have to change? Summer wasn’t too bad she supposed. It was nice and warm which was wonderful, and there was a lot of abundant fruit and other foods, but spring was by far her favorite time and she was always sad to see it end. This had been such a wondrous spring too! She had played so many wonderful games and met so many fun rabbits and she smiled so happily to look back on all those memories.

She reached to her neck and lovingly ran her paw over the soft petals of her flower necklace. She was so happy she and pip were able to make so many beautiful things with flowers. Now she will always have a little bit of spring with her, and then she giggled and rubbed her little bracelet against her cheek, and a little bit of Pip! Pip was such a fun friend and she was so happy she met him! He loved beautiful things as much as she did and he was always so happy and fun to be around, which Sunny really appreciated. She was excited to go join the warren he was always going on about because it sounded like it was always so happy there. She dreaded spring ending too because it brought winter ever more closer and Sunny HATED winter it was the worst time of the year. She hoped that by being a part of Pip’s happy little warren that it would make the hard winter days less hard.

She sighed and looked up at the pretty blue sky and the shining sun. Well, she didn’t need to worry about those things yet. She still had this beautiful day in front of her and summer was coming and while it wasn’t her favorite, it was nice and warm and it was her namesake! She remembered fondly blinking up at her parents in a bright shiny day when she and her sister were born and her parents thinking they looked just like the sun and naming them such. It made her happy and it was nice to always have a bit of sunshine in her heart even during those cold dark stormy winter days. But again, she turned her mind from that and decided to focus on the now and right now it was still happy and beautiful. She smiled wide and rolled onto her back with her eyes closed, feeling the flower bed beneath her and the sun above her and the sounds of bugs lazily buzzing nearby. It was the beginning of a super fun day and she was excited to see what would happen. The sun against her eyelids made her sleepy and she found herself dozing off to the thought of what a wonderful life she has.
