 Nothing in life was ever easy. Nothing is life was ever handed to you either. It was a matter of making something of yourself and really seizing the day for what it's worth. There was nothing more you could do other then survive. Survive and live. Two of the hardest things to do especially when you had such a bleak reality on things and when you came from such a horrible situation there wasn't much to really live for.
This is how Rebellion saw his life. Meaningless and a complete waste of his time. However he did have a little light at the end of the tunnel. If this was him from a few years ago, he probably would have told you he would be dead by now and that there was no hope for his survival. However, the Rebellion today was a fighter through thick and thing no matter the cost or the challenge.
He had gotten to know a male. He was friendly enough that went by the name Night Fell and he really left an impression on him. Normally he would shrug someone like that off and move on, but not this male. He spoke of bigger and better things. Forming a pack and really becoming something. This intrigued Rebellion to really start thinking long term. What did he want to get out of his life and just what did he want to leave his children with, if he had any. He wanted to prove himself and show how much worth he could actually bring to the table. If he ever saw his brother again, he would have a lot to say to him. A lot to really get off his chest. He was waiting for that day and really hoped he was alive because he wanted to tell him exactly how he felt.
But that was for another time. Today he was meeting this Night Fell again and they were supposedly going to make a long journey east to new lands. He didn't know what the hell he was in for, but he assumed it was going to be a long a** trip. He didn't mind the traveling so much as the talking. He wasn't a very talkative male and being all friendly with someone else really frightened him. He was going to try though and he was really going to see how this whole thing went because if a pack was formed, he wanted to be on someone's good side at least.
He walked to the area they said they would meet. By the small pond with the dead tree trunk off to the right and he paused looking around for him. He wasn't hard to miss. He was a very distinctive looking wolf as was he. "This is a complete load of crap I bet.." He said under his breath as he waited.

 While he had been attempting to be a little more careful with his movements, as of late, Night Fell had managed to maneuver his way back into the forest lands. It was a refreshing change from the harsh environment he'd found himself in. The growth of trees and life that were ever present. The lush feeling of grass and ground that did not burn ones paws. Yet, for as soothing as the forest could be, it no longer felt welcoming to the black and white marbled wolf. No, it felt foreboding. Like there were eyes constantly watching him. And there possibly could have been. He was not welcome in certain territories. Of course, that was only if he got caught again.
Sighing, Night Fell continued on the pathway he'd been slinking about. He had recently run in to another wolf that had gone through some hardships. One that had seemed as lost in life as Night Fell had started his own birth in to this world. He felt drawn to these wolves, the one that were misfits in some way or form. Honestly, he had not really thought the other would be interested in the grand idea he spoke of. But it gave him some encouragement. Some hope that just maybe, he and Soul Thief were on the right track.
"Hey, ding-dong! Pay attention." Said raccoon thumped him on the head.
Night Fell shook his head, snapping his teeth sideways to try and nab his paw. Thief just laughed. "Oooooh~ Such as scary big bad wolf. Look, you almost passed the dead tree trunk, idiot."
"Maybe your stench is confusing my senses." He replied with a snort, angling himself towards the tree trunk he had told Rebellion to meet him at. Night Fell glanced around, relying on Thief to watch his blind side. The other was not there just yet, so the pair ducked inside the dead tree. Where they had stashed a few morsels to take back to the desert with them. Hopefully, the meat wouldn't spoil before they reached the others. Not that there were many. Just a small handful of wolves that had been willing to follow him to the desert lands and hadn't bothered to leave yet.
Thief thumped him again. Before Night Fell could respond or react, he heard the sound of another wolf approaching. The pair waited, listening. Sniffing at the air, the alpha felt his muscles relax.
"That's what I keep telling him." Thief happily chirped up, clambering out of the tree trunk to observe this new wolf from a safe spot. "But he's an idiot so why do I bother?"
Night Fell emerged from the tree trunk as well, regarding Rebellion with a friendly expression. "Ah, Rebellion! Y'came. Glad to see that I talked some sense in to yer head. The overgrown rodent is my brother, Soul Thief. He'll unfortunately be traveling with us." The alpha shot a look at the raccoon before letting his blue eye settle back on Rebellion once more. "Fair warning, my friend. The life I am offering you will not be easy. The land we travel to is harsh and unforgiving. Not many will survive it. But, those that can master it will find they can handle almost any obstacle life may throw at them."
He had not lied or painted any pictures of a grand paradise. What he offered was a second chance. A place to feel welcomed. A strange and misfit family. They would have to work hard and pull their own weight. And their moral compass wouldn't point very straight. But there was potential to create a paradise. Only if those wolves that followed him were courageous enough to try.
