There's a bubbly and friendly exterior shown to most by the active Margarita. She's a genuinely social and outgoing person who often is known for her countless clubs and sports activities, which only come second to her sorority. She's devoted her life, time, and energy to keeping the sorority in working shape in the past six years she's been there. She's known for keeping an eye out for every member under her guidance, even at the expense of he own time and patience. However, under the bubbly surface, she's often making authoritative moves to ensure everything can and will go the way she intends. She's not one who will take nos or full insubordination from individuals she already sees as understanding. She rules with an iron fist decorated with rose god pillows. She doesn't often realize how controlling she can be, and when it is pointed out she often uses her older age and knowledge as her main defense. Margarita suffers from a slight superiority complex, believing she often knows what best for everyone because of it. She is right most of the time, but often the means don't justify the ends.

Born from a fifth generation set of curandero parents in the sunny central valleys of California, life had always been good for Margarita. Being the eldest of seven children, she inherited the important role of inheriting the family title as Curandera for the local Xican community. Unlike most European "witch" cultures, Curanderismo has been an accepted part of the community and is open to those who know of it. The fear of other creatures, witch hunters, and everything else that goes bump in the night was mostly faraway in her understanding. The only things she dealt with as a child was ghosts and protecting her siblings from the occasional closet monster.
But she had her own closet monsters to deal with. Magic was easy to accept among the Xican community. Homosexuality was still slow to accept after centuries of imperialism and cultural oppression. While remaining open to the community about her magic, she kept her sexuality a secret buried away from anyone who wasn't family.
School was easy. Margarita had brains and brawn, being a high-ranking honors student while also playing as pitcher for the school's softball team. While her grades were certainly a plus, it was her status as a minority and her softball reputation that led to her getting a sports scholarship to Westchester. But the east coast was far from the Pacific North West she always knew and loved, so she took a break year to learn what little was left from her family to know about her magical practices. In that leap year, she finally came out to her community, which was a slow but gradually accepting process.
Moving to New York was a whole new experience for the sunny and peaceful teenage Margarita. People were more curt and less warm than she was used to. The witch sorority was, at the time of her recruitment, full of mostly white girls with no understanding on how her magic even classified as witchcraft. It was a harsh beginning, but not being a quitter, the little curandera went to work. In the years Margarita has been in Delta Alpha Kappa, the sorority became more diverse and open to other cultures. Now, in the "woke" culture the internet had found itself in, their sorority was the first on campus to already meet the standards most people sought.
It's been a long time since then, and now Margarita finds herself in her last year as a post-grad student double-majoring in cognitive psychology and botany, hoping to use her knowledge in herbs to assist in the future of medication given to psychology patients. But before that big leap into true adulthood, she now has to deal with the younger members of her sorority, to see whether or not they will build their own legacy.
