Natron paced back and forth. Ever since coming out of the Rift, something in him felt like an angry, caged animal. That feeling hadn't diminished; if anything it had gotten worse, especially as Fangite and Amazonite both distanced themselves from him.
The only thing that made him feel less restless was hunting. Tracking. Chasing down auras of any side, and seeing what he found.
Tonight, it was a familiar captain.
"Fangite!" Natron said, and he prowled closer, more hungry animal than man. "So good to see you, Starshine. I've missed you."

Stupid... He had made a rookie mistake. Fangite had been oblivious to the looming presence of the General until it was too late.
The Captain about jumped out of his skin when his name was called, causing him to trip and crash into the wall beside him. He hissed, rubbing his arm before trying to draw them under his caplet as best he could. He stared at the General for a minute, trying to resist the urge to draw his face mask further up, and his hood further down. It figures the one person in the world he didn't want to see would find him looking like death. "I'm not your starshine." Fangite mumbled before turning and continuing back the way he was.
"What do you want Natron, cause you sure as s**t didn't miss me."

Natron casually teleported himself in front of Fangite, blocking him from going forward. His weapons were still in hand, and he looked more than a little bit entertained by the whole thing.
"How can you say that? Of course I missed you, love. I just want to talk with someone important to me." He frowned, a little.
"What else could I possibly want?"

Fangite made a small noise of irritation when the General cut off his path. "Really? What are you, four?" He rolled his eyes at the weapons in hand. "You didn't miss me. Not emotionally anyway. The only missing you've done with me is either missing my throat any time you try to swing those, or missing my back when you try to drive that knife in it further in than it already is." He hissed.
"What you want is me putting up with whatever, this is." Fangite groused, gesturing at Natron. "I'm not backing up some Chaos drunk General who can't even realize when he's being poisoned. Or, if anything, because I won't you want me dead. You want Airi dead, which might I add, use to be your youma. Who only bonded with me, because my idiot boyfriend was way to eager to find me a youma, when I wouldn't because I was too much of a chicken s**t"
Look where that got them all.
"But hey, what do I know. By the way, did you forget?" Fangite teleported away.
He could do it too.

Natron spread his arms, givign Fangite a brad smile. "You wound me, Starshine. I do still have feelings, whatever you seem to think of me. Just because I've gained an appreciation for the fine art of violence doesn't mean that I've stopped being able to feel pain, or longing, or loss."
He tilted his head to the side and clicked his tongue. "I'm not poisoned. My eyes have been opened. And I don't want to kill Airitech, although I am devastatingly disappointed in how soft he's become. He's a weapon of war, not a ******** housepet."
Then, Fangite vanished, and Natron hissed, whirling around. "You shouldn't have done that, Starshine!" he shouted, hoping Fangite could hear. "Now I'm annoyed!"[Mistress Morbid] i was gonna ask if fang was still in view but then it was 4 am and you, like a reasonable person, were in bed, oops

Fangite snorted from his spot on one of the roofs above as he hunkered down. Liar. He thought bitterly. Natron was chaos poisoned and he damn well knew it. It was hard not to notice who he didn't say he wanted dead though.
Yes, Airi wasn't a house pet. But he wasn't a damn weapon either. Airi was... Airi was himself. He was a friend, he was family. Natron didn't see that though.
The sound of a hiss made his lips twitch into a slight smile and he waved his hand dismissively at Natron's little threat.
Let him come. He was tired of this.
It was time to end this charade.

Natron inhaled tensely. He could feel a Captain's aura above him--it was likely Fangite, and if not, perhaps it was someone he could press into hunting with him.
So, he teleported up to the roof, and when he saw that it was, indeed, his wayward lover, he teleported again, crowding into Fangite's space. "Darling, I can do that far more than you can. Especially since I'm carrying a small reserve of energy and starseeds, so if I get tired I can just...keep...going. Do you really want to play tag tonight?"
He leaned down, putting the blade of his kusarigama under Fangite's chin and tilting his head up. "Because I'm fairly certain I'm going to win."

This time, Fangite didn't jump when Natron crowded his space. Just yawned and scrubbed at his eyes, pushing his glasses aside. "Good for you." He mumbled flatly. "I'm sure eating those are helping your chaos poisoning amazingly. What's next, you want to be a half youma? Fine. Go for it. I'm tired of trying."
"Can you not?" He grumbled, shying away from the blades edge and sitting up some. "Course you'd win. Have you even seen me? Like honestly." Course not. Natron's gaze was clouded by chaos. He wouldn't notice the changes in people around him. Not the one's Fangite had been through. "You're lucky I haven't fallen flat on my face yet. To blind to see what's going on in front of you." But whatever. He wanted to do this, fine. Let's do this.
"You gonna let me up or are you the kinda a*****e who kicks someone when they're down? Noir Songbird Well now that you dun said it fangite, its bound to happen.{/quote]

Natron rolled his eyes. "You're so dramatic," he said. "I know how to use them in moderation. I'm not going to turn into some tar-spitting feathered monster." Honestly.
"And anyway, I see plenty of what's happening to you, Starshine. It's heartbreaking. You're so weak, because you keep letting yourself get dragged down." Natron hummed, briefly. "Maybe the problem is Kerberos. I've stayed away from him just like you asked, but I can't do that forever. And if he's the reason you're so disloyal...maybe I should take care of the problem."
And, with an entirely too casual air, Natron brought his foot down on Fangite's chest, a simple answer. "I hadn't thought of it, but now that you mention it, I think I am."

Fangite snorted again. "You're one to talk." He said flatly. "If I''m dramatic I'd love to know what they call you."
The Captain mirrored the General's movement, rolling his own eyes. "If I'm weak, then it's your fault General. You're the one who brought me into this all cause your dumbass self made the mistake of teleporting into my house while powered over. You ******** me over. But you know what? That's no ones fault but your own. If I'm weak, maybe you shouldn't have left me. Maybe you should have trained me. Or, passed me off to someone else if it mattered that little to you." He waved a hand dismissively.
"If anything it's you, Natron, who is weak. It was your dumbass that dragged us into the rift. Not me. It was you who got overpowered by a youma, where as I had the common sense to bounce when I saw a bad idea. In case you forgot, it was me who freed you from the crystal. I'm not weak. You are." He sneered.
"Without me, you were as good as dead." Maybe it was better that way. "What are you, honestly, without me? What did you accomplish in the grand scheme of things, for the Negaverse, besides corrupting me?"
"But you want dramatic? Fine, Have it. We're over." He spat. "Go run back to your ex girlfriend. Maybe she'll take your sorry a** back if you beg hard enough. Maybe. But that would just be pathetic.
Fangite laughed when Natron threatened Kerberos. "Good ******** luck with that. Kerberos would dance circles around you." Both metaphorically and literally. "That's even assuming you got past her. Kerberos is stronger then you give him credit for. Stronger than I ever gave him credit for. You can't touch him.
When the boot came crashing down on his chest, Fangite swallowed the hiss. He stared at the boot for a moment before glancing at Natron. "I repeat. Pathetic. If this is how you treat people, then you might as well be a, and I quote, 'tar-spitting feathered monster.'. But maybe that's to much of an insult to Airitech. At least Airi has a soul. A heart." He stared at Natron a moment longer.
"I see now you have, and never had either."
Noir Songbird That last line is essentually fangite saying that Natron never loved him. at all

Natron actually stepped back from Fangite, gaping down at him in open shock. Every single word was like a slap.
Perhaps if Fangite weren't right about the Chaos poisoning flowing throguh his veins, those words would have made him think. Being torn apart like that might have made him pause and consider if what Fangite was saying might mean that he was over the edge. It might have hurt.
Instead, it just made him *angry.* He stormed forward again, reaching out with the intent to grab the front of Fangite's uniform and haul him up.
"If you think that I'm so ******** weak, why don't you get off your a** and prove it. You're right that I made a mistake corrupting you. I should have walked out the door that night and never come back." He spat on the ground, by Fangite's feet. "I thought I loved you. I was so blind and stupid. And I've let myself stay blind and stupid, taken in by sentiment. That's the only reason I haven't killed you for running your traitorous mouth about regretting corrupting Amazonite, or for running off to ******** your pretty Order whore."
He snarled, furiously. "I should have realized that I was nothing to you the second I learned how long I was i crystal for! How long you ******** abandoned me for! You talk about how you freed me, but you wouldn't even have tried without Amazonite dragging you down. You say I never loved you? You never gave a single flying ******** about me, and I let you play me for way, way too long. So shut up and fight me, so we can finally both be done with this!"

Fangite would be lying if he said he hadn't momentarily panicked when Natron reached for his chest. He'd had his seed frisked once in his life time. He wasn't looking to make it more than that any time soon.
"Don't have to. You've already done it. You let a loose end run rampant for how long? I should have been dead long ago and we both know it. It's just as you said. Sentiment." He grumbled, dizzy from being jerked up so fast. "Oh please. Mimsy doesn't even care that I corrupted her and in all honesty I really don't think Kerberos was as surprised by it as he made it seem like he was. Amazonite's only saving grace is she can't remember what she left behind."
Fangite snorted, shoving Natron away. "Are you really being this childish right now? Is that what you're upset about? Me and Kerberos? What about you huh? Did you think I didn't know about that little Lieutenant you keep paying visits to?" Honestly, what was this?
"You were nothing to me? I was the one who told you to corrupt me. Cause I knew you were in trouble after walking in like that." Fangite screamed. "You were everything to me. Are everything to me." He yelled, dropping to his knees again with his fists disappearing into his hair. "Do you know how long I grieved for? Thinking you were dead before Amazonite finally found you? I thought you were dead Gabriel. Then I get told you're in fact, alive but crystallized. I didn't know what to do. What good to you would I have been if I'd gotten stuck too? Do you have any idea how bad I wanted to free you? To be with you?" The Captain's voice cracked as he slammed his fist against the roof. "And then I finally get you back but you're this thing. You're still gone and this time I don't know how to save you. Don't know how to help you. And I've lost everything because of it."
Not that Natron cared. All he wanted anymore was to fight. Be it verbally, physically, mentally or emotionally.
Fangite stood, pulling off his hood and face mask as he did. "I'm done. I'm not fighting you Gabriel." Not anymore. "Just kill me. Just be done with it already and free us both." He said, staring the General down.
The next thing he knew, his world went black.

Of all the things Natron was prepared for, none of what Fangite was saying was it. His grip went slack on Fangite's uniform as soon as he was shoved, and he stared with wide eyes as Fangite insisted that he was wrong. That he did matter to the man he loved.
He'd been prepared for a fight. He wasn't prepared for surrender.
The surrender was enough to crack through layers of chaos poisoning, when nothing else had. To shatter the emotional crystal Natron had remained in even after he was freed from the literal one.
When Fangite collapsed, he jolted forward, catching his falling body, and he swallowed tightly.
"I'm sorry, Starshine. Let's go home," he said, and he scooped Fangite up into a bridal carry and teleported them out.
