Warren Redeemed
King Joxer looked out over the beginnings of Bramblefell and smiled to himself. This was the start of something amazing and he could not wait to watch his kingdom grow. He could hear the sounds of Maze and Uzo deep in the tangle, digging and carving out the first burrows of their home. He supposed he should join them soon but he was enjoying the setting sun falling across his domain. He had so many plans and ideas and now he just needed to find the loyal rabbits who would help make his visions into reality.

Swift had found a patch of mint that was full and bushy and fragrant! He was carrying a sizable bushel of it back to his burrow when he noticed a rather large and handsome rabbit standing proudly on a hill overlooking a very nice area of the Tanglewood. He hopped over and gazed up in wonder at this glorious bun. He put down his mint and feeling strangely compelled to do so, he bowed and said, “excuse me good sir?”

Joxer was interrupted from his grand scheming and planning by a small voice at his side. Glancing down he saw a young rabbit.. bowing to him. Oh yes, he liked that very much indeed. He smiled at the small buck and lifted his head imperiously. “Well hello there.” His shrewd eyes immediately noted the large bunch of mint the rabbit had deposited next to him. “What a lovely, fresh bunch of mint you have found. How very clever you are.” He gave the rabbit another magnanimous grin as his brain began turning and tumbling over a half formed idea.

Swift blushed, his nose turning even pinker than usual. He looked up “Thank you. I couldn’t help but notice your majesty. Is that a crown? You must be a great rabbit indeed!” He bowed again and nudged the mint forward. “If you like this mint I will leave it as a gift for you. It is no trouble. I have so much of it… and other things too.” He kept his head lowered and waited, heart racing, to see what this glorious bun might do.

Joxer could not contain his grin as it spread across his face. “Well my, my, what a very accommodating and giving rabbit you are!” He tipped his crown his direction and nodded sagely. “Yes, my name is King Joxer and all you see here is my realm.” He majestically gestured out to the brambles of Bramblefell. With a calculating glint in his eye he graced the buck with a gentle, graceful paw to his bowed head. “I would love to see what other things your clever little paws have found.”

Swift trembled with excitement. “Oh I would love to show you! I couldn’t possibly carry all of it though. It’s not just food either. I have found shiney things and dye berries…” He paused thoughtfully and shook his head. “Sorry I don’t usually ramble. If you’d like to follow me I can show you, it’s not far from here.”

Joxer nodded in bemusement at the little rambling thing. He did oh so love shiny things. “Lead on my little friend. What shall I call you?” As he turned to follow the rabbit to his gatherings, he made a quick nod into the brambles, knowing that Maze had already been listening and watching. As if he would follow some random rabbit into the woods without a faithful guardian at his back. She knew to keep her distance and not alert anyone to her presence. Joxer turned his attentions back to this curiously innocent creature in front of him.

Swift blushed again. “My name is Swift. Follow me Good King Joxer!” He led the way, darting quickly through the brambles, to a small hole barely visible beneath a tangle of thorns. “This way.” He said before squeezing through the small opening. It was only the entrance that was small as it immediately opened up into a large burrow. It was easily big enough for ten rabbits. Lining the walls were organized piles. There were pretty stones, flowers, grasses, herbs, berries, and shiny things from worlds unknown. There were also some things like pinecones, interesting twigs, and bird feathers. Swift gestured proudly at this seasons haul. Then bowed again, “does this please the good king?”

Joxer followed along the swift little Swift and just managed to squeeze his bulk into the burrow opening. Though once he was inside it was lovely and open and oh so full of treasure. “Oh Swift how very good you are at this!” The King exclaimed as his eyes roved hungrily over all that was there to see. “This is very pleasing indeed.” He smiled down at the infatuated rabbit and decided to test the waters. “You seem very good at foraging for food and other… fascinating objects.” He said this last part while grazing his paw over a particularly shiny stone. His eyes caught in its depths before turning his full, kingly attentions back to Swift. “Is this something you enjoy and want to continue doing?”

Joxer smiled excitedly and placed his paw on Swift's shoulder. "I would love to be your king," he said sweetly. "And my clever little Swift, I have the perfect position for you within my kingdom." Joxer began leading the sweet young rabbit back to Bramblefell, his mind already turning with thoughts of how the new Forager division should run with such a loyal rabbit as its Captain.
