Mother nature was often fascinating in that one week there will be thick dark clouds looming over head threatening to burst at any moment then the next there are nights like this. A navy blue almost black curtain over head, lightning to an almost violet color on the horizon. As the sun continued its descent, the thin line of vibrant pink all but disappeared as the minutes passed.

A calm peace settled around Meridiana as she sat on a stone bench with a memorial plate in memory of someone who had recently passed away. Her long rosey-pink colored hair pooled on the ground behind her as she leaned back, head tilted up towards the star scattered sky as she absently twirled a tri-colored rose in one hand.

Times like this she wished that she could teleport like Zinkenite if only so she could escape the city lights and retreat to the lighthouse… her lighthouse on her grandfather's property; the place he would take he ras a child to tell stories and eat smores while listening to the sound of waves crash against the cliffs edge. But that ability was a privilege and had to be earned, something she had not done yet.

“Soon…” Meridiana whispered softly to herself, lifting the rose she brushed her red painted lips over the velvety petals, simply enjoying the subtle scent.

Calm nights like this were nights Michelle enjoyed immensely. Or, well, she typically enjoyed them but today had been a difficult day at work. Children screaming, new books she had to find space for on the shelves because they were in her section, and she'd managed to at least roll her ankle if not sprain it while taking care of everything else.

Today simply wasn't a good day, but the night seemed so, so nice that even with everything else seeming to go wrong, she had a small smile on her face as she made her way to the bench and sat, keeping one leg out in front of her at an angle to try and keep from putting weight on it even as she sat.

"Waiting for the bus, or waiting for someone?" She couldn't help the curiosity in her voice as she spotted the woman sitting beside her, watching without malice, just more curiosity even as she spotted the rose. "That's a really pretty rose, by the way. Get it for someone special? Or from someone special?"

Twirling the rose between her finger and thumb, Meridiana hummed thoughtfully. “There was someone I had been hoping to run into but it seems they had other plans for the evening.” Unfortunately, she couldn’t simply call them and ask since they were on opposing factions. Still, she had hoped to run into that vibrantly dressed senshi again.

“I found this at the store earlier and thought it was beautiful and unique. Unfortunately, orange doesn’t really seem to suit me so I thought I’d find someone who might enjoy it more.” She smiled genuinely and with a tilt of her head Meridiana actually took in the woman's appearance, how she sat with one leg stretched out with an almost exhausted smile on her face. “You look like you’ve had a rough day. Feel like unloading your burdens on a stranger? I’ve been told I’m a good listener.”

"I'm sorry your friend wasn't able to come see you. Seems such a shame. I hope their plans go well and that the two of you are able to meet up soon." Michelle knew what it was like when someone else had plans, even if they'd had plans themselves...she just hoped that wasn't what was happening here.

Surely that didn't happen with anyone else.

"Orange is a hard color to match things with, it tends to go with greens and blues, though, balancing it out instead of going with reds. It goes with cooler colors to try and well. Balance it." She trailed off lamely before shifting her weight awkwardly.

"Ah, I've...had a day, that's one way to put it for sure. Rolled or sprained my ankle and things were just...well. A bit more difficult than they tend to be for me at work. Usually my job is quite enjoyable."

I hope I can meet him again soon too. Meridiana smiled, appreciating the well wishes for what they were worth. It would have been easy to forget about the white moon senshi had she not of run into Whisler; a Transcended Knight that bore a striking resemblance to the only other person that had held her with any sort of tenderness.

Twirling the rose between her index finger and thumb she hummed thoughtfully. “It sounds like quite the rough day. Unfortunately, I’m no doctor but you may want to consider going to the hospital. “ In all honesty, she was quite surprised that her boss didn’t take her there themselves if only to avoid any potential legal action for making her work while injured.

“I wish there was something I could do to help with your ankle,” But as she was, Meridiana didn’t have the ability to teleport herself or anyone; not yet anyway. That and her communicator crystal was only useful for contacting other agents not the police to get an ambulance here for her.

She looked up then and watched the woman closely. Exhaustion just seemed to roll off her in waves and while Meri would have normally taken the opportunity to siphon a little bit of energy for her quota, she didn’t feel like it would be appropriate in this case. If only because doing so might leave her too weak and cause her to injure herself further.

“It’s not much, but-” The Senshi of the Succubus turned to offer her the rose. “Maybe this might help make your day end on a little bit of a higher note.”

“I don’t know if you believe in destiny, but given that is the name of the city we live in I can’t help but believe that the reason I got this was to give to you.” Something had pushed her to purchase it, not for herself, but for someone else. Although at the time neither name or a face came to mind which made her believe that it was because she simply hadn’t met them yet.

"Nah, I'll be alright once I get home. I've been keeping it propped up when I could at work. I couldn't afford to just leave, not when it would've cost more money than I have to be told what I already knew. The only benefit would've been pain medicine, and..I've got plenty of tylenol and ibuprofen at home as it is." Michelle gave a small smile to the other woman.

"My ankles like to roll, so I have this happen all the time. I'm usually not so bad off, but I can still walk on it so it's okay. I just need to take it easy for a few days until it stops, and most of my work can be delegated or made easier for me, so I'm not too worried."

Then the woman was offering the beautiful rose, and Michelle's eyes lit up. "Are you certain about that?" Of course, it wasn't as if a rose stayed beautiful forever, so it couldn't be saved really, but giving it to [i[her? That seemed...

"I would love it. And destiny is a rather strange thing. I felt myself pulled here, to this town, and things have...well, they've sure been interesting since I came here." Her mind flashed to a boy jumping her off of the roof of the library after an impromptu jam session, and how there seemed to be a neat divide between the kids who were sweet and who were salty at the world around them.

Destiny was weird, but it sure kept things interesting.

“The longer you’re here the more predictable it starts to become,” Especially with October and Halloween right around the corner, things were bound to get even more strange. “The oddities of this city start to feel somewhat normal after a few years.” Granted she only felt that way after she powered up and learned more of the war between the White Moon and the Dark Kingdom.

Meridiana broke off a large portion of the stem leaving only a few inches of length, just enough to put into a small vase or glass when she got home. For now, though, she reached out to comb her fingers through the woman's hair and move it to the side so she could tuck the rose behind her ear.

The corrupt smiled then leaned back, her deep blue eyes looked the woman over appraisingly. “You look beautiful,” she commented honestly. “If it isn’t too forward of me to ask, may I ask your name?”

"Goodness, I hope it doesn't take years for it to feel normal," Michelle laughed, leaning back in the bench. "I like to think I can adjust to places pretty quick, but I only ever really moved twice in my life so it's taking a bit more to adjust this time I guess."

Her eyes moved to what the other woman was doing with the rose with an expression of confusion, followed by a bright blush as the flower was tucked into her hair, eyes wide as it took her a long, long moment to respond. Surely it wasn't so hard to give her name, was it?

"I -- Michelle. My name's Michelle. What-- what's yours?" Her heart was racing even as she tried to cool her face -- how embarrassing to blush so brightly to one compliment! To having a rose put in her hair -- one that she reached up to touch gently, making sure it was secure behind her ear, her hair.

Michelle, The corrupt’s head leaned to the side curiously. She smiled then as the woman reached up to gingerly touch the delicate flower petals.

“Your name is as beautiful as you are.” The compliment came as easy to her as did the simple act of breathing. Both second nature but that didn’t mean it was at all insincere. “It is nice to meet you Michelle. My name is Meri,” The name she offered was a bit of a half truth as her civilian name was under lock and key while powered and her senshi name was too much of a mouthful for anyone to remember. Meri, however, was close enough to Mary that it was hard to forget.

“I should probably get going though, it’s been a long day for us both it seems.” Meridiana rose to her feet and brushed the wrinkles out of the back of her dress. “Please be safe Michelle.” The nights were getting longer and there was no telling what monsters were lurking about as the seasons began to change. As she was, Meridiana was tame by comparison because she knew when not to take advantage of someone who was hurt; but there that simply didn't care.

Any chance she had of fighting her blush away was dashed by Meri's words. Luckily (or maybe not so luckily), it seemed Meri was leaving to wherever she needed to go to, so there wouldn't be quite so much blushing.

"I'll be safe. I don't think there's anything lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce on me. I don't have anything a mugger would want, anyway." She smiled, not thinking beyond muggers and homeless people. "You stay safe, too, okay?"

Almost as if timed just so, the bus Michelle had been waiting for turned around the corner, headed for where Michelle was still sitting on the bench. At this hour, there weren't many people riding -- but she was grateful that the bus ran so late in the day.

"There's my ride, heh," she chuckled, moving to carefully stand on her feet. "The bus is plenty safe, so...you be careful, Meri!" Her footsteps were uneven as she moved to wait for the bus, which came to a halt with a screech and a whoosh, door opening to let her on.
