{Might be more interesting if other people joined at some point..? o.O But for now I'll leave it PRP I guess 8D'}

The graveyard was usually dim and dank, but the sun's light was making it almost... tolerable as it rose up into the sky. A small grey hyena-marked cub sat inside a makeshift den that was, in actuality, a large elephant skull. She stirred softly, ear flicking as she slowly awoke. With a yawn, Amleth opened her large crimson eyes, gazing blearily around the skull. It took her a few seconds to remember why she wasn't by the waterhole, and the events of the evening before swam back to her. She arched her back in a stretch, and it was then that she spotted the purple cub snoozing nearby. She lifted a brow, confused, and nudged Duhushi with a paw. "Hey, wake up! Whatcha doin' here, I thought you went home!" she tugged his ear lightly.

Duhushi felt the soft warmth of the sun as it began to warm the bones. An ear twitched when he felt a paw press against him. A green eye slowly opened and a sleepy moan left his maw. "Good morning Amleth." The soft tug on his ear caused him to stretch. "I decided not to. I couldn't leave you here alone to be picked up by a hyena." That was only half the reason but the small cub wasn't in the mood to talk about it.

Stepping back and blinking, Amleth made a face. Not like two sleeping cubs could take on a hyena, but she appreciated that he was concerned. "Won't your parents be worried that you stayed out here all night?" she inquired, seating herself and scratching behind her left ear with a hindpaw.

Duhushi stepped closer and tugged at her ear playfully. "Don't worry. My father doesn't mind so much." He smiled and laughed. "He only caares if I don't come back but I fairly certain that i will."

Amleth grinned and batted at him. "Well, alright, if you say so.." She yawned again, rubbing at her sleepy eyes with a paw. "Can we get food now? Only, it's breakfast time and all.." She grinned in a manner that she hoped was winning.

Duhushi looked out from his perch on the masive tusk. "There are probably some field mice but you'll have to be fast." HE looked to her with a smug expression. "Are you sure that you won't be out-smarted by them?"

Amleth stuck her tongue out at him. "I am USED to getting my own food. I am independant and stuff. Unlike you, FLUFFY." She lept out of the skull and flattened herself to the ground, slinking under a pile of bones in search of small animals. She poked her head up a few feet away and frowned. "Don't your parents get food for you or somethin'?"

Duhushi cringed at her calling him fluffy. "I get my own food while mother's away. I want to show her that I can do it." He lumped an slid down the tusk as if he did it all the time. "I'm sure you can handle a little slide." Duhushi mocked as he pranced away looking for mice

Amleth noted his cringe and sighed. "Soorrry, you're not /that/ fluffy." she conceded, following him down the tusk. As he mentioned hunting for himself she snorted a little. "'Course I can handle it." She landed on her rump and shook dust off before trotting after him. "So, mice...t hey just hang around waiting for us to catch 'em?" She inquired, nosing a rock as if expecting a mouse to be hiding under it. "I'm a fisher myself," she explained haughtily, lest he think she was inadept at hunting in general.

Duhushi laughed and searched under the massive skeletal structures. "The don't just sit and wait to be captured. They have so many places to hide and mock us." A flash of movement caught his eye and the hungry cub pawed at it. "You have to get them by the tail. It's a very precise way you have to catch mice." He looked back at her when the movement ceased. "I've never fished before..."

"Right, well.." Amleth watched Duhushi from the corner of her eye, watching how he hunted in order to pick up some tips. She crouched down and looked around for the fuzzy little beasts. She thought she spotted one and lunged forward, only to run smack into a large thighbone as the rodent scurried under it. "Oww.." the cub sat back and rubbed a lump on her skull. "Stupid mouse.. fishing is so much easier than this.." She looked over at Duhushi and grinned. "Well sometime you should come with the waterhole and I can teach you!"

Duhushi laughed when she hit the bone. His own catch lost the small cub crouched back down to look still chuckling under his breath. "I've never used that technique Amleth." His tail swished as he spotted another form scurry across his gaze. "But I believe I'll use my own." Duhushi jerked forward. His paws went easily between the cracks and when they emerged a small mouse was caught underneath his paws. With a sound of approval he picked the small mouse up in his jaws. The cub took joy in knowing the mouses fear as it was left alive between his jaws. Duhushi pranced around Amleth with as smug a look as he could muster without moving his mouth.

"Hmph," the greyish cub snorted, rubbing the lump on her head tenderly. "Well, you've had like...practice. And stuff." She eyed the tiny creature hungrily as Duhushi toyed with it. "Are you gonna eat that or what?" She slunk towards him. "I get the feeling you're just teasing me, now.." the hyena-marked cub waggled her tail, as though she was considering pouncing Duhushi and taking the mouse right out of his jaws..

Duhushi nodded and closed his jaws done hard. The small grey mouse let out a squeak before it was silenced. His prey dropped to the ground as he licked his horribly bloody maw. "I haven't had that much practice. I tend to get lucky most of the time." The purple cub would never admit that he was a effective hunter to the female. Green eyes watched her rub her head and the small cub wandered closer. "Did you hurt yourself when you hit that bone?" A smirk crossed his now clean maw as he began to lick the top of her head.

Amleth watched the mouse drop and frowned, hungry. "Hmph, no matter how many you catch, mice are just snacks!" she said, brow furrowing. She allowed herself to be licked, lowering her head slightly. "We should go catch somethin' bigger... like.. like something...else." she finished lamely.

Swampieestar

Duhushi chuckled as he continued licking her head. "Do you wanna get yourself killed? We would have to go to the pridelands for something bigger..." The cub nuzzled her gently. "I'm not old enough to protect you yet." Amleth was definately growing on him and he actually didn't mind. Of course hr pelt would always be a subject to avoid.

Amleth looked sulky. "Naah, there's.. stuff, like, rabbits and stuff," She said, waving a paw vaguely. "Plus, I heard the Pridelanders are really...nice," she trailed off. Frowning, she whapped him playfully with the flat of her forepaw. "AND I can protect myself!"

Swampieestar

Duhushi laughed. "Rabbits?...I haven't seen a live rabbit around here fr quite some time." Pridelanders were nice but he couldn't trust the animals within them. "The lions themselves are very nice but they have larger prey that could do us harm easily." Laughing lightly at her frown and the feeling of her paw he shook his head. "I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if you got hurt while with me."

Taejira

"I saw a couple on my way here from the water hole," Amleth informed him. "But I couldn't catch 'em by myself, is all." She nudged Duhushi. "And I'll be fine. I'm tough!" She puffed herself up to emphasize her point, baring tiny needle-sharp fangs.

Swampieestar

Startled by the fact that there were rabbits, he smiled. "You talk about this waterhole a lot Amleth." It had been where she supposedly stayed. "Maybe we should go visit it...sometime." Duhushi returned her playful nudge with a soft lick. "I believe it..." He rolled his soft green eyes and shook his head. "You are quite the little trick my dear."
