If this is a movie discussion thread now, then I would like to share some of my favorite movies and why they are my fave movies with you .

#1 -- Monty Python and the Holy Grail (Yay British humor! "Well, she turned me into a newt!" "A newt?" "...I got better...")

#2 -- ANY Miyazaki movie (Awesome animation and great storylines/characters)

#3 -- Gattaca (Very in-depth movie that raises a lot of questions.)

Well, that's my top 3. I don't feel like listing the rest.

By the way, can this be used as a general media forum?

I wanted to go see that on Friday, but, damnit it's rater R. I wouldn't be able to buy tickets cause mom would have to come with me. Rawr.

Mmm. Movie discussion sounds great. ^^

I'm rather partial to older movies like "The Count of Monte Cristo", "Saturday Night Fever:, and "The Most Dangerous Game". If they're well acted and written, I'll like them. :3

Actors like John Travolta devour my soul. <3~~

As for newer movies, titles like "Lord of the Rings", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Star Wars" (ONLY the older ones. You know, the originals. <3) and those steal my heart. V for Vendetta has been added to the list. ;D Along with ANYTHING Miyazaki. <33333 Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz is up there, too.

*Worships Miyazaki-sama* Eheh, I'm a huge studio Ghibli fan. The first time I've ever cosplayed was as Nausicaa from Kaze no Teme no Nausicaa (or Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind) for a yearly research presentation we do in IDEA class, last year in sixth grade. (For lack of a better explanation, IDEA is "smart-person class." Quote my friend Carly.) I did Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki as my research topic.

I finally got to see Howl no Umoku Shiro Howl's Moving Castle! My mom bought me the DVD, because the weekend we wanted to see it was the weekend they stopped showing it. gonk Only one theatre in all of Kansas was playing it, but luckily it was only about an hour away.

And yes, I agree Capricorn, the origional Star Wars can beat the new ones any day of the week, twice on Thursday. 3nodding

Braveheart!
Directed by and starring Mel Gibson.
OMG is he hot with long hair and in a kilt. I love war and swords!

Second fave:
The Last Samurai!
I dunno who directed it, but Tom Cruise was the leading role.
The only Tom Cruise movie I ever liked. EVER. I love war AND SWORDS!

3. Armageddon, just because of the sci-fi, humor, romance, and family story all in one. Plus it has an awesome soundtrack, and it's one of Bruce Willis' better movies. There's no war, or any swords, BUT there is... ninja Rockhound. He's a great character. He's an ugly Zelos.

4. Monty Python and the Holy Grail! This movie has everything from sheer pointless randomness to a wonderful soundtrack and a reoccuring strange theme about more sheer pointless randomness. God, what's not to like about this movie?

5. Spaceballs. There's no better parody movie than this, folks. xD
