He was a curious sight, a wolf pale as snow with his pelt dyed the color of clear skies that belonged in a place far cooler than this. Starlight was a long way from home, but such a thought did not fill him with grief. Through his journey he had felt a mixture of emotions, ranging from anxiety to excitement... but never grief. Already he had seen so much, felt and experienced so many different things! He had felt fierce winds whip through his fur, the feel of ice underneath his paws. He had heard the crack of lightning through a night sky, the gentle rush of water down a fresh spring.

What in this world could he ever come to regret encountering?

Starlight was a young wolf, full of whimsy and naivete. He was someone darkness seemed to pass over, disinterested or afraid of drawing too close to his light. He was not yet full grown, but it was clear that the wolf was small and would not get much larger. There was not a creature in the world that would find him imposing - certainly not another dire wolf.

He had met a few on his travels, and none had seemed threatening. Starlight had enough sense to try and stay away from pack lands, since he suspected that others would be adamant about protecting them. The young wolf was deep in the forest, where the thicket was dense and the trees tightly packed. As he moved, he seemed to skip from one spot to the next, chasing down the few beams of sunlight that managed to make it to the forest floor.

It was... beautiful, and he was sure someone would think him silly for such a thought. But genuinely, in this moment, he believed the world around him to be the greatest sight any creature could witness.
