While Chip could be a very focused Mau, he also had dozens of different projects in mind at any given time, so he occasionally jumped between ideas. Today, for instance, he was thinking about coffee, and his Coffee Fabricator [Mauvian Patent Pending] was still unfinished. He had a few ideas to try today, and had... "acquired" from Destiny City a few forms of coffee out there, and was putting the machine--incomplete and strewn with spare parts as it was--through its paces. His Fabricator was whirling, clanking, and bubbling...and a hopefully-pleasing-to-humans smell was definitely making its way around the room, and out the door a little ways. The little kitten watched the progress as one of the coffee varieties work its way through the machine, his tail flicking from side to side in anticipation.

Given the rather... touchy last encounter he had with Wolframite, ‘Mali had not really shown his face around the Negaverse Barracks in a week or so. It honestly wasn’t a place he frequented very often at all unless he had a prior engagement arranged... Yet here he was, pacing around, both hoping for and dreading the possibility of encountering the friend he had hurt.
It wasn’t as if the incident that took place was on purpose, and even though at the time it seemed like an alright idea, one really shouldn’t have simply brought someone to their home to stitch up things.... Somehow, even with those things in mind, ‘Mali ended up the bad guy, hurting more than one person’s feelings.. And while he did manage to make up with one... Wolfy was a bit tougher...
Perhaps that was why he was. Pacing around here, looking for a reason beyond a simple ‘apology’ to go to the halfling’s room. Nothing seemed like enough of an excuse though.
While pondering these thoughts, a strange smell came across his nose. Not wholly unpleasant, but a strange combination of cheap coffee and greased gears. Curiosity won out over his own brooding, so he followed his nose, right into a strange little side closet... And said closet was open and harboring a tiny kitten and a very peculiar contraption.
Normally he’d ignore such unusual encounters, but... It was a kitten. And he hadn’t exactly seen Obie much lately who may have been up to her own tasks. There was no harm in investigating this potentially illegal situation.
“May I ask, what are you up to that smells so... Unique?” ‘Mali asked, leaning against the frame of the door. Part of him wanted to kneel down and get a better look at this cat but no need for such stooping as of yet. With the way Mauvians did things, it could be deadly for all he knew.

Right on queue, as if to answer the senshi who just arrived, a sputtering, weirdly churning noise emitted from the side, and Chip gave the human an open-mouthed smile. "Why, coffee, of course! I'm working on making the best coffee fabricator anyone's ever seen!" Spurrrrrrrrrrrr SPLORT, the machine seemed to say, and then there was a tiny, "Ding!" before an ever so slightly dingy looking coffee mug (it appeared to have been scraped and singed a few times, possibly very recently, but otherwise was clean) popped out of a little door, with steaming black liquid within. "See? Its latest product! Try some!" Chip declared. "Humans are much better at deciding if coffee's good or not than I am..."

"Coffee? Can a kitten like you even drink such a thing?" The whole situation was becoming curiouser and curiouser, enough so that he took a seat down beside the kitten and watched the mug pop out. His expression only had a slight look of horror on it as he looked at the mug and the kitten told him to try some.
... Honestly, though, the wee thing was too cute to simply refuse.
"If I take a taste, then you will help me figure out something." This wasn't a question, but a statement of fact as 'Mali picked up the banged up mug and took a sip. Immediately he frowned.
"A coffee fabricator? Could you truly call it that when this coffee is 'already fabricated'?" He gazed at the contents of the mug, swirling it around to see if what he thought he tasted was true. And it was.
"Kitten, this is Nescafe Classico.... Instant coffee... My gods, did you even clean your machine since the last batch? It's thick and sludgy on the bottom." To empasis, he stuck a finger in, not thinking about the heat, and scraped off a thick glob of gluey substance and showed it off to the kitten. "For something that is to be the 'best coffee fabricator', I'd have to say you're falling short. You have all these gears and mechanisms, use something to grind *fresh* beans. And clean the inside of your machine. Deposits of old experiments remain behind so you must rid them of it... Try again, little one."

"It smells okay," Chip hedged in reply to the question of if he can drink it...Truth be told, he didn't drink it. But he left that unsaid. He nodded readily at the "request," and waited in anticipation for the results. Admittedly, He'd only churned out a few complete mugs at this point, to variable levels of success. But he'd tried something slightly different this time, and he had high hopes. Said hopes were quickly dashed, and his ears dropped slightly at the response. He nodded slowly, but quickly perked up. "You'll be perfect!" he declared, jumping up onto a spare pipe to be closer to eye level. "That's exactly what it was!" Clearly, being told he did something awful was only a brief setback. "If you can pick it out so easy, then I'll bet you'll be able to tell when I've done great stuff with it, too!" He bounced around happily. "The powder stuff is no fun anyway, it just dribbles right through my grinders."

"Perfect? Perfect for what?" This kitten didn't think he'd try this again for a second time, did he?
"... I suppose that's true. I have a knack for taste testing and the like.... Ah, but before I offer any further 'free advice', you will fulfill my request." 'Mali drew in a little closer, giving the kitten a little look over. How small... How cute...
"I need something built for a half-youma, one with very large ha--- paws. Wolf-like paws. But I've run into a problem. I don't know the what to make. And likely not the how either, as my expertise lies in edible crafts. I heard that Mauvians were good at the whole tinkering thing, so perhaps you could offer me a good suggestion."

Chip’s tail flicked behind him as he watched the senshi intently, apparently not fussed by the response he got. “Something for a half youma,” Chip replied in a musing tone, looking up and to the side. “How vague...a challenge!” He bounced once. “I’m sure I can make something for your youma friend!” He nodded, then advanced to a pile of parts. “Hmm, hmm, oh! I know just the thing!” He declared, and started pawing at objects, shuffling stuff around with clangs and scrapes. “Big paws must be so unwieldy, we can make some small, hand-sized paws that he can control with the big ones, Yeah!”

At first, 'Mali thought this had been a good idea. The kitten was already rummaging around and getting into the crafting spirit. He was eager to hear just what exactly he had in mind.
And yet when he did, he had to put a stop to it immediately. Before Chip could go any further, he was scooped up into Mali's arms, pulling him away from the next supposed tool for this extra pair of paws.
"No, no, that won't do at all! He is still a half-youma. He can glamour to have human hands if he needs 'smaller paws'. I'd much rather come up with something more.. Practical. I'm certain you are bright enough to come up with something much more... clever." Mali shifted the kitten in his arms a little, holding him with one arm, and then adjusting his little hat properly with his free hand.
"Ah, I should perhaps give you a name for this order. I am Zubeneschamali. You may call me 'Mali' for short, little one."

As he was scooped up, a shiny copper gear clattered on the ground, and he hung in the man's hand for a moment, a bit disappointed, before he wriggled around to look up. "Oh. Don't want that...? But it'd be so cool!" He pawed the air a little. "Okay...Hmm..." "Well, Mr. Mali," he said thoughtfully, trying to sound like he was the one in control. "About your friend. What's he like to do? If you don't want something that does everything, then we gotta find something specific!"

"Cool or no, it's a little redundant. It should be something new not something he already has." Once the kitten stopped squirming, 'Mali placed him properly on a nearby shelf, where they could see each other eye to eye.
"What he likes...?" ... Now that he thought about it, he knew very few things about Wolframite. He liked alchohol... And Sex, apparently. He liked to hunt, and soft things, and perhaps fighting...
And the Negaverse. He loved the Negaverse... Something 'Mali could never truly understand or connect with...
It hit him suddenly... They weren't truly that close... Were they? In the next moment, he frowned.
"I'm not quite sure.... He's a wolf person... And... I suppose I never really thought much about it..." Was that really all that the other man liked? "I'm certain you're a clever kitten, surely you can come up with something."

“Wolf person?” Chip echoed. “Oh! I think I know who you mean~” He nodded, happy to know something. “All I really know for sure about him is that his room is one of the most boring in the whole place here!” His tail flicked around, brushing Mali’s wrist. “But, okay. Next question~! What do you do with him? You wanna give him a gift, so there must be something ya do together, right?”

”You know of him?” ... With how huge the Negaverse could seem at times, it seemed highly unlikely... Then again, cats couldn’t travel all that easily from what he knew of them. Maybe he had seen Wolframite here or there. Especially given that they were in the barracks now.
As he thought more on how to answer the question, ‘Mali’s hand wandered onto Chip’s head, giving him a little pet on his ears, then trailing it to scratch under his chin... Kittens were such precious little things...
“Well... I am not sure... Something that would let us just... sit around and hang around... And he has such large paws... Perhaps maybe a cross-platform gaming device... With controllers that can be mounted into a larger extension so he could play... Does that make sense? I can provide him with a proper television, but to save space, maybe you can combine all of the systems together... Certainly you could do something like that right?”

"Gaming," Chip said, his tiny body purring ever so slightly as he was petted. "Yeah, I think I could manage that. I'll need to get those things to put 'em together, but that shouldn't be too tough." He wiggled excitedly, imagining possibilities. "I rebuilt some of the computers we've got, to make 'em better," he said proudly, not bothering to elaborate on exactly how. "Combining some of those other ones shouldn't be too tough! Sounds like a fun little challenge to me."

"Just make a list of what you need, and I can provide you with them. It won't be too hard to acquire anything you may need." There was atleast some benefit to having plenty of money to spare. The idea of just being able to play a game or two with his friend really did sound appealing, but then the "coffee machine" in the background caught his gaze again and he frowned.
"And that's all I would like for him. Nothing extra, nothing food related. Food and electronics typically don't mesh well. How soon do you think you could get this taken care of, once I gave you the assets you request?"

"Food?" Chip asked, mystified. "What's that got to do with it? Did somebody make a game system out of a cheeseburger?" He shook his head. "Anyway, lemme get you a list! Mostly just the game consoles you wanna put together, and their controllers, so I can work out what should go where." "It'll probably only take a day or two once ya get me the stuff!"
