Weiss

"Don't worry mom, I will." Weiss could hardly contain her eye roll. She knew her mom's parting comments were out of love, but Weiss was excited to be out on her own. Finally free of their home, and able to be out on her own. Still, she hugged her mom and waved goodbye as she dived back beneath the waves.

Now officially on her own, Weiss decided to swim up to the beach. Here there were all kinds of different fish she had never seen before at their deep underwater home. It felt strange being so close to the sun and seeing the sky. A pale blue reflection of her home below. Then as she came up to the surface Weiss saw her first-ever human. More importantly, he saw her. It was so strange seeing someone walk on legs. All things she had read about, but never witnessed before. She was almost mesmerized by the strange movement. He was walking towards her, so curiously she swam closer to shore. Perhaps it was a bit reckless, but he didn't look like he was going to hurt her. Class? Paladin? "Weiss." She said confidently when he asked her name. He brought something strange from his bag. It was all green and red with black dots. That was until he said some funny words and the green part and black dots vanished, leaving only the red. Slowly she took the red chunk from the male. It was cold and damp with a bit of a rough texture. "Watermelon." She repeated firmly while looking at the fruit as if to commit the word to memory. She took a small cautious bit of it. It was lightly sweet, for which she was grateful. There weren't very many sweet things under the water. Crisp and very, well, watery. "Have you met a lot of Merfolk?" She asked. He seemed to know she wouldn't know what a watermelon was already.

Weiss

"It's nice to meet you too Anduin, the....watermelon was very good." The word watermelon came out strangely, as she paused to concentrate on how to pronounce it. "How did you know I wouldn't know what it is?" She watched with curiosity as he pulled something out of his bag. Paper she recognized. While paper was rare in the water, some of it lasted a long time. Long enough for Weiss to find it and study it during her underwater travels....before her mom found out where she had snuck off to again. The scribblings on the page she couldn't make heads or tails of though. Luckily Anduin told her what it said without her asking, so Weiss didn't need to admit to such ignorance. "A ball!" She blurted out excitedly. That would be a great way to kick off her adventure. She cleared her throat, trying to regain a regal composure. "It would be a delight to attended the ball." She said formally. Inside, it was hard not to jump up and down. He can give me human legs?! I can walk and dance!? "It is very nice. Do you think you could teach me how to use magic Anduin?"

Weiss

"That sounds like an excellent plan." She said formally. What are clothes, she wondered internally. She scrunched up her eyes as Anduin cast the spell as if afraid it would hurt. When she opened them, her tail had been replaced with two legs. Weiss wiggled her toes, her eyes as wide as they could go. Of course, she didn't know they were called 'toes' Her long fins had been replaced by stubby fingers. She moved her legs experimentally. One followed the other, Weiss used to having a tail, and not being able to move the limbs independently. Something lay loosely over the top of them. She pulled at it a bit with her hand. Cloth. The word suddenly bubbled up. Like paper, it wasn't unheard of, but it was rare. "Are these clothes?" She asked. looking up at Anduin with a piece of the green skirt pinched between her fingers. Standing. That was what Anduin was doing right? Looking like a newborn foal, Weiss tried to get her newly formed legs under her but didn't get much higher than a squatting position before falling over in a splash of water.

Weiss

Weiss blushed brightly as Anduin helped her up. How could she make such a fool of herself? Of course, it was her first time standing up, but that was no excuse. Nonetheless, she found herself clinging to Anduin while he lifted her into a standing position. These legs were much more unwieldy than she had expected. "Thank you." She told him meekly. Hopefully, it wouldn't take her too long to get the hang of this standing and walking thing. In fact, she was just starting to get the hang of it, when Anduin said she was beautiful. Weiss stumbled, grabbing onto Anduin tightly to avoid getting a face full of sand. "Y-you think I'm beautiful?" She asked in wonderment, her face going all kinds of shades of red. In the water she was graceful, but so far all Anduin had seen from her was the grace of a manatee on land.

Weiss

Of course? Of course, he found her beautiful? Caught up in the statement, it took Weiss a moment to realize he had asked her a question. "Strange." She admitted. Walking took some concentration, and clinging to Anduin, though things got a bit easier once they reached the beach and the waves were no longer pushing her around. "I would love to learn to dance, thank you." Especially if she was going to attend a ball. It would be mortifying for all those people witnessing her trying to dance for the first time. Weiss took the sail and rope a bit uncertainly but gave a determined nod. She wrapped the sail around herself like a toga and used the rope to secure it in place. "You can turn around." She said, hoping she didn't look silly.

Weiss nodded, blushing a bit at Anduin's compliment. "What is Padarak like?" She asked, wondering what to expect when they arrived. "I have 3 sisters. Ruby, Pyhrra & Marinetta." She explained while walking on unsteady legs. With each step, she was getting more confident with the whole walking thing, though things would become much easier once they left the shifting sands of the beach for more stable footing. "You are a prince?!" She repeated startled and stumbling a little bit. He was a prince, and here she had been making a fool of herself this whole time.

Corvus returned to Leuda Beach the next morning to see the mermaid Alexa after he spoke to her the other day. Then Corvus went into his bag and got out a Striped Apple for her.
Good Morning. I got you something to eat from Castle Tipa. Corvus said this as he gave the Striped Apple to Alexa after extracting the skin, core and seeds with the Aport Null Magic Spell. So, what's your name? Care to tell me about yourself? Corvus asked nicely.
