(( The Village thread is being used, so this is just a temp RP thread for Lauren and Avery to RP in the Entertainment Room! :3 ))
Avery found himself bored yet again and, deciding it was safe to return to the entertainment room by now since his run in with Antony the other day, he made his way there. He walked the distance from his duplex to the entertainment room, only to find it empty. Oh well, he'd just watch something by himself.
He started to browse through the selection of DVDs, when something else caught his attention out of the corner of his eye. Were those... magazines? Those kinds of magazines, out here right in the open? He glanced around as if someone might catch him, and moved over to peer at the magazine collection. He glanced at the door again, then pulled one of the playboys partway off the shelf, just enough so he could see the cover.

Lauren was wandering the island and found the entertainment room. She realised she had never been there before. Walking into the room, she saw a tall long haired boy dressed in pastels. And what was in his hand? Lauren looked over and saw... a PLAYBOY?
She cleared her throat a big grin on her face, "Um... am I interupting anything because.. I can leave?" She smiled in his direction chuckling a bit.

As soon as the other girl cleared her throat, Avery jumped, his whole body jerking in surprise. He quickly shoved the playboy magazine back onto the shelf, and grabbed the closest normal looking magazine he could to try and pretend he hadn't just been checking out an adult magazine (although it was a little too late for that).
He turned around to face the girl, his heart beating hard in his chest. "Jesus, you scared the crap out of me," he breathed, his face red from embarrassment at getting caught. He put his hand over his chest, taking a couple deep breaths to calm down, and then he laughed nervously. "Um... I was just looking at the articles?" Avery grinned at her sheepishly.

Lauren could not hold her laughter in as the boy spazzed out trying to hide the magazine all too late. "Oh... I did? That was kind of aparent." She smiled at him as she pulled the magazine back out flipping through it calmly.
"Articles huh? This one is nice right here." She lifted up a full two page spread of a girl who was totally naked laying on the floor seductively. This was just too fun to not play with. "Or this one..." She lifted up another girl this one had high hills on but that was it.
Lauren was having too much fun messing with the poor boy.

Of course Avery looked at each page the girl held up - how could he not? He was glad the girl wasn't embarrassed about catching him, though. "Aw, come on now, no need to tease me... I'm nineteen and male, I have to look at naked things sometimes. We have monthly quotas, don't you know?" he grinned. "My name is Avery, nice to meet you," he held out his hand. "Although I kind of wish we didn't meet like this exactly," Avery laughed. He took this time to finally really look at her - she appeared to be covered in yellow fur, had horns, and very... strange eyes. They were kind of creepy.

Awww... the torture didn't last long enough for Lauren, she was a little disapointed. She still smiled anyway. "Yeah, I geuss so, only monthly?" She raised an eyebrow, or what was once an eyebrow at Avery.
"Hey Avery, I'm Lauren." She smiled as she shook his hand. "Yeah kind of odd to meet over playboys." She had obviously looked at every page she held up as well. "But hell, you know us girls have to look at naked things sometimes too." She put the magazine down, trying not to be preoccupied with it herself.

"Yep, monthly - it's a really high quota, though," Avery chuckled.
"So -" he hesitated a moment, then asked, "uh, d'you know what you're changing into? If you don't mind me asking, I mean. I seem to be asking a lot of people the same question as soon as I meet them..." Of course, asking the question reminded him that he forgot to ask one of the lab assistants what he was turning into when he called to ask for clothes. Damn.

Yeah, that question did seem to be the basis of meeting anyone on the island. Lauren was alright with answering it though, she was happy with her change at this point in time, "A Yellow mongoose with... Antelope horns added I think.." She laughed, "Freakish isn't it?"
"So what are you turning into?" She asked knowing very well that he may not even know.

"Two different animals? So there can be combinations, huh?" Well, that might be one explanation for Antony's three tails. "It doesn't look that bad, I don't think... the horns are kind of cool." Avery said.
"I have no idea what I'm turning into," he shrugged. "Nothing has happened. I don't know why... my friend already transformed a little, I thought for sure I'd be changing soon after that... I guess they all happen at different times, though. It's kind of making me nervous. I just wanna get it over with," he muttered.

"Well, it's just the horns are antelope... I think" She had never thought as to whether or not it would affect other parts of her like her behavior. Hopefully it wouldn't. "Thanks! I asked for them" She added about the horns. "Hurt like HELL though. You DON'T want anything comming out of your skull... trust me."
"You can always ask." She added about him not knowing what he was going to be. "You're friend just transformed though, did you come at the same time?" That was an odd thing, for friends to come on the island at the same time. Usually they only came one after another. "It took me a long time for my first transformation, I think it depends on the amount of time" She knew Moreau was holding off on hers because he worried about her. That did make a bit of difference on things.
Avery didn't seem too excited about his change, but at least he wasn't freaking out over everything. "It'll be alright." She tried to comfort him a bit about things.

Avery's eyes widened in surprise. "You asked for horns? Why on earth would you do that?" He couldn't understand how anyone would want to grow anything extra.
"D'you think they'd tell me if I asked? I was going to when I asked for new clothes, but it slipped my mind I guess," Avery sighed. "Yeah, Rex and I washed up on the island at the same time. I mean, we didn't know each other before the island... but we're friends now, anyway."
Avery couldn't respond to her when she said it would be alright. He didn't think it'd be alright at all.

Lauren started to get a tad defensive, "Yeah, I ASKED for horns. I thought it would look wicked sweet. Yellow mongoose are a little too cute and cuddly for my taste." She stuck her tongue out at Avery. She wanted to and she did, was that weird? Well maybe but she didn't think so.
"I think they'll tell ya. Just have to ask, just like you did with the clothes." It slipped his mind too. He was a little ditzy now wasn't he? In fact he seemed a very girly too and if Lauren hadn't seen him looking at the playboys she would of pinned him down as gay.
Her ears perked up when she heard the name Red, "You're friends with Rex too. He's awesome. We went swimming together the other day." They washed ashore together huh? That must be what he was talking about, maybe this was the person he was saving. "So you're the one he was saving? Well it's good that your not dead now huh?" Lauren was trying to make a point at this. Sure he was turning into an animal, but that was better than being dead at the bottom of the ocean.

"Okay, okay... sorry, I just... I guess I just don't understand why people would want to grow anything extra," Avery replied quickly. He didn't want to offend anyone else.
"Alright... well, maybe I'll ask when I get back to my duplex then." He felt nervous. He almost didn't want to know... but he guess it didn't matter if he did know or not. He'd still transform sometime.
"Yeah, I'm friends with Rex," Avery smiled, relaxing a little. "He is a cool guy. And, yeah, I... I guess I'm the one he saved. If it weren't for him I'd probably be dead, so it is a good thing... I guess I've got to be thankful for that." But was it better than turning into an animal? Avery couldn't decide.

The mongoose girl shrugged, "Well... it was kind of a whim and he wouldn't get me a car." She smiled nervously.
"Good luck on that." She replied to him, "I hope it's something cool at least. I wouldn't want to see you turned into a... slug or anything." He seemed rather nice, and if he was a friend of Rex's he had to be a decent guy. She didn't really want to see him turned into something that would upset him.
"Yeah you see, there's something. Now it isn't too bad. I mean being dead... you'd be fish food at the bottom of the ocean. That would ******** suck." She gave him a hard pat on the back.
Lauren decided to tell him her own onto the island story. "I was living on the streets when I saw an ad in the paper. It was free room and board and I was sick of living with those sick bastards at the building I squated in." She frowned a bit, "So I called and signed a contract and before I knew it... I was here! It's much better even if I am turning into a mongoose. I mean, it's kind of like x-men you know? We're mutants!" She smiled brightly at this thought. Lauren loved being different and unique and right here she couldn't get even more unique that what she was right now. "I have to go through tons of shampoo to keep this fur looking so good. That's kind of a pain in the a**." She posed a bit, hopeing to lighten up Avery's mood.

"I guess so..." Avery murmured, and he avoided talking about the details of how he got here. He figured she knew enough of the details. "Kind of like Beast. Except not blue," he grinned at her. Yes, it was much easier to joke about it than dwell on the bad thoughts. "I definitely don't want to turn into a slug! Or anything scaly or fishy. It has to be something with fur. I like soft things. Maybe like... a fox! Or, uh... I don't know... something cool and with claws, like a wolf. Or a cat."
Avery reached out to touch her fur, sliding his fingers over her arm. "And it's soft, too! Do you have to use different shampoo? It looks like it would be a pain in the a** to wash all the time... I have a hard enough time washing my hair."
