Autumnriver sighed a he walked along the edge of the clan territory. For weeks he had been searching for Emberglory, his longtime friend that he hoped would be his mate. She disappeared and he feared she had gone to Riverclan like his sister did, but the few encounters he had with the other clan came up with nothing. So, he patrolled every night, looking for his dear friend.
So much so that he hardly ever really ate. He didn’t sleep much either. His whole world came crashing down around him. He came up with a few reasons she would just suddenly disappear like she did. One, she ran away to live in another clan. If this was the case, he hoped she was happy. Two, she got picked up by a twolegs. She would still be alive, but far away from him. He would never see her again. Three, she was killed. He really hoped this wasn’t the reason. He prayed to Starclan that if she were dead that he would at least come across her body. No such luck there.
Autumnriver stopped walking. He stood there, at the border of the territory, the wind blowing all around him. Leafbare was near. He sighed, a huge puff of his breathe escaping into the air, and just fell into the dying grass. All his wanted was him Emberglory, but she was nowhere to be seen.
“Why do I even bother….”
