Today looked bleak with the sky cloudy and gray, she could smell the oncoming rain looming in the distance as she made her way on her daily run. She should be quick for she sought something nearby, goldenseal; an herb that she commonly used for pups that came to her with upset stomachs. She noticed her stash was growing thin the other day when Churning Mist complained feeling discomfort in his stomach. She knew it was best to keep an abundance in case of rare outbreaks. As she headed towards the dense woods of the forest she heard the sound of twigs crackling behind her, causing her to stop and turn to see who was causing the commotion.
She silently cursed wishing she had a crow to help her in situations like these, but alas she was alone on this run and her good eye darted around to scan the open land. She caught in the distance a dark mass bounding towards her with great speed. Her ears perked up and her tail straightened, she bared fangs as the mass grew closer until she was able to pick up that it was a wolf. One she knew, a fellow pack mate who's name she could not think of at the moment. She did not spend much time with others, for she was a loner who mostly worked and on her free time she raised her son.
"What is it?" she asked the other wolf.
The other wolf approached her to initiate a spar, she looked on not amused at the wolf for disturbing her mission in retrieving medicinal herbs. She was not one for games for testing strength but she begrudgingly obliged and followed the other wolf out into the open plains, in the distance she can see a small fawn trailing behind it's mother who wearily looked upon the two wolves as she continued on with caution, but her pack mate just shifted position paying no mind of the doe. The other wolf made the first move, which Dead Eye evaded simply by stepping aside with haste and turning to swipe with her front paw at the wolf. She managed to land a hit and the wolf lost balance but straightened back up giving Dead Eye a light playful smirk. She couldn't help but return the expression before bounding towards the other wolf before they had a chance to make another move on her.
The other wolf had expected her move as if they were able to predict her actions and dodged her, then the wolf pounced at Dead Eye's blind side. She was caught off guard and tumbled over, her eyes narrowing at her weakness. She growled at the wolf and launched, but she missed being not in the right mindset. She lowered her head with disappointment and submitted in defeat, she needed to work more on her self-awareness and be capable of detecting a presence on her blind spot.
She sulked as the rain began to fall. She would have to retrieve goldenseal tomorrow.
