The car door closed without much trouble, and Derrick was not standing outside of it, looking at the monstrosity that was the sporting goods store where they needed to get everything for their beach trip. He really wasn't looking forward to going into it. Crowds just weren't his thing. Still, he and Key were here on an "off" day, which hopefully meant that there wouldn't be as many people around. Hopefully, it would be an okay shopping trip. It was just too bad they hadn't found a way to be able to digitally see, feel, and test out things online, or else he would probably never go to a store for the rest of his life. He waited patiently for Key to get out of the car so that they could go in together, and when she finally closed the door on her side, he grinned at her. "You ready?" He asked, trying to hide his crowd-annoyance behind the grin.

"I'm ready but I should be asking you that question." She did better in crowds than Derrick, something she was well aware of, and as she came to stand at her partners side she reached out to grasp one of his hands.
"Just head right for the camping section and hope no kids are running around. Last time I came here for rock climbing gear the amount of teens and children running around, causing trouble, was hard to believe." Though that had been a Friday and she suspected the kids were bored. But they had given such a hard time to the workers, she had felt bad for them, as teenagers had been playing with a basketball and children, ignored by their parents, had been playing with foam toys. It hadn't surprised her to hear a rack of clothing fall over at the time either.
"I'll stay with you so you don't have to deal with so many people." And he could focus on her.

Derrick pouted at her, but couldn't contradict her. She was 100% correct in her implication, and he just wanted to shop without having something happen. He was just now a crowds person. "Sounds good. Hopefully when we get there it will be quiet." At least compared to the more "sports" oriented sections of the store. Or at least, he hoped that there wouldn't be people or little children being loud in that section. He walked with her into the store, and, taking a quick look around, could tell that it wasn't too crowded, but it would be best if he managed to to bump into or be bumped into at all here. If neither of those things happened, he would call this trip a success just for that. Still, he could only barely see the camping section from where he was standing, and that meant that they had to walk almost through the entire store to get to it. With another sigh, and grabbing one of Key's hands, he said, "I hope this will be easier than I think it's going to be." And he moved a bit forward, only stopping to see if Key was continuing with him. He wouldn't be surprised if she or even if he got distracted by something else. After all, they were both pretty into the thrills and sporty things, so if he did find an entire section dedicated to parkour, he doubted he would be able to ignore it himself.

"I'm hoping most for short lines - in and out." That was one thing she didn't have time for - lines. She'd stay on them, and not walk out of a store, but she did hate them but who didn't? Lines were boring and left you standing and shuffling about and just unable to do anything.
"You know...most people would think you have some sort of phobia or people." She teased Derrick gently as the other took her hand, heading them both into the depths of the store. "Some might even think you're something like a total shut in who just came outside for the first time in years." She figured he wouldn't mind a little light teasing, it might even lighten his mood a bit if he was focused on her.
"We'll be all good though - I know it." As she was already looking around for other people, making sure they could avoid dealing with other people. She'd just have to take over heading them towards the camping section if she spotted anyone too close to them, or headed their way. It wouldn't be too hard though.

"Short lines would be great. Hopefully we get there at a time when they're still relatively empty and not when everyone magically comes to the front at once." Working in retail, this phenomenon happened a few times a day. It was weird. He wasn't sure if it was magic or some other thing, such as the invisible rules that somehow told people to get in line all at once, but he was still slightly surprised when it happened. And even more annoyed when he was a part of that line. He "hmph"ed at her, though he knew she was just teasing. Still, he wasn't much of a talker when it came to strangers. Knights and Senshi he could talk easily with since they were on the same side, or at least he assumed they were, and he needed information. He always wanted to learn more. "Just because I don't like people all that much doesn't mean I can't stand to go out for a bit. I'll just need some time back home to recover." He said, laughing a bit to show that he was joking too. Derrick let her take the lead. She knew how to weave in and out of people better than he ever could. Him? He just ran into them like a bulldozer and left destruction in his wake. He didn't move just because others were in the way, especially if they were on the wrong side of the walkway. "We're getting close to it right?"

"It seems like we might get lucky and have short lines." She was hopeful about that, since she didn't see too many people around. But like Derrick she too knew about how lines just seemed to manifest, out of thin air, with no notice. She hoped that wouldn't happen while they were out, she knew how Derrick disliked lines and people.
"I know, I'll even make something for you to drink and let you cuddle on the couch and watch a movie." She teased right back. "You can recover all you want that way." Giving his hand a squeeze while flashing a bright, teasing, smile.
"We are." Looking over her shoulder as she gave another squeeze. "Just keep a hold of me and I'll get you there safely." More teasing from her. "IO'll be your knight in shining armor." Sort of a tease...and a bit not. She was a squire, so not a knight yet, and some armor...some crystal and cloth. She was his...in that they were dating. She was a Castor knight though.
"Any idea on a movie for when we get home?"

Derrick continued to let Key lead the way to the correct section of the store. Honestly, there were too many others. How hard was it to get soccer knee-pads anyway? Why were there 3 shelves full of them? "Let's hope for that then." He didn't want to get stuck behind some soccer mom arguing over the price of some socks. Because that had happened before, and it took 20 minutes to resolve. He managed not to let himself shiver at the horrible thought. It was something he never wanted to experience again. He couldn't help but blush though as she teased him some more. He felt himself smile, but it did make him wonder if he should be better about going out into crowds. It's just that whenever he did and felt like he was making progress, there was always something that set him back. Like a 20 minute argument over socks. "You'll make a great knight, I know it." He whispered to her. He knew he could have said that she "did" make a great knight, but she wasn't a knight as of yet. He wasn't sure if she would take it as a compliment or an insult, and hurriedly spouted out some more words, "I mean, you're already a knight to me." His blush grew a bit more. Perhaps after this he would go and stay under a rock for a bit since he was embarrassing himself like this. Movie ideas, perfect way to change the subject? He wanted to shrug, but that meant that he would be tugging back on her hand, and instead said, "Depends on what you want to watch. Netflix released a few things, but if you want to watch an older movie we can put one of those in. Or a newer movie, I don't have any in particular."
