some general rules

o1. These pups MUST stay with either The Crows or The Sand Raiders.
Picking one doesn't bar you from seeing the other, though! They're sister packs whose alphas are close, so visitations are common.
o2. Read up on each pack's info before entering.
The Crows and The Sand Raiders, while similar, have different ranks and means of operation.
o3. You may enter for both pups but win only one.
Please put entries in the same post. Note that 1 of them is for pack newbies, however. Edit as much as you like until close.
o4. Please keep to the naming theme.
For this pairing, the themes are water/birds/colors. They might also take inspiration from their aunt, Mudsullied Jackal.
o5. Morally gray personalities are fine. Evil is not.
It's natural to have some skewed perceptions given the two packs involved, but these pups will have a loving upbringing.

meet the family

Mother - Blood Falcon (medigel)

Blood Falcon is an animal biology enthusiast who has charmed the Sand Raider's pit snakes like they're cute noodles instead of venomous punishment for criminals; indeed she has no sense of caution in regards to dangerous creatures or another's sense of personal space. She is a den mother of the Sand Raiders who likes to coddle and love and smother all those she can reach, whether familiar or stranger. Whether the girls stay with her or not, they can expect to see her around long after they've reached adulthood, eager to mother even when not nursing. She'll be pushing for family unity regardless of how the split ends up, even if it means encroaching upon her less than easygoing sister.

Father - Ripples on the Azure Sea (Ghastly)

Azure is an assassin in The Crows. Growing up with nightmares and thoughts of his past has made him distant for a long while. However finding a safe space with his mate has taken this once dark and brooding wolf and turned him in to a very protective father. He wishes not for his pups to never experience the pain he lived with of losing his parents and sister as a young pup.

Maternal Aunt - Mudsullied Jackal (medigel)

Mudsullied Jackal, who prefers to go by Sully, is a healer in The Crows aiming for a head position. She's awkward, socially speaking, and quirky, but not unkind. She's...not really a puppy person, however, and prefers to stick to spending her hours perfecting her poultices and "herbal remedies." A stickler for efficiency, Sully dislikes hard work that isn't in her area of expertise. She and Blood Falcon are daughters of second generation healers themselves, so she chose to follow the family tradition. Classic example of hyper intelligence in a niche area (plants) and cluelessness everywhere else.

Paternal Grandmother (Adopted) - Dances on Waves (Ghastly)

This spiritual wolf grew up near the sea. And as she was searching the beach’s tide pools one day for resources she came across Azure. She took him in and raised him before he went off on his own. She’s very relaxed and motherly you will never see her harm a fly unless she needs to.

1st Born Brother - Song of the Nightingale (Ghastly)

Song of the Nightingale is a hard headed pup. With a curious mind he tends to be aloof and run off on his own occasionally. Often you will find him picking fights with Big Bad for fun or little Red Riding Hood. Though he can be a thorn in your side he loves to hunt bugs for practice as he dreams of being a mighty hunter or scout one day.

3rd Born Brother - Blackwater Raptor (medigel)

Blackwater is an incredibly quiet and patient pup, one who prefers to listen and observe than participate. His health is a little frail right now, which will be worsened by the headaches his seer gene cursed him with; his mother decided The Crows would be best for him as the desert heat might make things worse. Blackwater has vivid dreams/nightmares on top of that, leading to a future insomniac who might very well self-medicate through his aunt. Beneath the layers of anxiety, he is quite intelligent and poetic in speech. He’s afraid of not finding his purpose in the pack and can be easily manipulated by that fear.

5th Born Sister - Whispering Night Sparrow (Poptart)

She's quiet and shy, curious yet cautious.

This girl is for those who don't have a wolf in either/both The Crows or the Sand Raiders. If you have a wolf in one and not the other, she goes to the one you don't have one in yet! She is the 2nd born.

This girl's got a pair of stunning eyes. In the right light, she might even be mistaken for a seer! They say eyes are the windows to the soul, so why don't we take a peep inside? If the pup's inner mind and thoughts were a house, what would the interior look like? An expensive penthouse apartment? A cozy cottage in the woods? What would she keep inside, and who might she invite in? Feel free to use both a description and image links and paint us a picture~

Look Into My Eyes
Name: Mistaken Flight in the Night
Personality: Night was mistaken as possibly being a seer when she was very young. As such, she was raised assuming that she would become something great. It’s unfortunate then that once she was older and her eyes settled on a lighter, less purple color, she was proclaimed as not one. While she was not wanting for a loving family regardless of that, it left her feeling like less than what she was.

Now, Night is someone who tries to be someone she’s not. A great actor, she has perfected the art of pretending to be a good friend who is always interested in the plight of others. The truth, however, is vastly different. She really couldn’t care less... about much of anything. Most of her actions are simply to show others that she’s “good” and can be left to her own devices. That’s fine for her, as she’d much prefer to watch others, perhaps swipe something precious from them just to see their reaction.
Pack & Desired Rank: Sand Raiders; Sidewinder or Scout
House Description: A huge, grandiose mansion on the outside! A massive garden surrounds it with beautiful bright purple flowers as far the as eye can see. A sprawling fountain sits in front of the entryway to the mansion, and huge winged gargoyles stand vigil on either side of the doorway. From the outside, this house makes you feel as if the person living within is remarkable - the most interesting person in the world.

The inside, however, tells a different story. Everything is black and white, no middle grounds to be found, and the interior is bland and lifeless. Silence is the only thing living within. From time to time, she might try to bring something colorful into her home, but it would eventually become as monochrome as the rest of her world.
Anything Else?: Someday, I’d love to plot something where she finds someone who will notice how lifeless she really is and help bring color back into her world! Until then, most of her personality will be an act. I would also love to get her a raccoon friend.... who perhaps turns out to not really have her best interests at heart. Possibly even betray her in the future!

Name: Salt Lark
Personality: What makes for a spoiled child? A selfish one? A manipulator, a coercer, an item-hoarding, love obsessed brat who expects the world and will throw a fit like none other when denied?

Coddling her was a mistake.

Salt Lark is one of the more calculative pups of the group, at least when it comes to working her family in her favor. She's an opportunist who always expects a win, exercising her calm, cool, friendly demeanor until the monster needs unleashing. It makes her a bit of a bully at times. She uses everything to her advantage, especially her eyes... She may even consider using Blackwater in the future, what with that vibrant purple eye causing him to SeE things. Or whatever. She's very Veruca Salt, huehuehue. If you appease her? You're in her good graces. She'll continue to come to you for more, without shame but... at least you don't have to deal with the other side things. The consequences of rejecting her. She will get what she wants. At any cost. And you know that.

House Description: It isn't just a penthouse. It's a penthouse suite. And It doesn't just have a couple of wasted rooms but an excess of space that likely took away from rest of the buildings square footage. People below her are suffering because of it, but it's no hair off this girls back. So long as she is comfortable, she is happy. And that's all that matters.
Her house would be like her mind. She has an eclectic case of OCD, where there are so many objects and items and people and places covering the walls and floors of her home, but there is an order to it all. A rhythm. To the point that what would be a hoarders paradise is more like a museum exhibit.

A museum of all the things she's ever wanted, and will ever want.

Name: Wings of Silver
Personality: A bit of a firecracker that loves to examine and learn what she can about the animals that live in her environment. While she's not quite at her mother's level of devotion, she's taken a great liking to the birds that are used for communications. She tends to enjoy spending more time with them then her own siblings. This is due to her secret belief that she must have been switched at birth. Why else would she have a silver coat when her siblings did not? At least with the birds, she doesn't feel like such an oddball. They seem to understand her. She'll most likely form a closer bond with her brother, Blackwater Raptor, seeing him as a fellow oddball due to his headaches. With him, she might confide her feelings and theories on where she really came from.

Plot Ideas:
- She's gonna believe she was switched at birth and try to find out answers as to where she really came from x3
- Wants to understand the birds of the pack and will devote herself to their care (if possible) as well as learning about each and every one.
- Eventually will confront her parents about her belief that she was switched with another pup.
- Could, potentially, wind up falling in love with a bird~

Name: Sacred Swan Song
Personality: Curious about new things - she loves a good mystery or story, and likes learning useful skills. Charming and charismatic, very much knows how to wear a smile and make those around her feel at ease. A good listener. She rarely forgets a face, and has an eye for detail. Very analytical thinker - always thinking of the things she needs to do to accomplish a goal. Ambitious, but a little lazy. She prefers to find the most effective route to getting what she wants (i.e work smarter not harder). She has little interest in working to fulfill goals or pursuits that don't directly align with her own interests/goals, but usually can be persuaded by the promise of an owed favor (she loves when wolves owe her things). Can definitely hold a grudge, though is good at masking her intentions until timing is right. On the other hand, very sweet toward those she's on good terms with - and her family. Would do just about anything for her family when push comes to shove.
Pack & Desired Rank: Crow: Assassin or Gossip/Mimic
Plot Ideas:
- Learning to use her intelligence to her advantage (i.e she may not be the most physically powerful, but if she learns how to make poison (Assassin), she can be useful, or learns how to gather useful information to help the pack (Gossip or Mimic)).
- Her curiosity getting her into some trouble and someone (maybe one of her brothers?) coming to her aid [i.e cute fluff and bonding moments].
- Learning a dangerous secret - and then having to make the decision about what to do with it.

Name: River Hawk
Personality: Most would describe her as cold and distant, which may be true to a degree. She sees more than she tells and hears more than most care to. It is her gift, one she learned how to utilize at a very young age.

From the moment she opened her eyes, it had been very clear this pup was special in her own right. She played rough and accepted no surrender. Took to hunting like a fish to water.

A vicious opponent even in play fights, she shows no remorse for the loser and will not hesitate to inform them of their inferiority. She considers it constructive criticism; others may take her bluntly worded, harsh tones quite differently.

While she adores her family in her own way, she is not one for affection. Fiercely loyal and perhaps overly aggressive with strangers and outsiders. She values efficiency and productivity over all else.
Pack & Desired Rank: Sand Raiders || Sidewinder (Raider) -> Whisper
House Description: Sleek and modern, everything has it's place and a purpose. Nothing is out of place and it's all tidy. The outside is a soft beige that blends with the trees and horizon, trimmed in pristine white. Made of sturdy material, the outside is nothing really amazing.

The inside is just as streamlined and pristine as the outside. Every piece of furniture is elegant and intricately carved, surely one of a kind pieces. There is a plethora of colour, all seamlessly blending into one another to create a mosiac of beautiful chaos. Still everything has it's place and a purpose.
Anything Else?: When it comes time, she will chose to be a Raider but I'm hoping to have her picked personally by the Alpha to be a Whisper. It'll be one major plot point of her life, whether she's picked or not.

Look Into My Eyes
Name: Whip-Poor-Will
Personality: Will is used to disappointment. She had thought she was destined for grand, almost mystical power, but aging up with not a single vision and the ever paling of her eyes, that hope she had in herself, and the hope others had for her, withered. Still, coming from a supportive family, in particular a doting mother, gave her the strength and skill to see through that disappointment and instead use it as a strength, like a broken bone that heals harder than it was before. Will meets hardship head on. She's not afraid of tackling difficult tasks, in fact, she's quite enthusiastic and revels in the challenge. Extroverted and eager to please her family and pack, she takes her work seriously, she'll consider herself a professional after all, and professionals get things done. She's not above using her eyes to fool others into getting what she wants, but isn't stupid about how far she'll push the bluff.

Unlike her mother's obsession with extant species, Will's enthusiasm draws to more extinct specimens. Will has a solid collection of fossils she's collected since early puphood, ever since she was allowed to wander waterways where she found her first ammonite fossil she carried around in her mouth for days. The den quickly became crowded with the tiny fossils she's collected so she begun making pathways with the stones, markers to remember the right way home. Into adulthood this behavior will very much remain the same. She prides herself in her collection, naming what she finds and guessing how these creatures functioned in life.
Pack & Desired Rank: The Crows : Mimic (would be potentially a good fit for a station in the Fire Bringer pack -once it's official- given it's proximity and current vulnerability)
House Description: Imagine if you will a 19th century English curator of oddities and fossils but with the shell of the house a sleek, modern, Scandinavian style. Modest, clean, but for the glass cases filled with fossils, some of which haven't yet found a home in a display case but are instead in every nook and cranny, some stacked, some strewn about. Skeletons, some articulated, some not, are also on haphazard display as if the house had a plan but that plan was abandoned with the shear amount of stuff crammed in. Anthropology and paleontology books are outside their bookcases, but clean with not a touch of dust, thankfully being put to use.

Name: Silver Currents
Personality: Rambunctious and lacking volume control, Silver is just as happy go lucky as one would expect a pup to be. She loves to play and has no qualms initiating games with either her siblings, other pups or her parents.

When someone is hurt or sick, Silver seems to turn into a whole new pup. She becomes quite and gentle, motherly and caring. She just wants everyone to be safe and happy, really.
Pack & Desired Rank: The Crows || Caretaker
Plot Ideas:

• Injuries are bound to happen, if not to Silver, then to those around her. It's just a fact of life. I want her to take these opportunities to try her paw at careraking and helping healers at a young age.
  
  
• Silver will likely travel back and forth between The Crows's and Sand Raiders's territories, when allowed by Big Bad, as often as possible. Her love of her family will drive her, but I'd like to throw a wrench in her perfect little world and have her fall for a rogue wolf. The relationship will end badly, hardening her too soft heart just a bit. May result in puppies, which she will take back to The Crows.
  
  
• After her heart break, Silver will stay close to her pack. It won't be worth it for her to leave their territories anymore because she'll think there's nothing else out there. Why leave home when it's safe and she wouldn't be hurt? She'll find another to hold her heart and all will be well. That is until she begins to swell with pups. This time isn't so smooth going. Silver will fall ill; the thought of losing her pups, her family will push her to recovery but she'll be told of how dangerous it will be for her to birth more pups, leaving her with the knowledge that after this litter, there will be no more. Her heart will break all over again, whether the father of these new pups stays with her or not, because she will love being a mother and see her pups as her only reason for living. It will take a while for her to be herself again, but I definitely don't plan on this being the end to her story. Just the end to her heartbreak.
