Fishing Landry's keys from his pocket, he adjusted the bleeding man he carried in his arms and opened the apartment. Moving in, he nudged the door shut behind him and headed over to the couch where he laid Landry down. "********. I'm going to get some water and a towel and stuff. Just stay conscious. " He told him as he headed down the hallway.

While he had also been cut up and torn, he had at least been Wolframite, powered up and able to take the blows. Landry had been powered down and he winced at the idea of how many of those cuts would scar him. How badly they would affect his modeling career.

Rifling around, he gathered up materials and then dumped them on the coffee table and then into the kitchen grabbed a bowl of warm water. Once he had everything, he came back to sit down and started to work Landry's shirt off. "I'm pretty good at stitches and first aid. It will be fine." He said, tired and exhausted from the fight.

Tonight was supposed to go so differently... The intention was to simply go out, perhaps grab a few things to cook or or bake or something, and then go straight home.

No danger, no fighting, no powering up, just simply a quick outing and then back before his guest had arrived.

Nothing ever seemed to go right when he made plans these days.

Before he even realized it, he was on the ground, battered by vines, shredded by thorns, and the memory of someone he loved and missed dearly dragged across his vision as if such things were meant to be toyed with.

Landry had no clue when it all ended. Somehow Winter managed to drag him home and get him inside without alerting the lobby attendant. And now he was on the couch, head throbbing as the pollen was finally wearing off completely, and every inch of his skin felt as if it were on fire. There was something he was forgetting, an important detail that he just couldn't recall but he knew was time sensitive, but for the life of him he just couldn't bring it up.

It wasn't until Winter came back to his side and began to unbutton his shirt that any semblance of coherency returned to his mind, luckily not enough that embarrassment was felt.

"It's alright, Winter... It hurts, but I don't think I'm going to die from this.."

Winter could get by most people and had given Landry his jacket to hide most of the blood though he himself wasn't doing so hot either. Luckily for him, being powered up didn't make him as much of a mess as Landry was right now. Nothing a few days rest and licking his wounds wouldn't fix.

"You better not or else I'll kill you." He grumbled as he wetted and wrung out a wash cloth and started to wipe off the dried blood caused from the plants.

"Really hope this isn't the start of more aliens. I really don't want to deal with that right now." He set the shirt down on the floor. Landry could easily replace it. "Sorry I wasn't more on it. The plant should have never got that far and - I lost myself to it." He hated to think that he was still so strongly attached to Bismuthite's image despite trying to move past it.

"You're going to have to make up a good lie for all of this. I'm sorry to say this Landry, but these are going to leave marks."

The first time he'd met Landry, the blond boy had ordered something from some sandwich shop Gryphon had never heard of. So he reasoned that despite liking to bake, that didn't mean Lan couldn't also be too lazy to cook. Which suited Gryphon just fine, as he was no Master Chef, himself. He liked sweets, he liked sandwiches, he wasn't opposed to brightly-colored drinks, if the orange float from the festival was anything to go by.

When His Majesty had so graciously invited him over, Gryphon figured that meant he ought to bring something to eat, if they were just going to relax and watch Netflix and chill in Landry's apartment...

In Landry's apartment. Here he'd assumed Lan wasn't likely to ever actually invite him to do anything. Obviously he was pleased.

He'd picked up Taco Bell because tacos were basically Mexican sandwiches (and it was on the way) and drove to Landry's condo. There wasn't anything of any special degree of interest along the way, and if he'd even bothered to have the thought, Gryphon would've said that everything seemed normal right up to the point where he was knocking on Landry's door.

"Ey, Lan," He called as he knocked. "I'm gonna drink all this... blue mountain drink if you don't..." During the process of fumbling around sacks of food and cups of soda as he tried to free up his hands some, his gaze had fallen low, first to the aforementioned sacks of food he was juggling, and then by simple happenstance, the doorknob. Against the brass of the handle there was a smudge of red. His gaze flicked up. Another against the doorframe, and immediately he could conjure at least a hundred ways why that could be bad. "Landry," Gryphon demanded more sharply, pounding the door with a bit more force than initially.

It could be fine. ...But it might not be. He reached for the handle (unlocked, and another cause for alarm) and pushed open the door.

"Ugh.... You do remember me saying that only you or Nubi were allowed to kill me right? Unless you plan on nicking an artery, I'll be fine. You best know this isn't your fault. I was foolish to think of not powering up at all. But there were too many people around, not much to do about that..."" Despite the pain, and the sharp breath taken in as Winter cleaned up his body, Landry smiled. Knowing it wasn't the time to make jokes but doing so all the same.

"A mark? Mm... Nonsense. Rich people don't get marks. I'm sure I know a surgeon or two who could fix this if it's that bad... But I'm sure it's something a few crushed pearls in a fancy, ridiculously expensive cream can fix... Or hell, could just call the piercing spots freckles... Though, the next time this happens, I'll be sure to bribe a doctor or two to help.... You shouldn't have to waste time in a glamour." He never had the chance to ask how comfortable it was to have a skin on that wasn't exactly yours, but the thought never seemed to come up in pleasant conversation. It seemed enough to make horrible jokes through the pain and aches to help elevate his worries just a bit. Winter and his worrying helped too, given the closeness the two held with one another.

His eyebrows did raise at the question of 'aliens', since he was an alien himself, in some convoluted way. ... Landry was too tired for that sort of conversation. The only thing he could focus on was the growling of his stomach and the sweet, sweet call of sleep.

First the call of his name startled him awake, then the banging and the demands forced him to bolt right up, ignoring the pain he was in or the blood that still seemed to ooze from some of the cuts.

"G-gryphon wait! Don't---" It was too late, the door was open, and Gryphon was standing there, bags in arm and likely standing in a few drips of blood that may have spilled before they made it to the couch. "... Just... ********, just stay quiet, okay? Panic, fine, but for the love of God, keep it quiet!"

"Well it wasn't like I had plans tonight to use the glamour anyways. Though I don't think it would even last this long after a fight. It's exhausting." He admitted as he assessed a few marks to pick out which ones needed a few stitches and which ones just needed a bandage.

"And I'm sure there must be some miracle cream made if unicorn horns somewhere for you to use - it's just I wish you didn't get all scarred up in the first place. Kinda unavoidable with us being us but still. It hurts your modeling chances." He said with a hug as he started to make a surgeons lol in some medical thread and leaned in to work, putting some iodine at a few spots before disinfecting the needle and starting to work on a few spots. Landry was still for the most parts aside from a few quick breathed whenever he pierced skin or touched a spot too roughly.

Bit then he jolted when he heard a knock like it was the damn police and looked at Landry with surprised confusion. "Who the hell is that?" He hissed.

The person grew louder and make even more of a commotion. He needed to go away but then the door knob turned and Winter realized he never locked the door behind him. ********!

Before he could even think of flying across the room to lock the door, the stranger was inside and staring at them.

Landry started, knowing them, bit Winter was still panicking and confused. "Who the ******** is that?" He hissed at Landry again. As far as he knew, the other man kept no friends around and no one had ever visited in the few times Winter was over.

This was bad! How the hell did they excuse this. They were both cut up and bloody, Landry worse then him, and doing medical attention on his couch. That looked shady as hell. Most people went to the hospital.

Nervous, he couldn't help the soft, low growl in the back of his throat as he looked at the stranger and then Landry, as if waiting for a command.

He... wasn't even sure what exactly he'd walked into. Landry and some other boy he'd never seen sitting on the couch, both alert and staring at him, bloodied with slashes and pinpricks, and to be perfectly honest, it didn't really look or sound like either of them wanted him there. Admittedly, Gryphon could sympathize. This wasn't exactly what he wanted to find in any regard, either. He hadn't expected anything out of the ordinary at all, since he didn't think Landry would be up to anything too weird after inviting him over.

But that didn't seem to be the case. More than the panic Landry expected of him, Gryphon was simply confused. ...He'd initially had the fear that someone had broken into Landry's house, but that wouldn't exactly explain any blood outside his door.

...His still intact door. Not likely broken into. Oh. He should close that, if they were really so concerned about people coming in.

Gryphon knocked the door closed with his foot and turned to lock it with his free hand. But why were they so worried? If they were hurt, as they appeared to be, neither should be in here to begin with. They should be at the hospital, being tended to. Unless it was like a... a sex thing, or something, then maybe some secrecy would be called for. He moved to set the take-out bags on the counter, then turned to lean against it, staring quizzically at the pair before him as he folded his arms.

"Rough day?" He asked, sunny irises roaming over the cuts along his shirtless friend's torso before flicking to the other boy. "You can quit your ********' snarlin', ya bloody dingo, I'm not gonna do nothin' to ya."

Out of the possible reactions the men could have shared, Landry some how did not expect it to be Winter who panicked first.

"The whole thing about 'not panicking' applies to you too, Winter, so calm down. I'm not upset or scared, am I? It's fine, he's fine, there's no need to freak out. He's a friend, a good friend." Only there was totally reason to freak out. The halfling had already said he wasn't sure if his glamour could hold up... And there wasn't exactly any time to have called up a general since they got back.

Exhaustion was hitting again fast and having stood up so quickly didn't help. Landry stumbled a little, then flopped down ungracefully back onto the couch.

Had the room always been spinning like this? Yes, probably.

"Yes, Gryph, a rough day... Winter, can you maybe... Go into my bedroom and pick out a clean shirt, or the robe off the back of the door? I'd rather not sit around topless in present company... Introductions and that all later, just.. Please, no one attack the other person, there's enough blood on the floor." He raised a hand and pressed it to his temple, eyes squeezing shut.

".. So rough, I forgot you were coming over... I'm sorry.."

Dingo?

The growl stopped abruptly out of surprise at what he was called and also how at ease the other guy was. He was still a damn stranger to him, but Landry knew him and was calling him to step down. Reluctantly he did so, but now he was just left unsure and a bit upset that this guy was coming over with what looked like an entire meal. Plans to come over and Landry knew his name.

A good friend huh? Then why hadn't he heard about him? Did Landry have a lot of friends he didn't know about? Guess there was no point talking about them to him but it still stung. He thought Landry was lonely but this guy came over with food very casually. Like he must have done it all the time. Maybe Landry always had company when Winter wasn't visiting.

"I'm not a damn dingo." He grumbled and then frowned as Landry fell back into the couch. As much as he wanted to be upset, he was still worried.

"Fine." He huffed and turned about, heading into Landry's room to find a robe. Something soft would probably be better than a tight shirt and easier to take off later to check the bandages.

Grumbling to himself, he didn't even notice his eyes fading out in color or the hue of purple returning to his fingertips and hair, which was starting to raise stop his head.

He gave Landry a moment or two before heading back out to them. "Here."

"Growl like one," Gryphon retorted as the boy Landry had referred to as Winter stepped by him to head toward the bedrooms. Gryph eyed him as Winter moved away, and he had to wonder if Landry wasn't as lonely and secluded as he'd always made it seem? Gryphon had thrown a fit making sure Lan got out into the world and sunshine and among people, and here was this boy that Gryphon had never seen, in Landry's house and hovering over his bleeding body...

And if it had been Gryphon doing the hovering, he could only imagine Princess Lan would've pitched a whole-arsed commotion about him being too close or doing too much looking.

That didn't stop him from stepping toward the back of the couch and leaning over it to peer down at the blond boy. For someone who complained about their poor, bruised ankle when Gryphon touched it too hard, he could scarcely imagine what may have happened her. He reached to brush his thumb over Landry's cheek, gently smoothing a wavy blond lock behind his ear. "You don't gotta be sorry." Maybe. Gryphon wasn't sure yet. "But you gonna tell me what's going on, Princess?" He asked on a quiet murmur.

A few moments of silence were allowed as Landry listened to the outside of his apartment from where he sat. Nothing seemed off, no sirens, no alarms going off... The walls were pretty thick here, and as with most of the rich, they kept their noses out of eachother's business. Plus he was a little more than certain his neighbors had gotten used to Gryphon being all loud and obnoxious and figured since no cops had come yet, he was harmless.

Feeling a little more assured, Landry let out the breath he was holding and opened his eyes again, only to find Gryphon leaning over him now. It seemed only natural to lean against that faint touch for a brief moment, before he found the strength to stand again and step away.

"It's simple. I went out to get groceries to bake something, got distracted by some otherwordly nonsense, got attacked by a plant, hence the shredded shirt and bloody pricks. Winter happened to be there too, got a little better off than I did, and panicked, bringing me here instead of to the hospital. Simple as that. He does have some background in field medicine so that helps." Despite the affection between them, Landry found himself wanting to hide it, given just who was in the house with him. If it weren't already awkward enough...

Gods he was tired...

Thankfully Winter returned to the room and he took the offered robe, feeling that cover over his bruised and battered skin bringing back his senses a little more.

"Thank you. Now that I'm not half naked... Gryphon, this is Winter, an oldish friend. Winter, this is Gryphon, a new friend... We met when you and I weren't talking so much and he's... kinda just... Well, I don't know how to explain it except for mother-henning it and insisting I go out more." His eyes gazed over to Winter's fingertips. "But... Perhaps you should go now. Both of you. I'm not dead, I'm not going to die, but... It may be for the best to just be alone for a while."

He stood there, watching as Landry got up to dress. He knew it was because of this Gryph guy because Winter had already seen Landry naked before.

This guy should go. We have more important things to do. He can just come back whenever [)I] He thought to himself.

The explaination was simple and their introduction just as straightforward. However, Winter couldn't help but be miffed that Landry found a new friend when they weren't talking and wondered if that contributed in them taking so long to talk again.

He is a human. He should have more friends. You're not like them. He would be happier with normal people. Of course he would be. You just make him feel like s**t all the time.

"Wait what? I still haven't finished with you. I need to stay here until you are bandaged. This guy should leave." He said as he pointed at the other man before he suddenly noticed his purple, more clawlike fingers. Hiis hand jerked back in an instant and went behind him.

Oh ********. Ohhhhhhahitshitshitshit.

He could feel the tingling in his body as his body worked to try and settle back to its normal form. He thought he had more time but fighting the plant and carrying Landry here had made him more strained then he first thought. And now this guy only knocked his control over the edge.

"I - I think he should go." He managed. "I can't leave yet. I'm still bloody. The guard is going to stop me." He said as a easy excuse as he tried to buy some time. If Gryph left, then it wouldn't matter if his glamour was used up. But if he stayed, he'd need to use some kinda window to get out of here. There was no way he could go down all the flights while looking like he naturally did. He'd be caught on camera too.

"He should go right now." He stressed, a bit more urgently then he intended.

"Attacked by a plant..." Like he'd... fallen into a rose bush, or something? Gryphon eyed the cuts along Landry's body for the few seconds before he was covered up by the robe. He guessed that was possible? Roses were thorny, and a bush could deliver a lot of pricks pretty fast. But some of Landry's cuts looked deeper than Gryph could imagine an accidental trip into a bush delivering. Some a bit wider than a simple thorn could manage... And there were bruises... Bushes didn't leave bruises.

And Winter had fallen into the same bush somehow? Was that a thing that was possible? Gryphon straightened as Landry stood, and his focus instead went to the other boy. Shorter than Lan was and just as pale. ...Even if he hadn't given too much consideration to what Landry's type was, he somehow wouldn't expect it was someone shorter than Lan was himself?

Was he stupid? Was he being paranoid? It was a ridiculous story, right? If 'when we weren't talking' was anything to go by, they must've gotten into a fight, but what of before that?

"A'right, you gotta give it to me straight," Gryphon decided, flicking his fingers dismissively through the air over all the talk of everyone leaving. It wasn't even worth mentioning that he wasn't going anywhere when it still seemed like there was a chance someone would need to go to the hospital. Even someone as dumb as Gryphon knew better than to 'leave him alone for a while.' "Are ya'll BDSMing? Lan, you gotta tell me if yer BDSMing."

He scrunched his nose up at the weirdly frantic tone Winter's voice had taken. "Oi, you gotta calm down, mate. Said I wasn't gonna do nothin' to ya, don't matter what all yer, uh- Up to... in here."

The stress was doing something to Winter, it was plain as day. And he was right, he couldn't just kick him out like that... They needed to clean up, he needed to stop bleeding all over the damned place, and Gryph just...

No.

"Pull yourself together, Winter." That's just what he needed, having a signature of a youma blasting all over the place. "If you need to clean up yourself, go to Lori's bathroom. You know where it is. Her towels are darker, less likely to stain, so just go!"

Landry winced himself at the harshness of his tone, but it was for the best, right? He couldn't just transform in front of Gryph like that! Sure, the man was more than a little understanding of things but ---

BDSMing.

"W-what?! N-no! Gryphon, this is serious! I nearly died out there!" Blood was very clearly rushing up to his face, the paleness stained bright by his flush. "I said it was a plant! A magical, bullshit monstrous plant! Surely your head isn't so deep in the ground to have never heard of such a thing happening before! I doubt you're so daft to--" The room began to get more and more shaky, and a hand slapped over Landry's mouth as he forced himself to swallow back anything that threatened to come up.

"Ugh... Just.. Please, can't you just go...?"

Winter was also just as shocked. "That's not how BDSM works you -"

And then Landry turned on him. The tone made him visibly flinch, and he seemed to shrink as he was told to go. It sting. Sting more than he was prepared for as he thought he'd be more inclined to try and get this guy away then him.

You are making things worse. Look at you. You're going to be a youma in his place when he had this guy over. Of course it's easier to have a human taking care of him then you.

He was quiet as he watched him, trying to read Landry's expression but not finding what he hoped for.

"Ok." He managed, and turned, leaving Landry and Gryph alone.

Going to Lori's room, he picked out some clothes that might fit and locked himself in the bathroom.

And then his glamour broke.
