It was that time again, to challenge Wildstripe to a practice battle. The tom has shown improvement, an courage, the battles are the best option she had to help him continue.
Shifting on her paws, the shecat launched the first attack.

Here we go again, he thought to himself. Ah well, no way to get stronger unless he kept at it and kept battling strong opponents, right?
He eyed the to-be-clan-leader and hesitated; wasn't this a bit much though?
That hesitation cost him. He really should have learned by now. He turned his sprawling from the strong blow into a roll and rebounded, pushing off with his hind legs to launch himself back at the she cat.

Wildstripe's recovery was a sight to behold, she had stayed her paw a moment just to watch the other cat's move. That one she would have to learn from, after she recovered from his solid return hit.
Oh she felt that one, pride and discomfort in one. Removing her claws from the dirt used to stabilize herself, she shook her pelt and launched at the tom again

Good grief, Shadowsong hit hard!
Though, to be fair, neither of them had seemed willing to give an inch during combat...Wildstripe just needed more practice before he would be able to last as long as the battle-strong she-cat.
The tom picked himself up from the dirt, holding a paw aloft to signal a pause. He bowed his head to concede Shadowsong/star's victory and added, "I've still got a long way to go. Thank you for the practice."
(Wildstripe at 1 HP has conceded the battle to Shadowsong/star!)
