Naming Rules (All Breeds)
    • Names cannot be shared by any breed/familiar — no duplicates within all of the characters in Kells. We do not want a bunch of copy-cat names.
    • Common/popular names can not be avoided, like “Raven” and “Moon”, can be played off of or added on to depending on the breeds naming guidelines. Final word will always be left to staff.
    • Names are first come, first serve. You can not claim a name or hold one for a future pet.
    • If you obtain a puppy that isn’t naturally born to pre-existing parents, your puppy must follow the naming theme of it’s breed.
    • If you have a puppy that is adopted by another breed, that puppy will follow the naming theme for it’s new parents breed(s).
    • When you request a cert you must confirm the parent(s) breed if your pet is adopted.
    • Puppies of mix bred families get a choice of being named after their mother or father’s breed.
    • You must follow your breed’s naming rules when naming your wolf/familiar, except IC in the cases mentioned above.
    • If your pet is a cosplay, you might be able to keep your cosplay name, so long as it fits in the Kells World setting. Staff has the right to request a name change for any cosplay pet(s).
    • When you are coming up with a name, please keep our world environment and time period in mind. It’s a Post-human, medieval fantasy world. You can not name your pet after a Jetpack.
    • Familiars follow the Dire/Berserker naming rules.
    • Please keep the length of your name to five words or less, at 30 characters max. Our certs aren’t made to handle sentence long names.
    • Asian flora and fauna should be avoided when naming your pet, as it won't fit our world setting.
    • Only creatures from the Veil can be named after other creatures from the Veil.
    • Wolves can be named after Relics, however, you need to follow a few simple rules if you are going to. Relics are items from before wolves ruled the land, during the time of man. They are often remnants of what once was, and reflect the time period our world is set in. The most common relics found throughout the lands of Kells are tools and items the average human once used, because this world is set in a post apocalyptic fantasy world you have some wiggle room to be creative. However, the setting is still medieval in terms of mechanical knowledge and design, so please keep this in mind when you are naming your pet. Things such as a King's Crown will not be as easy to find, and you will not be able to use in a name. Think average day-to-day items the normal person would have used in our medieval setting.
    • Once a pet is certed and added to the member list, names may not be changed.

Wolves/Familiars can't be named after...
    • Anything offensive. This can be emotionally, physically, culturally, or otherwise. Names like Gypsy will no longer be permitted. Please inquire with staff if you are unsure of your pick.
