Shadowsong gives Sootpelt a flat look, her ears lowered and her tail twitching. What did Fawnbriar see in this cat? Raising one paw, she didn't so much as hit him in the face as put it to his nose and push him back.

Sootpelt stumbles back a bit, more so over his own feet than anything, thinking a huge blow was coming. What was she doing!? He tries to crosseye look at her paw before batting it away. Was she teasing him!? He knew he was flopping, but didn't think it was THAT bad, was it!?

Hmm, watching this goofball of a hopeless tom stumble over his own paws became more amusing than the battle itself. All at once her ears shot forward then folded back as the idea forms. Waiting just a few seconds to let him sweat it out, she launches again not so much to hit him -- not that she'd mourn a hit -- but to make him stumble again

Soot stared at the female wondering when it was going to happen. When the final blow would come so he could drag himself off and lick his 'wounds'. His pride that is. His mind must have been off somewhere cause he didn't catch the females movement at first. The opposite happened of what she hoped and their faces crashed into each other. He howled in embarrassment scooting backwards and rubbing his nose with the back of his paw.

Playing with him was going to backfire, he was actually trying now. Okay, thats fine, embarrassment could still come with a firm paw. This time she didn't even give a warning, the moment his blow hit she whipped right back on him.

The female was confusing, but perhaps that was her strategy!? Were these real blows now!? Had the play been to throw him off? It had certainly worked... and his nose stung!
