Sachio was reminded of Japan with the Star Festival that Destiny City had decided to throw, and the fact that they had some sort of Wishing Tree to put their wishes on. The only problem he had with it however was the fact that those who wanted their wishes to be private couldn’t put theirs on the tree, which was, ridiculous in his opinion. The private ones could have just been folded or rolled or something to make it so that other people couldn’t easily read what was on there. Another objection that he had to it was the fact that they were practically encouraging littering. Sure, it was “paper” that they were using, which should have been biodegradable, but the thing was, it was only biodegradable if it got wet or was composted correctly or whatever. The wishes that they buried could last for quite a while and wasn’t too good for the environment.
Whatever, he would do it anyway, but he certainly wasn’t going to bury the wish. Nor was he going to hang it on the tree so that some rando could come and find it and try to “fulfill” his wish. He wasn’t sure what the heck those that were in charge of the festival were thinking, but that was just asking for trouble. Did they not realize that people could be robbed or worse because of these “wishes” being public?
He could only assume that they didn’t think this through very well, or they ignored all of the troubles that happened around the city and thought that this was just the best place ever to do such a thing. Either way, Sachio was not going to let his wish get loose. And he only had one wish anyway. He walked up to the table, quickly took a piece that they had lying around, one of the pens that were offered at the table, and quickly jotted down that he wished to be a great surgeon after he had graduated.
He growled at one of the attendants when they asked if he needed any help. He was not in the mood for any small talk. He had come here, thinking that this would be something cute that he could do and hang his wish on the tree. But no. They just had to make it a condition that others could take your wish and try to fulfill it! He could just imagine the creepiness and newborn stalkers that would be coming out of the woodwork because of this.
Which is why he clung to the piece of paper like his life depended on it. He didn’t expect to be targeted, but if it at all became public, that meant that his father could find it and eventually might want to track him down, and there was no way he was going back to that abuse a**hole. He quickly got up and stuff the paper into his shorts as he made his way away from the festival, already a bit annoyed that he couldn’t enjoy it like he thought he could. He would have to do something else then. Maybe the food might be better?
