Running into fights to save other senshi wasn't exactly ideal, but it sure beat finding out a senshi was dead. It was few and far between most needed help with combat, after all, you really tended to key into how to fight barefist rather quick when a youma was after you. But on occasion, things got out of hand, and stepping in was needed.

Just how Castor met Adorea. She wasn't clueless or incompetent, just lacking in training.

Which is what brought him to a remote part of the city- a side park nestled in some suburbs wasn't likely to be patrolled, and, so long as they didn't start yelling, it wasn't likely they'd have cops showing up. He'd called her to arraign the time- now as he waited, it was just a matter of her showing up.

He was being modest of course - the day he'd shown up and conveniently intervened in an encounter that had gone south had been the day she'd simply gotten caught. With scarcely an inkling on how to punch anything properly she'd taken to 'distract and run' as the technique to protect the innocent and on that evening she had bitten off far more than she could chew. It turned out that some Youma could move incredibly fast and she'd learned that the hard way.

As it was, Adorea was alive and well.

Still flustered and otherwise perturbed by her inability to be useful the young woman had been just a little envious of the fact that someone could do something better than her, but then, Castor had been seasoned.

Good fortune favoured her though (or maybe pity?) as the senshi in question had offered her the opportunity to learn a thing or two and given that she was in dire need of some direction she had taken him up on that. With the time set the young woman had made her way to the park, one she'd never been to before, in order to take part in a much needed coaching session.

It wasn't long before she came in to view though she was at the very least displaying a level of caution as she checked the area for threats before committing to moving in a chosen direction!

Leaning while rocking back and forth slightly it was telling how he was impatient, or rather, lacking the energy to remain still. A habit he supposed, when the prospect of some form of combat came his way.

When she arrived, he smiled and waved her over. "Come on, we've already established I don't bite. And I can't exactly train you at a distance can I?" He made a joke of it, pushing off the playset he had chosen to lean against and dusted himself off.
"I'm glad you showed- some might not have. Anyway, let's get right into the thick of it. I'm pretty sure you have no fighting experience- so just start off with what your magic can do and we'll work from there."

She'd the decency not to start in surprise as he spoke up. There was another strike against her, she'd missed the fact he'd been loitering. He hadn't been difficult to see either, at least not now that she'd turned to face him. That caution really wouldn't have paid off in the grand scheme of things, she'd have been jumped by now if he hadn't been a friendly face!

"You might not bite," she pointed out and dusted her hands together as she moved towards him. "But that doesn't mean someone else won't," she pursed her lips. "For all I know you could've been kidnapped and I was about to get ambushed," she pointed out.

...And she'd have been caught.

"Figured that in these circumstances it's a good idea to not be dead weight," she added as he referenced her lack of expertise. However, when he mentioned what magic she might have, she openly winced. If there had evr been a more disappointed senshi it was her. The day she and Arthur had discovered what she could 'do' had been a bit anticlimatic for her. Arthur had been polite about it, but Adorea had been more severe about it in her own head.

"I uh..." she cleared her throat. "I heal things," she confessed. "Temporarily," she added and shook her head. "Apparently I smile and people feel more confident, that kind of thing," she attempted to explain the affects of her magic but it was clear that from a combative standpoint it wasn't going to be harming any chaos born beings anytime soon!

"Well." He put a finger under his chin, as if inspecting her, though his tone was more joking than anything. "I promise I won't bite. Not unless you want me to of course." He winked at her.

"And while I am touched by your concern, we have other matters more pressing. Like getting you comfortable in your own skin," Armes crossed, he actually looked at her this time, more critical, more regaurding her and her posture, her limbs and where she put her weight.
"Try standing more on the balls of your feet in combat, not on the entire foot. Practice by shifting your weight when you stand normally- it can help momentum- but it's also easy to read. Keep that in mind if you plan to ever retreat." Not run or flee, retreat. He would phrase things to better acclimate the actual situation they faced.
"Also- I'm going to assume you don't regularly go to any combat training- if that is not feasible, yoga, stretches- anything to help your mobility will be your best aid." He stood across from her, head tilited as he worked what might be the best route to go about this.

"This is going to be rather simple training, because we don't know your limits- or well, I don't." He motioned to himself.

"So, first things first. Hit me as hard as you can, in the place you think will do the most damage the fastest." His gaze was hard. It was not a request, and he was entirely serious.
"And, trust when I say, I know when someone is pulling their punch."

A momentary blush crossed her cheeks, it was the standard reaction for most who were teased in the manner he'd done so even if it was a fairly 'standard' jest.

Still, she listened to him carefully and stared down at her own feet. Accepting the instructions, she soon found herself balancing poorly, but it was a solid first attempt and at least an indication that she didn't appear to be keen on exercise. Flexibility was most likely going to be a problem in the short term, but what he had mentioned in terms of hobbies; stretches and even yoga, weren't entirely out of the realms of possibility.

...It would be good for her even if she hadn't wanted to get better at this new found profession.

Nevertheless when he mentioned that he wanted her to hit him she returned her gaze to him, features decidedly startled at the prospect of punching anything or anyone.

"We've only just met and you want me to nail you?" she asked in surprise. Granted, she was unlikely to do any massive damage to the senshi, she probably wouldn't even dent him, but the request was still a far flung distance from her comfort zone. What if she did end up doing some serious damage by sheer fluke? Oh god, then she would have to work out how to use her phone properly to find someone to help, a smile wasn't going to cut it.

It was rude for her to make him wait though and instead of further delay she did throw a rather telegraphed punch, one that did land, but would have scarcely damaged anyone except herself. In fact, based on the way she had hit him, she did hear her knuckles crack a touch and quickly withdrew her fist, spreading her fingers out and waving them.

Ow.

Why was she so surprised he thought. This was training after all. Maybe she thought it would just be drills and magic casting? Oh boy, he didn't know what those cats were telling the youths these days, but someone really ought to make a manual for these new senshi.

"Well- yes." Point blank. "If I don't know how well you can throw a punch, I won't know how well you can fight. Generally speaking, in training, we can give maybe 80% of ourselves to the combat. Usually its more 60 to 70. In real battle? You need to be giving 100% or, you will die." He spoke evenly. "I don't patronize or exaggerate- holding back in battle will cost you your life- or worse, the lives that depend on you. Surviving is easy, living with guilt? That's a lot harder." He sucked in a breath.
"I respect my fellow senshi too much to coddle them- and I hope you can understand that. I offer to help train because the best way we can stay alive and keep others alive and safe is knowing our limits, and knowing how best to use our powers. That said- hit me."

He didn't need to wait long, and when her punch landed, he moved with the blow, noting her form and her reaction.

"Good." He smiled, feeling a tiny throb where her hit had landed. "You tried and hit your target. Now-" He didn't bother asking permission, he simply moved, grabbing her hand and after breifly checking her knuckles and rubbing them under his thumb, curled her hand back into a fist, moving the fingers himself.

"Thumb on the outside, tight but not to the point it hurts. You want to be able to open it right after to grab if needed." He ran a finger across the knuckles. "Hit with your knuckles, not the flat bone and aim for the contact to be the center or closer to the pointer. Your pinky is weakest, and can break if used for impact." He let go smiling resuming his previous stance.

"Now, try again, and when you strike, move your body with the blow. This time, I'll remain fixed." He winked. "Just think I'm a trashy ex and not the prince charming I am. Take your time- focus, and then strike."

He didn't ******** about, did he?

Castor was genuine and his words blunt, but each was delivered in a way that was neither offensive or aggressive. What Castor had to say was simply what Adorea needed to hear, what they probably all needed to hear. There were likely to be many charitable and kind individuals in this profession, especially those of a younger disposition. Their morals would get in the way, their naivety and idealism... More importantly, there would be those who would exploit the good will and hesitance of those who sought a more peaceful mediation to do irreparable damage.

In the end even Adorea would have to discover that here were simply some individuals who could not be saved.

She nodded thoughtfully at his words and though she didn't understand the significance of them yet, nor relate entirely to his more pragmatic demeanour, she would in time. With experience she'd weather too and his words would have much more value than they did today.

"Right," she glanced briefly at the way he had positioned her fist and nodded. Certain digits had been subtly moved out of harms way, position altered so that when she did land a significant hit it would shatter anything. The way he had set her hand meant she'd end up bruised but her hand wouldn't be unusable. It seemed simple enough but she'd definitely need to practice getting it positioned properly as well.

"Haven't had any trashy exes," she admitted as she hopped back briefly on the balls of her feet and gave herself a small amount of time to prepare herself. She wasn't agile by any means, but she was certainly starting to get the idea in terms of posture; whether this would carry over into a real world conflict was yet to be proven.

"Pretty sure I can imagine it though," she grinned and bobbing gently on her feet she hopped forward, using the momentum she did have to bring her fist towards him. If he was true to his word then she'd land the hit, if he decided to be a minx about it then it was probably just going to graze, but at least she as kind of doing as instructed!
