Hey You Guys! It's story time!!

Backstory: High in the mountains, a mare lived amid a calm herd. They spent their days digging with their strong claws, finding the right rocks to crack open with their powerful hooves. Hidden inside were sparkling secrets, shining for the world to see... But they never took them down below for others to see. One day, a mare with multiple pairs of wings decided she would be the first, taking a cart full of the gem-filled stones down to the herds and village. When asked what her name was, she only said, "Shimmer!" And, with a smile, she would continue on her way.
Personality: In a word, multifaceted - There are many aspects to Shimmer, some hidden and some easily visible. It all matters on how you look at her! Much like the geodes she trades away, she has on her outside a calm and pleasant, if bland, shell. But when one gets to know her, when she deems somebody worthy of seeng more of her personality, they find she enjoys puns and jokes, both good and bad and even some dark. After all, though beautiful, even gems can have dark depths to them. She has a mild fascination with dead things, wanting to poke at them, and wondering if there's a way to get her beloved crystals to grow on them. A curious matter, indeed... There's yet more hidden, but who will find it all?

Hey You Guys! It's story time!!

Backstory: This individual lives in a cave full of crystals. Many crystals have formed from heat, pressure, and other forces that shape the earth. They tend to the crystals to make sure they are strong and safe. Shards and other broken pieces are moved to new substrate and allowed to grow there. Over time, these pieces will become new crystals. It is a little like tending to a garden, where instead of plants there are the crystals.

There are other guardians that tend to other caves, and there is an elder who travels between the caves to oversee their colony of caves. This elder, or another elder, trains the youthful guardians the ways of the crystal cave, how it was formed, how it can be renewed, and the like.

Personality: No longer a young one, this guardian has lived here for as long as they can remember. A social creature, they like to talk about their day and events that shape their cave. So a visit from an elder is always a cause for celebration and discussion.

When alone, it is very challenging. They want to talk, they want to listen, and they want to know. But there is only the crystal. So they discovered that if they hum or sing the crystals vibrate and resonate with the guardian. If one were to ask, they would say that humming helps the crystals to grow. Whatever the truth may be, the guardian has company in the crystals.

Backstory: One fine day a pair of eagles that made their home at the top peak of the tallest mountain in a secluded range, found a basket the color of the sky they lived to fly in. They wouldn't have payed it any heed, but as they were passing by, returning to their nest, the basket hatched. Her hide the same shimmering shade as the sky with wings like the suns rays through the clouds at sunset, she was a blessing sent to them from the gods.

The filly grew up loved, a blessing to her eagle parents. She never wanted for anything and never wanted more until the day a storm came up, and she was carried away on the winds to lands far distant. All she wants is to find her way home to the life she had known and loved.

Personality:
Completely comfortable in silence and her own company, she does not seek out the presence of others, though she would not turn them away. She lives and breathes the silence and purity of her high mountain home. She is sweet, innocent, and sheltered. Simply trying to make her way home.

Backstory: They called her sage , but it was her age that brought her wisdom. She was a mysterious figure that spent most of her time perched at a cave on the top of one of the highest eastern mountains. So soq say that her lover died in the mountains and thus her presence. She herself is secretive about her past through most of her secrets are because talking about the past is painful for her. She did lose loved ones, and while it was long ago their loss scars her heart. Through legend, she has become the mountain's enigma, the sage that other soq seek out for advice. They often gift her small crystals and shiny rocks which she collects because the items remind her of those she has lost.
Personality:Vanadium is a quiet and reserved soq. She is an old soul and while she's not an elder she gives a mature air that causes most soq to think she is older than her appearance (though she is not a spring chicken). She can be prone to melancholy and prefers the company of familiar animals over the company of other soq. She also takes pride in a small garden she keeps during the warmer months at the lower level of the eastern mountains.

Backstory: There was once a story about a soquili who had a keen knowledge of rocks and minerals. She is know for story’s being born from the sky and earth. Upsily is a mare born from a harpy and angeni union. Her parents were very loving towards her. At an early age she realized how closely her body blended with rocks this prompted her to go and learn about rocks. Her curiousity led her to learning she could teach young ones about rocks through stories. Using this background this was how Upsily took her background of love and tradition to became a teacher and love caring for the young.
Personality: she has a storyteller personality she loves teaching foals and teaching them about geography. She is loving and kind but can be stern if used. Her dream is to help those others learn of rocks and geography and hopefully make a family of her own one day.

Backstory: It was said once every century the spirits would bless a child of a wandering herd with a child said to be connected to the gods. When a filly was born to the herd with multiple wings and aspects of a gird, they knew she was their one, their god. They worshiped her, praised her, expected great things. She was blessed and so they were blessed.

The lingering doubts grew bigger bigger in the young mare's mind. She couldn't do it. She couldn't be what they needed. She wasn't blessed by the gods. No way. So the night she was to ascend to leadership, she disappeared into the night.
Personality: The pressure of being able to match a god has caused this mare to retreat inwards on herself. She's full of self doubt and questions her actions. If the situation becomes too much she flees. In the darkness of night she lefts her stress out, she sings songs of sorrow and cries to herself. Not all hope is lost with her though. If she could find a friend who cares for her for who she is and not what she was destined to be, she may be able to smile her beautiful smile once again.

[Nyx Queen of Darkness]

Hey You Guys! It's story time!!
Username: Nyx Queen of Darkness
Backstory: Energy Vampire. Toxic. Everyone knows one. The world, the very cosmos revolve around them and their life. They suck you dry, leave you feeling like an empty husk. We are advised to cut them off, but after a life-changing incident, the little mare realizes that the toxic one in her life is her.

Altered by her incident, she is attempting to make up for the emotional devastation and chaos she has caused. It isn't that she didn't have emphathy rather that she never looked past herself until now.

On a journey of change, she attempts to see the world as others do and to break her own heart with the compassion of learning to feel and care for others.
Personality:

Once a stuck-up, entitled brat that thought the world basked at her feet, the little mare is trying. It turns out that it hurts to find out the pain you caused others by not realizing you were the problem. Change doesn't come around unless you accept it. So she tries and she tries. Some days she fails. Sometimes she doesn't know if she's backsliding into being egocentric or if it's right to feel how badly she does about how bad of a soquili she was.

All she knows is that her heart is breaking with the pain of the hurt she's caused and she's desperately trying to make amends without excuses. Maybe she'll find the ones she actually hurt and make it better, maybe not. But she is determined to be kinder to everyone she meets from now on.
