Destiny City has installed a Reservoir that is finally ready for the public to use, only five minutes outside of the eastern side of town; it used to be quite a distance to travel to the nearest beach, but during construction Destiny City has modified the lake's shoreline to mimic sandy ocean beach fronts. If you want the summer experience, you can head over there to check it out! Bonfires, picnics, parties, and sand castles seem to be everywhere, but now's the best time to enjoy the water! It's cool and clear and full of fresh water fish! The only thing is...the sand squeaks when you walk on it. Is that normal?

Night had fallen and for now the majority had died down. Save for the activity along the most active piers of the lake, the rest of the sandy shoreline had been left as isolated and barren as one might have expected at this time in the evening. It was a perfect time for her to continue with her new duties and she had even gone so far as to transform in one of the particularly isolated areas to avoid detection.

However, when it came to following Arthur's instructions she had forgotten the fundamental rule whereby she was meant to keep a low profile and stay out of the more populated areas where she might attract attention. In her eyes the beach was quiet enough for her to continue to adjust to her new abilities, and in the dark she looked a bit like a surfer so all things considered, she might be able to get away with it.

...If anyone asked, her visor was a snorkel, she just hadn't put the breathing piece on yet.

She knew better than to throw herself directly into harms way at the moment and instead she had adopted the stance of behaving as a distraction and drawing the danger away from the innocent. For the last few weeks it had been going well, things had chased her and left the innocent behind, but in the grand scheme of things she couldn't guarantee that these creepy beast things hadn't gone back when she wasn't looking.

As with all of her current 'rescue missions', she could only hope that by the time they had returned to prowling, those they could hurt would have been far enough away to avoid them.

She had planned for this evening to be the same; patrol quietly until someone needed her and then make herself a nuisance when they did. There was just one slight issue in terms of this being successful... to be undetected she needed to be quiet and right now the sand beneath her boots appeared to be squeaking.

"Are you for real?" She muttered as she came to a halt and stared down at the inconspicuous sand. How the hell did sand squeak anyway, the only thing she could imagine was a crunch at the very most.

Sapphirine was more cautious about going out than she had been. The idea of running into Haumea now…even if it was unlikely…made her want to just give all of this up as a bad job and forsake…everything about it. She hadn’t even started doing anything as Sapphirine until she had met him…and now…well.

Kekipi wasn’t going to be in Kalina’s life any longer so why…why would Sapphirine want to be in Haumea’s? In fact…why would Sapphirine want to do anything?

But…here she was, on a patrol and not caring too much about it, though she moved towards the aura of someone on the White Moon without much of a thought. Perhaps this would be what she needed. A confrontation. No broken bones. No insubordination. Just…a test of her own. A fight…a person to get all of her insecurities out on.

Yes…she would do what she could and…

And then the corrupt senshi stepped onto the sand and nearly jumped into the air as it squeaked at her.

For a long moment, Sapphirine just stared at it, her dark eyes confused and her brows furrowed in concentration as she made another step, and then just sighed.

This city. Whatever.

She hurried towards the other aura and sneered. “Did you mess up the sand? It sounds like a toddler’s shoes.”

She had company, and this wasn't the good kind.

Adorea turned her gaze towards the source of the voice, only to take note of the strange symbol on Sapphirine's forehead and the more dark adornments she wore. The source of her power was clearly the opposite of Adorea's and yet...similar? She didn't quite know how to describe it but the red head did know that she was standing the face of a corrupted senshi.

Sapphirine was one of those that Arthur had spoken about, the ones found by these Negaverse agents before a Mauvian managed to awaken them.

"I'll level with you," The senshi turned round to face her properly and flung her arms wide to motion towards the sand. Each step was accompanied by the peculiar and somewhat disconcerting shriek. "This isn't really my style," she admitted and brought her hands back to her hips again. "I wouldn't even know what to do with it."

She paused for a moment to regard Sapphirine more closely and pursed her lips. Nice to know she was pleasant eh, a sneer was always a good way to start things off? Adorea had always preferred to be politer company even in the face of hostility!

"Maybe break someone's stealth," she added as an afterthought and raised a brow. "By the sounds of it, it would work out fairly well. Managed to catch you after all, could probably catch a few others."

“Well I certainly didn’t cause it.” Sapphirine’s voice was almost a drawl. She sized up the senshi in front of her and decided that she…looked…dumb. It was a quick and hastily made decision, but now that she had decided…she nodded to herself.

“It’s stupid whatever it is. And if you didn’t cause it, I’m sure that you know what did, and I don’t like it. So…”

This was it. She could do something amazing…or walk away. Regardless…the city had finally gotten a pretty nice beach…and this dumb senshi had gone and…ruined the sand.

The excuses sounded poor to her own mind, but there had to be a reason to fight, didn’t there? Or could she just…

“Fluke Slap!” Raising her hands, Sapphirine didn’t hesitate. She didn’t need a reason to fight. She had aggression to get out…and this squeaky sand senshi was going to be the poor punching bag. Letting her arms fall again, she directed the magic towards the purple clad jumpsuit senshi.

“Oops. Sorry.”

Fluke Slap! (Kind of like this. owo)
Sapphirine raises both of her hands and brings them crashing back down to her sides. When the attack is started, it causes a fluke made of senshi magic energy which comes crashing down on an opponent, who is within ten feet of Sapphirine, stunning them for fifteen seconds. This attack can be used twice per battle. The attack may leave the recipient with a headache, or mild disorientation.

Adorea's eyebrow lifted at the logic that appeared to have been applied by her fellow senshi. She didn't follow it, but at the same time she wasn't entirely sure that she was meant to follow it. Perhaps it was an excuse of some sort but given that Adorea scarcely knew any other senshi it was safe to assume she almost certainly didn't know who had created a beach that...squeaked.

Why would someone even do that anyway?

Whatever the case might have been, whatever logic she might have missed, was all largely irrelevant at this point. No sooner had she lost herself to this thought than something came crashing down on her. She hadn't quite caught what Sapphirine had said, but it had certainly done something and no sooner had it occurred than Adorea was battered by some form of magic... It was enough to make her stumble and cringe, blinking rapidly.

Mildly disorientated she took a step back and raised a hand to place her palm against her forehead as she turned to look at the Senshi again.

"The hell was that for?" she demanded. "Is the fact the sand squeaks really that big a deal to you?" she added and gave her head a rub.

Ow.

She wasn't down yet, but that certainly left a sting.

How was she even meant to respond to this? She couldn't exactly conjure any shockwaves herself.

Did the squeaking sand really mean that much? No. Not at all…but…she was wound up. She was angry and…now that she had started this fight…she wanted to keep it going.

“You’re annoying and I don’t like your outfit.”

Sapphirine thought that this to was a stupid excuse, but it didn’t stop her from lunging at the senshi, her arm pulled back to deliver a punch to the redhead’s gut. “It’s ugly.”

It wasn’t that bad…and it was almost kind of enough like her own strange bodysuit of a fuku that it didn’t really even…

“Look just stop talking and let me kill you, okay? It’ll make me feel loads better.”

But…did she want to kill this girl? No. That wasn’t…really the truth either.
God, the corrupt felt so messed up…but maybe this fight would help to even things out in her head.

Maybe.

She didn't like her outfit?

"Oh so you're one of those types," Adorea murmured, continuing to press her palm to her head. It was continuing to smart, the vague pulse of a headache brought on by disorientation. For want o a better word she was facing off against a bully, one determined to beat her three ways from sunday and if she was to be true to her word... she wanted to kill her.

How extraordinary.

...Was this the negaverse? It seemed almost childish, bizarre and appropriately chaotic. That being said Adorea didn't much want to die this afternoon and while her head was sore it was hardly a fatal strike. A shame her own abilities didn't work on herself or she'd have felt moderately better.

Instead, she took a step back to regard the senshi critically and shook her head.

"How about we don't kill me today over crimes against fashion, eh?" she mused, sand 'squeaking' with each step as she took stock of her own options. If she got fluke slapped again she was going to have a woeful headache for the rest of the evening, however she was going to have to figure out how to avoid it when the range on that thing seemed to mean she'd get hit from a distance.

Mmm, she wasn't above being a cheap shot.

It was with that in mind that she knelt down and gave her head another rub before cupping her hand around the sand. Regardless of how noisy it was, it should still function the same way right? Maybe with the added benefit of being really annoying as it sailed through the air!

Sapphirine rolled her eyes and felt a twinge of satisfaction at the fact that she was at the very least winning this fight. And winning it without her opponent making much progress with anything. She took a few steps closer, a smile beginning to spread across her face, and as she contemplated either attacking again or just letting the senshi go, suddenly there was a handful of sand in her eyes.

“What the hell!”

She closed them and began rubbing at them quickly, trying to dislodge the small particles as quickly as she could without causing any damage.

Her eyes began streaming with tears and she stumbled backwards, each step causing more noise than should have been allowed, and the senshi growled in annoyance. “I swear to god, I’m going to kill you, senshi. What a cheap shot!”
As soon as she got the sand out of her eyes, that was.

"That's great and all but I think on this occasion I'm just gonna peace out!" Adorea stumbled as she spun around her her heels, offering a half wave towards the other senshi. She knew when she was beat, right now she had nothing that could stop that senshi from battering her again if she chose.

She'd pick and choose her battles for now, or she wouldn't have any battles left to fight. She'd choose life for now and revisit this odd senshi later when she had a bit more going for her than some well aimed sand.

That in mind she was soon high tailing it, leaping into the air with the sole intention of not landing in anymore sand. Too much squeaking and she'd give herself away, just enough accurate leaping and she'd get herself out of the way and into the shadows where she could make a quick escape.

It was better this way.

...Maybe the senshi would be in better spirits the next time they met, eh?

Peace out?

Sapphirine shook her head, rubbing her eyes frantically to try to clear them. She was going to win this. She was going to be utterly and completely victorious and…

The senshi was not going to get to just…just run!

Finally she moved her hands cautiously away from her eyes and let out a loud curse, kicking at the sand and sending it flying.

Fine. Well. Fine. There would be another day. And she wouldn’t be so stupid to fall for some sand in her eyes.

Next time…she would win this and there would be no way anyone could contest it. Until then…the corrupt headed sulkily towards home, now even more annoyed with everything.
