Boulder stretched slowly out of the makeshift den they had stolen for the night. The travel had been long and his paws still ached, but Boulder was thirsty. Deathly so. His tongue felt dry as he rolled it around, ears flattening as he carefully padded from the sleeping Invisible Shade. He didn't want to wake his friend just because he was grabbing a drink from the nearby pond.
The walk was, thankfully, a short one. He listened intently to the hoots of nearby owls and the crickets welcoming him. It was peaceful, honestly. He liked the night, but travel was easier done when the sun was up. His tail flicked idly behind him as his paws tiredly carried him to his destination. He found the pond easily enough and lapped at the water gratefully. Cold, delicious, and smelled like the forest itself. Much better than the ponds near his old home.
An ear flicked at that thought -- no, forget it. His old family was no more. He was traveling due to them, after all. He was lucky to have Shade, but he wanted more for the both of them. His best friend deserved a chance to live. Boulder also wouldn't mind a chance to feel safe for once. He wanted to settle down somewhere. Of course, he'd never choose a home without Shade's input (after all, best friends had good opinions on those sort of things!), but eventually their traveling would stop one day, right?
Eventually they'd get a chance to enjoy their time together, hopefully. His cheeks flushed at that thought. Ridiculous. He dunked his head in the water to clear his thoughts. Droplets flew in the air once he jerked his head back and shook it off. He didn't notice the visitor, and if any water got on them he hadn't quite realized yet.

 Visage didn't have to watch his niece today and that was a good thing because she always tired him out. He had no time to even do the things he wanted to do, which wasn't much since he usually just laid about sleeping or collecting berries to eat later. He lead a pretty boring life and Snakeroot was the only good thing that came into it. That was until he realized he wanted to do more for his pack as well as himself. He wanted to make friends or do something more with his life instead of always protecting his brother. That was what he thought about when he stepped out of the pack lands early on in the day and really set out to find something exciting.
The pond seemed like a good place to start so as he made his way over slowly noticing the male enjoying the water and decided he was going to be friendly. He was going to actually step up to him and say hello instead of lingering in the distance until he was the one greeted. As he approached, he opened his mouth to say something and was immediately splashed in the face with what felt like a ton of water. He was soaked and his mouth hung open in disbelief. He tried to do something different and this is what happened. He knew he should have just done his usual routine.
"Hello..." His voice was low and defeated because the last thing he wanted today was to be wet. Nymphiea Also sorry in advance for Visage's posts. They might be shorter since I'm still trying to figure him out compared to my other wolves ;o; He is eluding me~

Boulder honestly hadn't seen the wolf. This was apparent when his head snapped to look at the speaker and horror flashed in his eyes. Oh no. They were drenched! His tail lowered and so did his ears, noting the strangers defeated tone. Nice. Good job Boulder.
"I didn't see you," he gasped, stretching his nails nervously into the dirt. If Shade was here, he would have seen the newcomer. Shade was good at those things. The small wolf settled onto his haunches, tail twitching softly. "I'm sorry, I don't normally greet wolves this way..." Or really any way. It wasn't like he saw many strangers during their travels.
"I'm Boulder. Is this your home?"

Visage had to remember that he had a home now. A home with other wolves that relied on him to bring something back food wise for the entire pack. It was like a family. A family he didn't know how to feel about just yet. He slowly shook his head as he looked at the other male. He didn't seem very threatening and if he was he could easily attack him. "This isn't my home..I'm out looking for something to bring back to my pack..some kind of food anyway." He was being honest because he felt like that would be better then lying to someone like him. Starting off with a lie was not the best way to go at all.
"I hope I didn't bother you though?" He felt a little bit standoffish since the male was a stranger to him and he was not good at making friends at all. "What is your name?" He figured getting to know him was at least a step int he right direction. He didn't want to just leave after stumbling upon him. "My name is Visage." He looked at him carefully before tearing his eyes away to look into the distance. Nymphiea He is harder to Rp then I thought ;o;

Oh, good, they weren't on pack lands. Relief poured into his shoulders as he loosened them considerably. He shook his head at the question, trying to offer a smile. It just came out nervous... which he was.
"Ah no no, I just came out for a drink. If anything, I'm sorry for bothering you... I really didn't mean to splash water around." He flushed at his own stupidity, although he didn't dwell on it long. It seemed this wolf, Visage, wasn't going to harp on it either. His ears perked, head tilting. Hadn't he just said his name? Or had he spoken too quietly? Actually, is was probably that. How many times had Shade asked him to repeat himself due to speaking barely above a whisper?
If he wanted to make friends he really needed to do better!
"I'm Boulder," he answered, noting how the other looked away. Did they feel awkward, too? That made him feel a little better... honestly. He wasn't the only one trying to figure this out. "You have a pack? That sounds really nice. Do you like it there?"

Visage shook himself of the excess water and didn't really know what to think of this male at first because quite honestly, he found him strange. That wasn't really anything new since he found everyone except for his brother weird and that was saying a lot.
"It's okay..it's hot enough out to where getting a nice little cooldown isn't such a bad thing." He said with a nod and continued to examine the other wolf. He never met anyone with such a strange coat. He didn't know if it was how he was born or if he was showing off amazing dye capabilities. A lot of wolves had dyed coats. He had seen it many times within the pack, but he never saw it to this extent if it was indeed dye. "This may sound odd..but is that your coat..or is it dye?" He just wanted to know mainly because it intrigued him. Seeing such a over the top dye job was fascinating to him.
Did he like his pack? Yes he did. He also liked his brother and would leave if his brother wanted to go. He was a bit too attached to him and even though they were half brothers, they took care of each other. "Yes...I like it there. It's my home. I've never had a home before so it's nice to have a group to rely on and having a place to sleep..Not having to worry about being killed or hurt by another predator." He said to Boulder before nodding a little bit.
"I know you don't have to be in a pack..but I did hear it's beneficial..is it something you want to do?" He asked the other curiously.

His ears perked at the question, head tilting as he glanced at himself. Oh, was his fur pattern odd? Now that he thought about it... he hadn't met another like him other than his mother. He smiled, head shaking gently.
"No, not odd! It's my natural coat for the most part. The blue/grey lines and dots are dye, though." He showed off his arm and face dyes by lifting his head and arm briefly. He'd need to ask Shade if he ever thought Boulder's coat was interesting.
As the other continued he found himself gently nodding here and there. It made sense, of course. Maybe he was a bit jealous, even. A pack meant security and a home, something Shade and Boulder were constantly seeking. He blinked at the last question, nodding without even thinking.
"Yes. We're looking for a home, so a pack would be nice." He paused, realizing the 'we' made little sense to the stranger. "Ah, my friend and I are traveling together. He's not here right now, but we came here in hopes there would be a pack nearby. Are you here because your near yours?"

Visage nodded to the male's words and thought that it made a lot of sense. There was no way you could have a intricate coat like that without it being a dye job. "Sorry if I offended you..I didn't mean to. It's a lovely coat..I just..I have a weird way of stating things." It was true. He usually just said things without thinking and then thought about it later. While it wasn't the greatest way to be he was fine with it since it was something he couldn't really change.
He remembered being in the same spot as this male not that long ago. He was looking for a pack with his brother and he was stuck unsure of what to do until Kindle came along. She convinced him to join the Dawnstar and was pretty happy with his decision. "Yes we are close to the pack I'm from, but it's not super close. I'm actually out hunting and trying to find food to bring back to them at the moment." He said with a firm nod. He wasn't the type to really recruit or boast about his own pack. He liked letting the other decide on their own.
"I'm from Dawnstar..it's more of a lax pack..you pretty much pick a role and stick to it. You know...do your daily jobs and don't hurt the pack. Typical things. Nothing too hard." He said with a slight shrug of his shoulders as he looked more at the male. "I know what your going through though..me and my brother went through the same thing not that long ago..until someone helped me find my way." He said with a nod and would never forget Kindle for doing that for him. He liked that she was so helpful and fun to be around even if he didn't show it.Nymphiea Sorry this took so long. ;o; If you moved on with plots for Boulder that is fine. I just want to finish the RP so that we both have something to count towards future breedings <3
