It was called Urbex; something she shouldn't have been doing, but ultimately something that was convenient while on patrol. As an architect in her ordinary clothes, she had a quiet appreciation for some of the delipidated buildings that had long fallen in to disrepair and had been left abandoned. More often than not they had succumbed to age through lack of investment, or simply because those who had attended to them had vanished and there had been no other to bring them back to a liveable state.
Trespassing aside, she'd often found some intriguing things while she had delved into the depths of these buildings. Abandonned rooms left without context, often with items and furniture positioned in unusual ways that belied a story. If walls could talk she'd have heard several tales of tragedy and wonder by now; an epic discovery or two, and maybe several less than pleasant horrors.
This evening though, the senshi had taken to patrolling the old boat houses on the dock. There was nothing particularly exciting of note; she'd yet to detect any of these Youma or the Negaverse causing pain to the innocent, so she'd been left much to her own devices.
This worked out well for her, and while she was keeping half an eye on what lurked around her she had spent much of her time sifting through rubble and rotted wood in this particular boat hourse. She hadn't come up trumps yet, but based on some of the crumbling shelves it was clear that something had been here before, and given the fact that boathouses might very well have contained compasses and sextants, she was hopeful that she might find something to appreciate.
...Otherwise, she was about to be very dusty for little more than a few crumbling oars and an upturned, hole ridden row boat.

Chip had been spreading his wandering out of late, and his current place of exploration was a rather odoriferous place, spots to stick boats. Lots of neat things to poke at and pick apart, although he was on his cat-mandated catnap when something extra interesting turned up. A senshi, and not one of his. He rolled onto his side, and watched her come into the little room, peeking around similarly to what he had done, albeit at a different eye level. He was up on a high shelf, where there used to be some ropes, so he was sure he could just stay still and not be noticed. That was no fun, though...So he said out of the shadows, not bothering to move or show himself just yet, "Hey, find anything cool?" He spoke easily, languidly...but ultimately his voice was that of a child, so there wasn't much sinister about it, unless you'd recently watched one of those horror movies (which Chip had not).

"Not yet, lot of broken things that I can't repair but otherwise..." she shrugged, her back still turned to Chip who had taken that moment to speak to her. "I wasn't expecting much anyway, it would have just been -"
Then it struck her.
"Wait what?" she glanced over her shoulder. The first sign of madness was to speak to yourself and she did have to concede that for a small portion of time she had assumed she was talking to herself. This led to other concerns, for example, why was she even responding to an internal voice that hadn't been her own and if she had been...wouldn't that mean that something as of late hadn't sat well with her and she might be compromised?
Life had weird lately.
Fortunately she had at least twigged to the fact she wasn't alone and had taken the opportunity to glance over her shoulder. It was then that she set eyes on him, the feline that had 'hidden' himself on a shelf. What he had been doing was anyone's guess but he did have the capacity to talk and that meant...
"Are you guys everywhere and I just haven't realised it yet?" she said finally and turned round properly to give the mauvian the respect he was entitled to (even if she didn't know he was foe). "Like, is every cat in this city one of you and you're all just screwing with the normal people?"

Chip nodded at her reply, not that she'd see, and then waited while she visibly worked out what was going on. When she finally did turn around and look at him, his little tail thumped lightly on the shelf he was lounging on, and then he popped upright, his little hat nearly falling off in the process, making him wobble to one side to keep it before righting completely. "Mm, nah, don't think so," he replied, shaking his head, dark forehead star sparkling some from reflected light. "You're just really lucky, I guess! How many others have you met, anyway?" He was genuinely curious. That it was likely also useful intel was entirely beside the point...and, truth be told, he hadn't considered that possibility just yet.

Okay so she was exaggerating...She hadn't met loads of cats yet, but in time she would meet at least another one. Eventually she would probably make it her goal to find others and say hello, Order of Negaverse would likely be irrelevant in that respect.
However as Chip came into the light she did notice that he was different than Arthur, the appearance of the sparkling star was darker and lacked the golden gleam that she had grown used to when she had first met the Mauvian. Did this mean that he was one of the 'bad guys' that she had been warned about, or did they have the ability to look different while serving the same faction?
"I've met like...two," she finally admitted and shook her head. Actually, now that she thought about it, one of those hadn't been the same as Arthur too, he'd been quite blunt (crass if she was entirely honest with herself).
"One pretty white one who was absolutely lovely and then one very crass one who flirted with me." She paused. "Well at least I think he was, I don't really know if that's a thing," she shrugged.
"But I haven't been at this long and you'd think there'd be less of you, least I had thought there were until the last few weeks when I keep bumping in to anomalies," she admitted.
Perhaps too much information, but Adorea had a great deal to learn about tact. She might have to get hurt before she realised that sometimes being more conservative with her answers would prove to be of greater benefit...

Chip didn't quite understand the concept of flirting, all told, so didn't focus too much on that description. He did nod at the list, though. Probably hadn't met those cats. Maybe? But probably not... "I think it's cuz you're, what's the word?" He considered before remembering, "Attuned! Attuned to all the hidden stuff now, so we don't have to hide from you. I dunno about anyone else, but I wouldn't go talking to some random human without any reason." He hopped down off the high shelf onto a box, putting him in fairly easy grab range for the senshi. Dangerous, perhaps, but he didn't appear to have any concern about the possibilities. "Besides, now you're a beacon for... 'anomalies,' ya know!"

He'd not be the first or last Mauvian to advise her not to go spouting off about who and what she was, but that still didn't mean she wished she had someone to talk about when it came to these sorts of things. She wasn't even sure how to use her phone properly at the moment, otherwise she'd have been in pursuit of other friends to at least give her some sort of clarity.
With a lot to learn, she was more naive than anything else and to put it lightly, probably utterly useless in the face of a genuine thread. For example, she really shouldn't have been consorting with a 'bad cat', but she knew no better and to be entirely honest, knowledge was power... Everyone could do with learning more about themselves and whatever they were supposed to be against.
...Not that Chip had made it clear as to who or what he was.
"That's one way of putting it," she said finally and shook her head. "I must look mighty tasty to those weird monsters in the shadows," she wrinkled her nose. "You know I never ever got attacked by those on the way home personally but I'm starting to think I'm just lucky? I keep walking in to people getting assaulted and it's more frequent than I thought it was."
And then there was the time she walked in on the senshi trying to do something to a jogger and that just hadn't ended well at all...
"How come they don't try to eat your kind anyway?"

“They?” Chip echoed, “Oh, the Youma.” He rocked his head in a way that was a bit reminiscent of a shrug. “They do, sometimes, but it’s easy to hide from them if I can’t just tell them off for it.” He nodded. “The ones that can talk are kind of fun, if they’re in a good mood~” he said playfully, and eyed the senshi curiously. “Anyway! What’s your name? I’m Chip!” He declared rather earnestly.

"Tell them off...?" Adorea squinted at the feline; the last youma she had met wasn't really up for any conversation. If anything, it was decidedly against any form of conversation. Add that to the furious plants and the very angry snapping fireflies and she had reason to believe that negotiating would work. Last time she'd checked they weren't like dogs that responded to tone of voice and did as they were told...
"And they talk?" This only let to more questions.
"Oh, I'm Adorea," she added after a moment and waved her hand somewhat dismissively. Truth be told introductions were irrelevant in the face of much more information. It seemed like this Mauvian could do things that Arthur didn't or simply couldn't, so did that mean...
She pursed her lips as she glanced at Chip again, cute as he was, she did have to wonder...
"Are you one of the bad guys?"

“Tell them off from the shoulder of someone much bigger than me,” he elaborated with a little laugh, but left that topic alone otherwise. “Bad guys?” Chip replied, eyes wide, and voice tinged with surprise. “Definitely not!” He protested, sincerely, it would seem. “We keep the world safe from invaders! Though, I guess some of our people can be scary sometimes...” He nodded at that. The kitten was so very small, it was easy to imagine him afraid of many things....even if the way he presented himself made it seem like he was quite fearless.

Adorea raised a brow at that one.
Kept the world safe from invaders, but otherwise consumed the life of innocent joggers. She wasn't seeing how this was a good thing to do and how said joggers might be invading anywhere. Trespassing certainly, but that was a bit of an extreme reaction to what could be an innocent mistake!
"I guess I'll have to try that sometime," she mused after a moment of consideration, choosing not to question his motives further for now while her brain tried to work out how this moral conundrum was supposed to go.
"I just need to find someone to sit on," she added and glanced at the feline. "Not sure they make them in my size though," she paused momentarily. "You know the other Mauvian I met said he could make things, can you make things too? Like...could you make me smaller?"

"Smaller?" Chip echoed, eyes wide. "I don't think that's what he meant, but...hmm..." The little cat started pacing around on the box he'd jumped down onto. "I could probably assemble," he mumbled softly and quickly, "A space compression chamber--no, a beam, definitely a beam. Gotta account for small air, and, hmm..." He paused there. "Why do you want me to make you smaller, anyway?" he asked curiously, his pacing stopped.

Wait, wait, wait...
Could he make her smaller?
Not wanting to let him deviate from this for too long, the now curious senshi shook her head and motioned towards the mauvian.
"Didn't you say I should tell them off from the shoulders of someone bigger than me?" she asked with a mischievous smile. "I'm pretty big so I would need to be a more reasonable size, you know?" she pointed out.
Now that he was even trying to consider the possibility of such a tool, she was more than a little curious to see what could be done in regards to this conundrum. However, she did have to wonder what some of these things were and where they'd come from. Arthur had said his space pocket wasn't that big, was he holding out on her?

"Ohhh!" Chip replied, as if that was a perfectly reasonable explanation. "I getcha! You wanna ride in style." He nodded. "Now, I've never tried something like that, and I'd need to sit you down in my workshop for a while to even try." He grinned winningly, tiny pointy-toothed mouth open happily. "And it'd probably be dangerous! But that's science for ya, sometimes! So...wanna try~? I promise my friends won't bite." Now Chip was rather blatantly baiting for a slightly different situation. He did, of course, mean exactly what he'd said: He'd happily try to shrink her. That it involved visiting the Negaverse and possibly visiting with a general-queen first was, of course, entirely beside the point.

Oh it was tempting, so tempting!
If you could shrink someone then she sort of wanted to be the first one to give it a go; at the same time, taking up offers from strange cats in abandoned boatyards was something even she knew wasn't the smartest thing to do. Now and then she did have some savvy, not always, but at this point in time her brain was giving a very firm talking to to her impulse control.
"Where's the workshop?" she asked curiously and lifted a brow.
Now if she didn't have to go in to some weird and wonderful regions she might be all right with it, but if he was taking her down some odd alleys she may have to reconsider. He was a cute cat, he was friendly and seemed genuinely interested in pursuing it too... But she had to take some precautions.
Although being tiny and yelling at someone from a friend's shoulder would probably be fairly entertaining.
