Her father always said to be careful. She wish she held onto his words more strongly. For the pup fancied a deep gash to her front right leg thanks to her attempt in climbing a tree, she witnessed one of those oversize cats climb one and thought she too could do the same. Her fall wasn't pleasant and the gash to her leg a reminder of her mistake. She let out a whimper and for once she hid in the tall blades of grass awaiting for her father to return.
She began to lick away at her wound, flinching at the pain. The sun was at it's highest and thus her father was unlikely to return until nightfall. So, she would stay hidden until he returns not wanting to bring attention with her being wounded. It was unlikely she'd be able to sprint let alone walk well.
Lesson learned. Do not climb trees, you are not an oversize cat. She mentally said to herself.

Graverobber padded through the forest with a few mushrooms hanging from his mouth. Safe ones, luckily. His tail flicked idly behind him as he neared the entrance to his cave, intent on tossing the mushrooms to the side and picking back up on his gardening attempts.
Until he heard a whimper.
An ear flicked as he froze and lifted his head towards the sound, arching his back to try and peer through the greenery. Was that a wolf? Clearly -- he could smell them. For a moment his head turned back towards his cave before he jerked it back towards where the sound came from. Someone needed help. That, or they were just sulking. Either way, he wanted to find out.
Padding towards where the sound came from, he spotted the puppy. Were they lost? He looked around him, ears flattening. He didn't see any parents.
s**t.
"Little pup," he called once he dropped the mushrooms. He hadn't spotted the wound yet, but he smelled blood. "Are you hurt?"

Burnt Ash's whimper ceased as a stranger called out to her. Her nose sniffled while picking up on the scent of the stranger, a wolf but was this wolf a friendly wolf? She wondered while peering through the tall grass. Her heterochromia eyes stared wearily at the adult male wolf.
Remain calm.
Remain calm.
She repeated in her head over and over as she stared wide eyed at the stranger. Her muzzle was stain with blood from licking at her wound and well she reeked of blood probably alerting any predator nearby who was in need of a tasty snack. Despite her fear the pain conquered her senses and with a shaky voice she said "Y--Yes!!!"

He heard her shaky voice, concern flashing in his features. Not only was she a puppy alone, but she was hurt. He noted her blood again, padding up quickly. He didn't dare touch her, though, instead nodding his heard towards the direction of his cave.
"I have some poultice I keep for when I get hurt, and we can find something to cover the wounds." Wow, speaking with a pup was far easier than with an adult. "Can you walk? How hurt are you? What happened?" He was rambling, he heard it, but he genuinely was concerned. Puppies shouldn't be on their own. They could easily get sick and hurt. Something foreign shifted in his chest; was it anger? How could someone just leave them on their own?
Or was it the realization his feelings were half for the pup and half for himself. He had been alone as a puppy and suffered greatly. Maybe that was why he was so concerned -- he knew what it was like being small and afraid.

Burnt Ash felt so small when the adult male approached her. She began to shrink down a little. Perhaps it was a bad idea to go out into the light place alone after all, she just wanted to be like her sister and explore alone to feel on the same level as her. But, being playful instead of being cautious she wound up getting hurt. Her parents will be crossed that's for sure.
"Umm..yeah.." she nodded and shifted her gaze to stare down at her front right leg "I thought I could climb like those over-sized felines...but I lost my grip.." she whimpered as she got up from the ground, she could walk if she limped.

Graverobber sympathetically hummed in response, noting her leg. Curiosity killed the cat, it seemed. He didn't blame her interest -- he had always wondered how those large felines had managed to pull themselves into trees, but he had never dared try himself. He nodded, watching how she cringed with lowered ears. Of course she was afraid! Poor thing.
"You'll learn in time cats make little sense. Did you know they can squeeze past anything, practically?" He had always made a note if he angered said wild felines to never squirm himself into something small; they'd always find a way in.
"Here, come with me. I'll walk slow," he promised, making a move to pad off before he paused. Manners, Grave.
"Ah, my name is Graverobber."
