One last patrol. That was what this was going to be, and honestly, Gelria was more excited than he was letting on. Well, one last patrol for a while at least. The sale of the cabin had gone through, and he and Benji would be moving up to the mountains at the end of the week. It was going to be wonderful. Their own sanctuary.
Hopefully, there wouldn’t be any issues tonight, and the two of them could just settle down and enjoy the summer air. Gelria glanced over at his partner and slid his hand into Chara’s squeezing it lightly and idly thinking about how nice the future was going to be. They could get normal jobs out in the mountains, and not have to worry about the fighting and the danger that this city posed. Though of course…he would be keeping his apartment here just in case they ever wanted to come back. In case anything ever happened that would cause them to need to return to the city, to protect innocents…
If they felt like it.
Honestly, out of sight out of mind in Caleb’s thoughts. If he didn’t have to be in the city, seeing all of the damage and the deaths, the disappearances…well. He wouldn’t really care as much.
At least. That was his hope.
“Hey, Chara? Where do you want to walk? I’m honestly good with anything…I know you weren’t totally excited for this but…I don’t know. Before we give it up…one last hoorah, right?” He gave a little laugh and smiled at the senshi that would soon become his life partner.

Honestly, Chara had no idea why he wanted to go out powered today. It wasn't as if he was still regularly doing it or had anyone he really cared about protecting. There was Gelria, of course, who took his hand and held it tightly, but Gelria could also take care of his own damned self.
... He shouldn't be thinking like that though. They were going to be married soon enough, and they were already working on moving away from all this nonsense.
The fighting, the death, the pain, all of that would be left behind... And he was more than a little excited for it.
Maybe it was because he knew that all the pain he had gone through was finally ending, and with that, Chara, no, Benji would be free of all this damned hurt. No family to worry about, no friends who'd betray him and abandon him...
Just him and the love of his life... It sounded like too perfect of a fairy tale, but ******** it, he had earned this happiness, no matter what anyone else said!
"I think... Up there." Chara pointed to a tall, unfinished highrise. Maybe it had lost funding at some point, as it looked entirely abandoned. It was just the sort of place he used to hang out all the time when he felt truly alone. Seemed like the perfect place to go up on and say goodbye to the city.
"I bet we could see everything from up there. One last look, you know?"

Gelria glanced at where Chara was pointing and he grinned, nodding. “That’s a great place for a final goodbye, I think. I like it.” He squeezed the other senshi’s hand and couldn’t quite keep the smile off of his face. The hand holding Chara’s felt doubly warm due to the fact that his fiancé held it so tightly.
“Moving doesn’t mean that we can’t come back if we decide to…it just means that…we don’t have to worry, you know?” He couldn’t quite tell if he was trying to reassure Chara or himself, for now that this was honestly the last patrol…he was almost a little sad.
“I’m still keeping the apartment, so we’ll have a place to stay…and you know I’ll have to have us come back for more of that taco pizza. That stuff is terribly addictive and I’ll never forgive you for introducing me to it…but damn if it isn’t good.” He grinned again suddenly and let go of the male’s hand. “Race you to the top?”
It wasn’t a fair question. It wasn’t a fair race. Gelria knew he’d lose. Chara was stronger than he was and faster and could reach the top with far more ease. “Maybe give me a head start though?” The super senshi took off, making his way towards the high rise and working on climbing up the unfinished structure.

"Pfft, don't call it a final goodbye, makes it sound like we're dying or something. Like you said, we can come back whenever." Home was just going to be in the woods now. Where Caleb was. All that pain and suffering in the city could just be left behind and it would be wonderful. No reason to fight when all that you loved was already right by your side.
He could say more about taco pizza, about those late night rides together, or the small fights they had, but what was the point? They could recount all those memories later.
Right now what mattered was leaving his lover in the dust. The power difference was so very evident between them, for each step Gelria took, Chara felt as if he could take two, maybe three. Or maybe it only felt hat way because his legs were short. Either way he zoomed right past Gelria, pausing only to give his lover a quick pinch on the butt before once again going out of reach.
The top was much higher up than anticipated, but ********, if he didn't feel powerful.

Gelria laughed softly. “I mean…to the city! Not because we’re dying we’re just…moving on!” Moving away. Moving up. He shook his head and tried to follow as quickly as he could, though he knew that he wasn’t quite that strong yet, and clearly not that fast either.
It was kind of nice to take his time, and the as the hope of beating Chara to the top left after a few moments, he took a slower route, gazing out over the sleeping city with a soft, fond smile. He would miss it, yeah but…the pros outweighed the cons by somewhere around a million to one.
Still though…he would miss it.
And being a senshi…he’d miss that too.
Quietly, Gelria chuckled again, watching as Chara made it to the top and giving a silent cheer. “Congrats, you b*****d. You won this time, but just watch out, I’ll be stronger too, eventually.”

The fools had no way of knowing what was in store for them, and if she were to be honest Lauren Renard had no idea what was about to transpire either. It was supposed to have been nothing more than a pleasure jaunt. A moment of quiet reflection as a civilian to watch the peaceful sleeping city. The summer had thus far been so hot and oppressive that the breeze from on top of the tower made her feel somewhat refreshed with her long, dark red hair billowing out behind her.
There was too much to think about, and now that she finally had the solitude that she had been craving, she half wished Joe and Justice to spend the evening with her. When had been the last time that they had all just relaxed together? It hadn’t been at all during this tenure in Destiny City, Joe was far too focused on his school and Justice…was far too focused on whatever the hell he did.
With a sigh, the young woman laid her chin on her hands, allowing a brief respite in which to close her eyes and relax.
Though of course it was over all too soon when she heard the sound behind her of someone else on the rooftop, and when she turned, all thoughts of idle laziness were banished.
This was a senshi. This was suddenly a business trip, and the smile that split her face as she allowed the power of the General Queen to fill her, summoning her duel swords into her hands was frightening. “Oh how lucky! You’ve come to play little senshi~”
Her aura was overwhelming, and it seemed to sour the very night air as she took a good look at Chara. “Tell me! Do you prefer death, or impressment? Or of course, I could always choose that for you!”
She lunged without giving him a chance to answer, swords glinting in the light of the moon.

"You b*****d? Is that any way you should be talking to the love of your life? I'll keep that in mind when you're saying your wedding vows. And we endearingly call each other bastards! Hows that sound?" Chara had kept his eyes on Gelria, watching the man stop in place for a bit, then tapping his foot with impatience.
"Come on! Get your a**--" There it was, a sudden shock of power that forced him to choke on his words. It was insane the way it felt, pushing down on him and feeling as if he was being forced under water by the sheer fear that was coming over him.
Whoever it was didn't hesitate, and it was all he could do to move out of the way of the attack, falling hard on his shoulder to roll away. It wasn't as if he wasn't used to fighting, but this... This was brand new.
"Go ******** yourself and get out of here!" Half his words were directed towards this crazy a** woman before him, the other half towards his partner who still hadn't made it to the top of the building. Back on his feet, Chara began to run away from where he was before. Further from Gelria, directing whoever this woman was to the other side of the rooftop.
"Just try it, you ******** Nega-s**t! Death by Chocolate!"
Orangeish Sherbert Eternal Sailor Attack: Chara Death by Chocolate
Chara calls out his attack and the opponent is drenched in a waterfall of thick, energy chocolate that hardens immediately. The amount of chocolate would always be enough to cover an individual whole but most or not all of it can be dodged with enough speed. If it covers a finger, that becomes stiff, the whole arm, becomes stiff. Whole body, Completely immobile.
If captured the target will be unable to move as if they were encased by 1 inch thick chocolate for 15 seconds. At a higher rank an individual may be able to break free but for a lower level it's like trying to smash through a plaster wall.
He may use this twice per battle.

The sudden flare of a very strong chaos aura nearly had Gelria losing his footing and almost caused him to fall to what would have undoubtedly been his death. The senshi held on though and began moving even faster up the building, his mind racing with thoughts that he didn’t want to be having right now.
Damnit! He wasn’t going to let anything happen to Chara…not here…not now! Not now that they were literally about to run away together, to leave all of this s**t behind them…this was stupid!
He heard the cry to get out of here, and he figured it was directed at him…but…
“Like hell I’m leaving!” Gelria’s words were strong, in spite of his fear and as he finally made it to the top of the building he hissed as he saw what they were up against…but still…still…it was two against one, right? They had a chance…they had to have some sort of a chance.
“Cinnamon Storm!”
As the magic flew from his hands…he realized belatedly that Chara was in the area too…but maybe this would work out…if she got distracted from Chara’s chocolate and his own cinnamon…maybe they could run!The Space Cauldron Cinnamon Storm Gelria holds out his hand and a puff of ground cinnamon comes out Visual. The cinnamon causes irritation to the eyes, nose and throat. The puff of cinnamon can reach out up to a radius of eight feet, and affects everyone in the area except Gelria himself. The attack can be used twice per battle, and the cinnamon puff lasts for twenty five seconds before dissipating.

Oh, the reaction from the senshi was amusing and Hessonite laughed uproariously. It was the perfect lines from a comedy and the fact that there was another senshi that the first was trying to warn away. How cute!
“You think that your little chocolate magic will do anything to me? You did say chocolate didn’t you? Isn’t that delicious! It was simple enough to move out of the way of the magic, though her left hand and left sword got stuck in it and as it hardened, her eyes gleaming in amusement.
“How very interesting! It truly is chocolate! My goodness.”
The second wave of magic was a bit more unexpected, and as the General Queen looked up at the sound of the second voice, she managed to get a face full of the magic and her eyes began to water almost at once.
Oh. Now. If she could get both of these two…that would be ideal but…for now.
“You really think those parlor tricks will stop me?”
She laughed again, working hard to hide the cough that was threatening to tear through her throat but as she freed her hand from the chocolate, a wicked smile spread across her face and she moved swiftly, her hand slipping into Chara’s back with ease, fingers gripping his delicate starseed with almost tenderness.
“Since you both decided it was a good idea to attack, I’ve decided that the answer will be…”
Squeezing the starseed in her hand, she laughed in Chara’s ear, hoping he would expect death, and then flooding his starseed with a rush of chaos.
“…Impressment. You will make a wonderful addition to our ranks. This will hurt like hell, but it will be more than worth it when it’s over.” Her voice was soft and silky, going from threatening to an almost croon. “You won’t remember anything, but that’s okay. I didn’t either.”

The moment that woman shattered the chocolate around her hand as if it were nothing, Chara knew there would be no escape.
Had he gone rusty? Had the times of peace that he and Gelria shared forced him into a sense of security too much, to even consider being strong enough to fight this woman who held such immense power, he felt he was going to choke?
None of it mattered as it seemed she near teleported behind him, her hand striking deep into his very core.
"G-Gelria..." The pain was nauseating, every single cell in his body was on fire, and for once, he could feel tears burning his eyes. For only a moment he thought death was coming for him. He was never afraid of it before, and at one time or another, he even welcomed it.
Impressment. The word barely registered before he let out a scream. Everything was blurring, and again and again he screamed, squirming and fighting against her grip as best he could. Saliva dripped down his chin, his eye grew glazed, giving one last pained glance at Gelria before they squeezed closed. His hair grew long, his clothes grew dark, and he screamed.
And screamed...
And screamed and screamed and screamed until his entire body grew slack and he fell unconscious with nothing but that hand in his chest holding him up.

Gelria’s screams matched Chara’s and for a moment he could do nothing, nothing but stand and stare and watch as his boyfriend. His future was utterly destroyed before his eyes. He watched as the colors on his fuku changed from white to black, how that beautiful white hair suddenly grew with dizzying speed. He watched as the red headed b***h smiled, and then suddenly vanished, holding his lover in her arms.
His corrupted lover.
No. No that wasn’t even right. Chara…Chara was gone. Dead. Whatever she had turned him into…that was not who Gelria was in love with. Who Caleb was in love with.
He felt numb all over, and when he was sure that they weren’t coming back, he sank down on knees that would no longer support his weight.
This was his fault. He had asked for this last patrol. He had wanted this one last romantic tryst as Gelria and Chara…and now he was alone. And there was no getting him back. There was no coming back from chaos. No going back to the way things were, the hopeful young men about to go and live in a cabin, away from the fighting, away from cares. Away from everything.
Everything was over.
Several hours passed before Gelria could find the strength to get up from where he sat, stunned and shaken. The sun was peeking up over the horizon, a mocking symbol of hope and renewal. There was no hope left anymore. The super senshi finally picked himself up and turned his back forcibly on the awakening day. It was time to go home and mourn.Kapoodles My gelria muse has always been a pos
