A certain statically blue bird was flying around in unfamiliar territory, her curiosity and pride having gotten the better of her. How far away from home was she at this point? Who knew? She sure didn't. But she'd been going south for a considerable amount of time by this point in an attempt to prove how cool she was. As the first born, she had to set an example for her younger brother to live by. What kind of sister would she be if she needed permission and foresight before doing what she wanted to do?
Hah!
Of course, having never traveled outside of cliffs near Koehara and the nearby Ithyl Forest, the young harpy had no way of knowing how far south into the Quiet Woods she'd traversed. No way of knowing how dangerously close to the Dragnid she'd come.
Perhaps if she did, she'd have turned back.
The sun was just beginning to set as the young harpy continued south through the trees.

Nagendra slithered through the trees, looking for his next meal. Maybe something small he could eat himself? Perhaps he should get something large like a deer to share with the family.
He doubted he would run into his traitorous siblings in the woods, but if he did he'd kill em, and drag their corpse back to the clan. Proof that he was strong, and loyal.
Ah but for now it was time to focus on hunting, can't kill traitors on an empty stomach after all.

With a glance upwards, the teen realized all too late that there was absolutely no way she'd be able to return home before nightfall and instead moved to perch on a tree in the wood's canopy. She raised a hand to shield her eyes from the suns rays as she looked westward, mildly impressed that she'd essentially flown the past several hours.
How awesome was she? Very.
She yawned loudly, lazily, as she stretched her arms above her head, relishing the feeling it gave her arm and back muscles before a fairly loud noise from her stomach yelled out in protest. Apparently she was, in fact, hungry. No surprise there. Moving to a crouched position, she turned her back towards the south as she reversed and figured she might as well hunt northward before hunkering down and returning home after sunrise.
Naturally, she didn't even consider that there could be a hunter stronger than her in these parts.
