Parties - Gryph is often invited to attend sleazy events alongside his employer, due to Gryphon's sheer massive size putting off an intimidating 'don't ******** with us' air. When he keeps his mouth shut, he certainly looks a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately for his boss, Gryph doesn't really like to keep his mouth shut. He's generally a laid-back dude who's not easily riled or offended, and he's friendly in an almost intrusive way. Having so many people around is a really enjoyable way to keep himself distracted, as far as he's concerned. Big, loud to-do's are his jam, with lots of peoples' businesses to invade. He's easily distracted and wants to be, so keep him entertained and he's more like a teddy than a grizzly.
Camping - Gryphon spent a lot of his early adulthood backpacking across Australia and later, Europe. He's no stranger to the outdoors and has a preference for being outside, rather than inside. All those woodsy activities like hiking, climbing, boating, canoeing are things he's into, and has the equipment ready so that he can kinda go out on any ole' whim he might have. To a lesser extent he's decent at bow-hunting, but tends to distinctly prefer group hunts, whereas he doesn't mind doing the other activities by himself. But all his favorite date spots are on lakes, between trees, or in fields, so he tends to default to hoping most of his friends like the outdoors too. He also loves to travel and see new locations in general.
Guitar - What more is there to say? Gryphon likes most music, but there's something special about the slow, soft, and sweet kind, and he enjoys the ambiance of a little one-man performance during the parties he attends and the camping he does. He is far from naturally talented at it, but has had enough years of practice (though no formal lessons) that he's picked up a few tricks and knows a decent handful of music to play. Just don't talk to him about chords or slides. He knows almost nothing of the vocabulary and has learned solely based on sound cues.
Virtues:
Temperate -- Gryphon is overall a decent dude. It takes a lot to work him to excitement (whether in a pleased or angered or saddened way), so he is an easy-going neutral zone for people with more erratic emotions to help level out. Great, since he doesn't mind being that source for friends and strangers alike. He can be a listening ear or a guiding hand (though he is not the brightest, and any advice he gives should probably be taken under consideration), and it pleases him to help others find a peaceful state. Parties are only parties if everyone is having a good time, right? He'd rather listen to and attempt so solve your problems over dealing with his own.
Charming -- With a good spirit and an amicable heart and gentle disposition, Gryphon is a naturally friendly guy and is outgoing enough to put himself in your business without needing to be approached first. Some could definitely call him intrusive, but he's really just trying to make you laugh and see you have a good time. He thinks he's pretty content already, and everyone else looks like they could use a lot of damn help in that regard.
Patient -- Nothing good happens quickly, and Gryphon doesn't mind waiting on those good things, however long they may take. He's a big champion of 'stopping to smell the roses,' and being sure that whatever gift life gives him is enjoyed to its full potential, without feeling a need to rush into the next thing. He has no interest in keeping or making deadlines and doesn't feel particularly beholden to those that others make. Just let him do him, and everyone will get along fine. Even so, he is in a constant state of feeling like he's 'waiting,' though if you'd ask him what for, he'd say he didn't know just yet...
Flaws:
Flippant -- Are your problems really problems? Nothing is all that bad. Gryphon can be a little too dismissive when concerns are raised regarding pretty much anything. Even if he doesn't mind listening to your problems and is even pro helping you with them, he is not the one to go to for all of your minor ails and worries if it doesn't seem like something worth wasting your upset over. If he can't comprehend why your feelings are what they are, he's likely to brush it off and encourage you to do the same, with whatever means necessary.
Unpredictable -- As Gryphon isn't a man who makes or keep plans, he tends to play things by ear and take whatever results he gets. Sometimes this is fun and exciting, or that's how he usually describes it, but it also tends to make him a little unreliable. It's anyone's guess if he'll show up when or where he says he'll show up, and it also makes him a poor choice for holding a stable and legal job, as scheduling around work hours isn't much his cup of tea. Gryphon likes his freedom, and he equates the ability to execute his whims as he has them as close to freedom as he can come. Aside from unpredictability in that regard, he also tends to just do unexpected things, like showing up in places he shouldn't or saying things maybe not completely socially correct.
Slow -- Gryphon's mental capacity can be a bit lacking. He's a sweet guy, but understanding complex situations and comprehending deep emotions is a bit beyond his capacity. He recognizes obvious things like when something isn't 'right' or when someone is hurt, but the why of it often eludes him, and Gryphon isn't one to seek out the answers for it. As far as he's concerned, sometimes things just are, and the reasons of it aren't important. He can be forgetful or downright neglectful of even trying to come to full comprehension
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Deep set eyes with quite heavy brows. Bright, sunny orange irises!
Hair: Thick curls in a sort of... mauve-magenta color. Can wear it down, but it's usually up in a man bun or ponytail.
Face: He's got kind of a rounded, boxy head. Eyes look real small in his face, and his nose is thick and broad. He's got a lot of stubble.
Skin Tone: Warm dark brown.
Body Type: Gryph is quite a husky dude. He stands at a stupidly tall 6'7" with rather impressive bulk to go with it. He's also a little bit hairy...
