Nix got a message from a new (to him, at least) Senshi who wanted to get together for some training! He did always like knowing people thought it was helpful...and so he set up a time and place--one of his usual spots for this sort of thing: Atop a tall, but not the tallest, building in Downtown, with a few decent handholds along the outsides to climb up (or jump-climb, as the case may be).

He supposed getting up was trial #1 for people who had no idea what they were doing, so always made sure to keep an eye out in case they were afraid or confused...although anyone who'd been a senshi for any length of time wouldn't have much trouble.

Still, it being someone he didn't know, he arrived a bit earlier than the time he'd set, and sat himself on the very edge of the building, froggy feet hanging over the side, and peered downward, waiting for evidence of someone coming.

Nix noticed an energy signature after a bit, and peered downward. He couldn’t actually see her where he was, so he moved to a new spot and leaned out over the side. From below, one could perhaps see his top half poking out over the building. He squinted a bit, and realized she was considering the wrong building.

That one wasn’t as tall, but...it was close-ish. He considered hopping down the building to her, or sending her a message, but then decided, “Nahh, over there’s fine.” So, rather than doing something to make her feel silly, he just leaped over to the next building, making sure to not do that directly above her, and then popped over the side again above her, to wave cheerfully, then do a bit “come here” gesture and a thumbs up, hoping it would be good encouragement.

“Yup, I’m Nix,” he agreed with a nod, and an offer of a hand to shake “Nice to meet you, Virginiaterese!” He grinned and shook his head after that. “It’s no trouble. See, I put a thing out in the senshi database a while ago telling people they should do exactly that—so it happens a lot!”

He looked around at this rooftop. Honestly, most rooftops weren’t that interesting, though this one looked to have a little garden on it. That was nice. “It wasn’t too much trouble getting here, I hope?” He asked. “Moving around as a senshi can be a bit weird sometimes, after all.”

Nix nodded agreeably to her explanation, and didn’t comment on the choice of building or climbing. Instead, he let her look around a moment. No reason not to, really, and having an idea of what was around was always a good idea.

“Oh, you haven’t?” He asked, grinning. “That’s alright. I can help you figure it out. As for rules, well...it depends on what you wanna get out of this, I suppose.” He shrugged lightly. “Though, using your magic is always a good idea, because if you use it on someone like me, you can see exactly how it works, without your opponent trying to, uh, actually hurt you, ya know?”

He paused a beat, then asked, “So, what would you like? Magic use practice, some basic hand to hand combat, or like a chase?”

"Ohh," Nix replied, nodding in understanding. "Healing magic! That's cool. I know another senshi with powers like that, and I'm sure there's more...but that's good to know! We don't need to focus on that, but," he paused and tapped his cheek twice.

"It's still good to have some idea how to handle a fight if it comes up...even if most of the time your goal is to be with a senshi like me or a knight." He nodded at that. "So, let's go over some basics, okay?"

He shifted his stance into a spread out, arms up fighting stance, a friendly smile still on his face. "Just do what I do, and we'll be fine."

"Yeah, like that!" Nix replied encouragingly, nodding. "Okay, so let's try some basic punches," he says. "Get a feel for it, and how to not break your hand--though I think it's actually really hard for us to break our hands powered up."

He air punched a few times, and explained a bit of basic technique for her, then after she tried as well, he shifted his pose to hold an open palm toward her, braced carefully. "Okay! Now punch my hand! Real solid!"

As Virginiaterese launched her fist, Nix may have shifted ever so slightly so that the hit ended up directly on his palm. Can't confirm that. He grunted softly, then said, "Good!" and shook his hand around. "See how that felt? Try lining it up a bit differently..." he provided some demonstrations to what he meant.

"Now, of course, fighting isn't always the best idea," he told her after a bit, "but if you know at least the basics of how to do it, you can react better. And sometimes there's no way around it...just gotta bash 'em in the face...or lick 'em." He grinned, his tongue poking between his teeth.

Dumb statement, but he didn't care.

Nix laughed and shook his head. "Naw, licking is my thing, because of my magic," he explained. "Though, if you have something that could, it could definitely confuse somebody pretty well!"

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, then. "What do your familiars do, anyway? Anything you ask them to? Do they like...ride around on your shoulder?" He grinned. "Sounds cute! Especially if they can hop off and lick people, heh."

The variety of senshi magic was always an interesting thing to see and learn about, Nix reflected. So many variations. Lot of it pretty...useless, if he was being honest, but not all, to be sure.
