Why did I think going out tonight was a good idea?! Versailles thought to himself as he continued to look out at the street underneath the closed store cover that he had taken shelter in to get away from the rain. He hadn't wanted to go out tonight, but he was behind on his energy collecting, and had to go out tonight before he was too late in getting what he needed and subsequently being reprimanded.

It was dreary and he hated the rain, especially with this stupidly-long hair as a corrupt. He was very glad that it didn't drag across the ground, but it felt like 10 pounds had been added to his head from being soaked. He was lucky that he had more strength now so that he could continued to hold his head up without too much effort.

After another five minutes Versailles was about to call it quits, when someone came running out of a store and ran past him. It took a second for Versailles to connect that the store-alarm that he could barely here was going off because of this man, who was apparently trying to make a run for it. This should be easy then. Versailles thought to himself as he ran after the man, easily catching up to him, and knocking the other out. He dragged the man into an empty and somewhat dry alleyway to drain his energy, not caring about the stolen goods that the man had dropped when he had been knocked out.

It was just rain. Just stupid, wet, muggy rain, that Caia would have loved if he could have found puddles to jump in, or someone to enjoy the weather with.

Or, if he'd been inside, at home, curled up on the couch and watching bad movies. With a whole box of lucky charms, too. The longer the night went on, the more he was considering it. Just give up, go home. Don't deal with the cold water, the clothes sticking to you, the hair smacking you in the face, the water in your boots.

Don't deal with the--Corrupted Senshi?

He paused, and had to take a step back to look down the alleyway he thought he saw something in. Knew he felt something, though.

There was no denying it.

He knew dark alleyways were a prime point to drain energy--or worse--and despite his reservation, his fear, of any Negaverse representative, he summoned what bravado he could muster and called: "Whatever you're doing back there, stop it."

Versailles had rolled his eyes when he had felt the aura Order pop up. He groaned when he actually heard whoever it belonged to speak up. Really? Tonight of all nights?! He thought to himself as he tried to drain the man a bit more quickly.

He refused to answer the senshi, but made a point to move himself over to a dryer spot, hoping that he would be able to hear the senshi so that the other wouldn't be able to sneak up on him in this rain. He had brought the man too, continuing to drain him. He was almost done. And once he was, he could just get out of here and be on his way...

Caia waited for a few seconds more and then hesitated before pushing himself down towards the alleyway. What good was being a Senshi if you didn't do anything? His brother saved people all the time.

"Hey," he said again. "Come on, really."

He trotted over, almost as if with the expectation of greeting an old friend. "You got what you wanted out of him, leave him alone. If you drain him any more he's going to get sick. Or murdered or something back here."

He didn't want to fight; he didn't want to hurt or be hurt, but his magic was on his mind and he was trying to figure out if he had the strength to carry that guy and run away before his magic wore off. "So I'm asking again, please? Stop?"

His brother could have done this so much better, he could hear Jeremy's voice in the back of his head--firm, commanding. People listened to Jeremy all the time--and he was always hunting down criminals.

...Next time, maybe, he could try to emulate his brother more, but he didn't know if he could hold the facade up for long enough that someone wouldn't just see right through it.

Versailles looked at the other with a questioning eyebrow, dropping the man and pocketing the orb of energy that he had just obtained. "Guess you don't know what this guy just did. It's just like you senshi. Defend everyone no matter what, even if they're just as guilty." Versailles replied. While he hadn't yet met any knights that had question him like this, somehow all of the senshi were goody-two-shoes who apparently believed that everyone was innocent and should be treated as though they were five-year-olds or something who didn't know about how bad the world was.

Versailles had plenty of the opposite experience, if what he overheard at the parties he had to attend were true at all. And every day they proved to be so.

He hadn't gone after someone innocent. It wasn't a man who was going home after a long day of work and bringing back some medicine for the family or a woman who was just trying to make it home safely. None of that. And yet, this senshi still believed that what Versailles was doing was wrong.

No matter, he really shouldn't care about the other's opinion anyway. All he had to do was escape with this energy and turn it in. In the meantime though, he would need a distraction... "Look, I don't have time to argue with you. Just get out of my way and I'll be going." Versailles expected no such thing to happen though, and was ready to send out one of his magic spells if need be.

Caia's eyes followed the energy orb until it disappeared; his gaze snapped back up when the man began talking again.

He had stopped draining him, so the part of Caia that wanted to avoided conflict wanted to just move aside and let him pass.

...But the part of him that was telling him to stand up for people, for what was right, sounded strangely like his brother. He didn't move.

If he did nothing, this would happen again. This guy wouldn't think twice about grabbing someone--and the verdict, the law, of a single person couldn't be trusted.

"I'm just saying, you can't go around draining people like that," he gestured to the man on the ground. "--You don't know him, or what he's doing. Guilt--Guilt is something that's supposed to be determined in the court of law, you know?" He wasn't as eloquent as he could have been, should have been, when trying to make a point--but he was giving it his best. "There has to be a better way for you to do that. And I think--I think you should give it back. No matter what he did, it doesn't justify you stealing from him. It just makes you guilty, too."

Versailles lips turned upward into a sneer. "You know, for someone who says that they go around helping civilians, it certainly seems like you want to make sure that civilians who haven't done anything, but were victimized, shouldn't get any justice. But I suppose you're one of those Senshi who think all human life is precious or something." Versailles really couldn't believe the "reasons" that this Senshi was spouting. They were utterly ridiculous! He must have been one of those bleeding-heart types. Versailles couldn't stand them. They thought they knew how the world worked and if "everyone could just get along!" then peace and harmony or some other BS would happen.

It didn't. Some people are born legitimately evil. Some are just plain greedy. Whatever the case was, Versailles knew plenty of those who wouldn't think twice about squashing this Senshi like an insect if the Senshi were to talk to them that way.

"I suppose you think of everyone as innocent no matter what? If you saw someone steal something from you right in front of your eyes, I'm sure you would just think that they needed to borrow whatever it was really quickly and then they would totally give it back!" Versailles said the last part of it in a mocking ton. He didn't have time for people who thought that holding hands and singing about friendship or something would fix everything.

"Get out of my way White Moon. I don't want to deal with you tonight." This senshi had more power on him, and if he had to fight he would. But he would also take any opportunity to run away too. He wasn't stupid enough to stay in a fight that he couldn't win.

Caia almost flinched. "If you're so concerned, then just call the police! Being a vigilante isn't going to..."

He paused and then reached up to rub the back of his neck. "Well--I mean, look." He just seemed exasperated. He wasn't good at being confrontational, and it's not like Versailles didn't have a good point. Yes, he'd certainly rather innocent people not get screwed over, but...

He shifted on his feet, brows knit. "Most human life is precious. But I know there are bad people. I'm not stupid. I just think..." He deflated a little, pressing his hands on his hips to try and force himself to keep standing upright.

"...Do you only drain energy from bad people? Like. People you know are bad?"

His resolve was weakening; he couldn't pick a fight with someone who had put so much thought into why this guy was a decent target. If he was stealing, if he was hurting someone else...

How could Caia try to stop him if he was doing something good for the city by stopping bad people?

"...And you don't use that energy for anything bad?"

"I think you know the saying. 'When you have only have seconds, the police are minutes away.' The police could do nothing. And there would be no witnesses, and there are still stores stupid enough to think that they don't need security cameras." Honestly, in this day and age, it was just dumb not to have them. They were relatively cheap now, to not have them was pure laziness.

"99% of the time I do. There are a lot of bad people out there. But if need be I can drain others who haven't done anything bad that I know of. Of course, no one is truly innocent are they?" Really, he wondered what this man's life experience had been. If he had lived a life like Versailles, one of splendor and money but seeing all of the evil seeped beneath it... would he really care about all of these humans?

"Anyway Order, I don't have time for all of this." Versailles was getting bored of talking to this Senshi. They seemed reluctant to fight, and Versailles wanted to leave. Therefor the Senshi was just wasting his time. He raised his left hand. "Behold my Splendor." He said, and snapped his fingers. A light shined down on him and he only hoped that the Senshi hadn't blinked or turned around or something. He just wanted to get out of here, and it would be best to do it while the Senshi was distracted.

Caia did not know the saying but nodded anyway as he tried to process it. It was easy, given how sound his logic was, and a bit of guilt had nudged its way into the pit of his stomach. There were a lot of bad people, he heard about them all the time. On the news, in the streets, from his brother.

His brother, a police officer, who was always trying his hardest. Who got mad at him for trying to help given that he was technically a vigilante, which was a criminal act in its own way, but it was by far the worst crime anyone could commit. Especially when they were trying to help someone.

Caia would have been easily distracted even if not for the magic, but his eyes had still been firm on Versailles when the magic was cast. He blinked once, twice, before the effects had fully sunken in. If he'd had any thoughts of fighting the senshi before him, they dwindled. He felt like a moth lost in a flame, like a child enraptured by Christmas lights. He felt at peace, like he was trapped in a strange lull.

Versailles didn't seem like an enemy, but he found himself suddenly too stumped by the concept that he couldn't figure out what that made him--if he was agreeing with Versailles, then...

His thoughts were muddled; he stood there, far more relaxed than before, brows knit in thought and lips pursed. He might have been able to think clearer if Versailles hadn't seemed so radiant. Caia couldn't seem to move past how beautiful the light had been.

"All right," he found himself saying, but he wasn't quite sure where the words came from. "...Well, you take care of yourself. Be safe. Make good choices."

Versailles couldn't help but smirk. At least his magic seemed to work on someone even if it seemed it didn't appear to work on others. Perhaps he needed to get stronger? In any case, he walked past the Senshi out into the open open, before calling back behind him, "That wasn't so hard was it? And if I were you, I'd leave him behind." He said, pointing at the unconscious thief. "Make sure you think about what you're doing and why you're doing it. Perhaps not everything is as good as you think it is?"

And with that, Versailles was off, getting away from the other's aura until he couldn't feel it anymore and going even a bit further. He couldn't believe the nerve of that other Senshi and in his mind, even if he had been forced into the Negaverse perhaps it wasn't a bad thing. Especially if he had to be like that guy and feel like he had to save everyone, including those who didn't deserve it. Even after he had listened to a couple of those knights, experiences afterwards told him that he was most likely on the right side...

I hope this isn't too abrupt of an ending! But this is the last post from me! Thank you for the rp!

Caia lingered for what felt like moments before he got his wits back--and, even then, he was more muddled in his mind and his heart. The signature was too far away for him to trace, and even if he had known where he was, Caia wasn't even sure he'd have wanted to follow.

Reluctantly, he glanced back at the man he'd drained. There was a bit of guilt, of failure, that lingered in his mind, but he couldn't just leave him.

...Honestly, he didn't know what his brother would do. Probably put him in his patrol car or take him down to the station and wait for him to come to, but Caia had neither of those options.

...But he did have a brother who did.

There was no one around; Caia powered down and drew out his cell phone and, with a heavy sigh, called his brother to figure it out.

It's a great ending! Thank you!
