The tournament had been a huge embarrassment. Cavansite had talked about how proud she was of 'Nubi, how she had high expectations for one of her newest recruits. Maybe that had gotten to her head a bit. After all, she hadn't really done anything spectacular to prove her worth. She had tasted victory with Peri once, but things had gotten complicated and she had ended up saving a life. A life she had taken to begin with. The tournament was supposed to be a chance to redeem herself. Instead she had been beaten mercilessly by an Agent a whole foot taller than herself. She had even cried, in front of everyone.
If she could erase it from her memory she would. It didn't matter to her that it was still a 'valuable' learning experience. Cavansite still praised her even. Did she really deserve that though? Vitriol and 'Mali had been nice about it as well. Was she the only one screaming 'You suck' to herself? Her tricks might work on those outside of her own faction, but they weren't practical enough. If she really hoped to go far in the Negaverse, to be someone that Order feared and her Queen respected, she'd have to do better.
That was what brought her into Negaspace today. Well, that and a quick ride from her General. Though, she wasn't here to train with her. She only wanted to show Cavansite her best and she was certainly not her best. Instead, she had sent a message to her half-youma friend. He had tasted defeat at the tournament as well. She knew he had to be disappointed about that. According to Mali he had received some special bootcamp training from his General before hand. She figured they were both probably in similar moods over their defeat. He would make a good sparring partner, though she might admittedly be a little worried about those claws.
Cavansite had pointed in the direction of the barracks and off she went, admiring the scenery along the way. The dark purple hues of the castle were a comfort in way. She always found comfort in the weirdest places. If only because it was a place they could call their own. Safe from any outside intruders. A place to be totally herself without any worries. It took her some time to get to the barracks, because she stopped to stare at the crystals a bit.
It wasn't too complicated of a trip and the barracks were easy to tell apart from the rest. So this was where Vitriol lived? She wondered how he spent his time here. Did he have any other Agents to hang out with? Did Agents even 'hang out' in the barracks? They probably only came here to sleep.
He was hard to spot at first. His dark purple fur and uniform blended into the surroundings, but when she saw him she smiled. "Hey Vitie! I'm over here!" She was trying to be serious today. Though, she would love nothing more then to wrap her arms around that adorable, small, fluffy frame of his. She was here for training though and didn't want to overstep boundaries with him since she knew how much her brother enjoyed his company.

The answer to what Vitriol did all day was a rather disappointing one to most. The Barracks were bare bones and while other agents had TV's, game systems, and things accumulated through time and money, its own dorm was barren aside from essentials. Most of those were even modified for its larger hands. What little it had were books given to it by general Faustite as homework, a pile of rift crystals it was thinking of making into something, and that was it. Usually it found this all too depressing and instead went out to find work and odd jobs to not only feel useful but to make a few bucks here and there.
In a lull between things, Nubi's text was welcomed and it arrived outside the barracks.
It couldn't deny that it wasn't butter over the tournament results but it knew that it needed to train more as a result. That was how it always had been. It had tasted defeat countless times in countless ways. It knew the high of victory and the lows of defeat. It had only wished to show its General that the training had born fruit. Sadly it seemed everyone it knew had left glum from the tournament.
"Hello. It has been a while." The half-man's said as it came over. It was interested to spar with the senshi as it had not had time to spend time with this twin alone and wanted to talk a while.
"I'm glad you wanted to spar a bit. I'll try not to go after your face." It said as a upfront agreement.
"There is a even spot behind us that is good for sparring. A lot less uneven rock and crystal."

It had been a few weeks since the tournament. It had taken her some time to wrestle with her defeat and how she should handle it. Though, it didn't really feel like all that long ago to her. Maybe when you spent all your time in Negaspace though, it felt longer. Vit wasn't allowed to go out on his own, was there anyone else he patrolled with aside from Mali? Surely he had someone, his General at least?
"The tournament feels like it was yesterday to me." She commented, more gloomy than her usual self. It was all she thought about. Which was distracting both in her classes and work. She wasn't used to being criticized during her shoots But she was getting more comments than usual these days.
"I would appreciate that. I've got an important shoot in a week. Bruises are one thing. They'll fade in time. I'm more worried about the claws." Recently she had realized she might have gone into the wrong profession. She had wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps. To honor her memory that way. Work had been awkward after the tournament though. It wasn't easy to explain that she had hurt her knee so badly in some mundane way.
"Starting out on a more level playing field sounds nice. Though realistically I know things won't always be that easy. Lead the way." After all, he knew this space far better than she did. She only popped in form time to time to drop off energy. "Are you feeling better after the tournament? You match was pretty close. It was impressive to watch." Because she couldn't just walk in silence and she wanted to know more about Vit anyway. More than just what she heard from her brother.

"I would think you'd have plenty to worry about to make that loss seem more distant. What with life, work, and family." It said as it moved to the spot and then moved a ways from Nubi.
"If you get too banged up, I do keep a starseed on me." If bruising and scars out her livelihood in danger then it was a justified expense to give to Nubi to minimize the scaring and visible damage. Though it had to wonder if Nubi had a Plan B for when the likelihood enough damage was taken that modeling couldn't be done anymore. There was no doubt a limit to what surgery and makeup could do to actual physical and magical damage.
It made a ready stance to signal it was set to fight.
"I am better. I wish I could have gone further in the ranking to show something to my general for all the work we had done in training me to be better. I'd done so much better last tournament. I wish I could have won and had felt so sure I could have gone far. I suppose I'm still unused to fighting with this body. But that's probably not the reason. Ive been told I'm too impulsive and rash. I get lost in the moment and don't think to protect myself in order to make an attack. I don't fight as smart as I should." It admitted.
"So in the end, I didn't deserve to win."
"Are you ready?"

"Hmmm, it's not that my brother or Obie didn't try to cheer me up." It was more that she could put on a smile around them and pretend like it didn't bother her anymore. But it did and it always would. She supposed there were times when it wasn't on her mind.
"Thanks for the offer Vit, hopefully you don't bang me up too much." There would very likely be a day when she had to give up her career. It wasn't like she didn't have back up plans. She was going to school for design. Actually, it was her brothers idea that she always have a back up plan. That option would always be there.
Nubi glanced around for a moment, see Vit prepare for the fight. The ground here was definitely more clear then where they had been. Still, she decided to keep the heels on for this fight. It was about time she got used to them instead of always abandoning them somewhere. Once settled on that decision, she got ready herself.
"I think I went in with too much confidence as well. I had hoped to show Cavansite her faith in me wasn't misplaced. But, that's why we're here now. To make up for it." It was nice to know Vit had a similar respect for his General. Peri feared hers and kept them at a distance. Mali didn't like Cavansite, but that was probably her fault and not their General's.
"I am so ready." She was better at defense, so for now she held her ground.

"I'm sure they did their best. But I don't think Mali is the best person for it. He doesn't seem as if he would get wanting to impress your superior officer." It said, trying to put Mali's dislike for authority and the Negaverse as a whole very lightly.
"I'll just go for more jabs and taps. Maybe when your job isn't your appearance, then we can go for blood and guts kind of fighting." It joked as it started to move closer. "You don't need to tear things apart in order to learn. Luckily we heal a lot better than normal people, and you don't have to worry about banging me up. I have no one to impress." It said with a merry tone, though it was serious as well. "Just...don't try to blind me." It mentioned.
That was the only thing it cared about.
"Its pretty refreshing to be with someone who seems to want to work as hard as I do for your general. Cavansite - was that the one with their arm about you during Mali's spar, right?" It sidestepped a few times to get closer to Nubi's side.
"They were the one that corrupted you both. I heard from Mali that you two were saved from near death." It darted forward and went to jab at her side.

Mali certainly did not care for impressing Cavansite at all. If anything he was doing just enough to keep himself out of the prying eyes of their General. She didn't really have anything to say about that and just gave a little shrug in response. She knew her brother's feelings about the Negaverse and it often caused fights between them. None of which were ever resolved properly, just 'let's agree to disagree'. One day he would come around, or at least she hoped he would. It was one of the reasons she was very glad he had a friend like Vit.
"Blind you?! I wouldn't dare do that. We are just sparing right? Don't scare me now." Of course, she knew this wasn't going to be just some simple light sparing. If she wanted to get better she'd have to be more serious about it. But goodness, she'd never go for his eyes. Did he have a reason to be concerned about that?
She stood her ground even as Vitriol moved closer as he spoke about her General. Specifically her General's arm around her shoulder during Mali's match. A genuine smile crossed her face.
"Yes, that was our General, Cavansite. She's simply the best. And she did save us. Mali had a knife to his throat and was telling me to run away. I couldn't do that though, I couldn't leave him...." She was sad for a moment, thinking back to that time. It was terrifying. But she kept her eyes focused on Vitriol's movements.
"Cavansite saved him and offered us power so we could do the same. I don't regret what I did, taking her offer. But I do sometimes regret dragging my brother into it as well...." She had been keeping perfectly still, but once Vitriol was close enough she took a quick step forward with her left foot and swung at him with her right leg. The height difference had her swinging toward his left hip.

"You'd be surprised what can happen in a fight." It said, deciding to leave it at that. "When you are on patrol, don't believe anyone has any sense of honor. They will lie, trick, throw stones, and use whatever they can. Expect weapons and dirty moves. Always. Even if they seem to be on your side, if they aren't a Negaverse agent, they aren't to be trusted. I'd even watch the DMC." It said as it it rose both arms up and turned to take the blunt of the hit.
It went for another jab at her side.
"There is no point regretting what's done. No taking it back now. You could decide for yourself, but even if Mali had all the time in the world, he wouldn't have left your side. He cares about you too much to let you go on your own like that. You are one of the most important things in his life."
"It is good to have siblings. I don't heard about their being much family here. Most have to lie to their own friends and family about having this life. It must be nice though." It had no recollection of any of its family. It could have had many brothers and sisters and not known one way or the other.

Nubi would definitely keep that in mind. She had yet to meet anyone in the DMC. All she knew, she knew from a brief mention from her General and what was in the Negaverse database. Although, she knew they were all Senshi as well. And with the Negaverse's stance on Senshi, she supposed they couldn't really be 100% trusted either.
She took the hit to her side, Vit was quick to recover from her kick and countered easily. She couldn't help but think about what the giant woman she fought in the tournament would do now. But should she really be thinking like an Agent? Especially when fighting one, they were physically more capable. For now she took the flat part of her palm and pushed at Vit's shoulder to get him away from her.
What Vit had to say about Mali though, did help her feel better. She was going to take the offer no matter what, time to decide or now. There wasn't a chance Mali wouldn't have followed her. So, why beat herself up about it so much?
"You do have a point. Mali thinks I'm the stubborn one, but really it's him." Mali certainly was a stubborn person, that was why it took him so long to open up to someone else in the Negaverse. It was also true she didn't know too many people with family in the Negaverse. She was lucky to have her brother, and he was lucky to have her.
"Even so, I am worried about Mali. Less so these days though. I know he feels...obligated to stay for me. But, I think recently his friendship with you has made him work harder. I think he's trying to impress you. Which is crazy, I don't think I've ever seen him try to impress anyone before." She wished he would try to impress Cavansite as well, but she was probably just as happy to see him working harder these days than before.

Vit stepped back, allowing the motion for distance. It moved to the side, moving slowly and watching.
"I worry about him too. I can't help to make him feel as if he belongs or fits in. I'm dedicated to the Negaverse. I won't have a life outside of it. It's impossible for me. As a half-youma, I am not able to fully be a man like other officers. My abilities are limited in what I can offer and even so, I have told him I made a vow to the Queen personally. I cannot go against that." It couldn't even if it wanted to, not that it even dreamed of doing such a ridiculous thing. The vow it had made was now its everything. It wanted to be by the Queen's side more than anything now.
"I don't know how long my friendship can help him. I am not the best candidate for these things. I am not the best officer for him to align himself to. It might come to hurt him." It expressed as it moved in and dropped down to swipe its legs under the woman.

"You've met the Queen personally? That's impressive." Nubi couldn't help but be curious about her. The highest ranked General she had met was Hessonite and that had been so brief and she'd felt so sick afterwards she didn't have a chance to have any sort of conversation with her. The whole time she kept her eyes on Vit, moving when he did to keep the distance between them.
"No one should go against something they promised to anyone. I can respect that. I know he might get in trouble later. I'm painfully aware of that." She was worried sick about her brother and what their General might do to him if she knew. If he would only give Cavansite a chance. She had been through a lot with her other subordinates that had her constantly on the edge, worried one of them might leave her again. Mali was already playing with fire by glaring at her every chance he got.
"You've already helped him a lot. We fight less these days. A year or so ago it was all we ever did." She tried to move out of the way when Vit made a sudden sweep for her feet. Heels were a curse though and she stepped a little too awkwardly in the damn thing and her ankle twisted under her. She fell, very ungracefully and cursed very loudly.
"These things are impossible. How can anyone do anything seriously in these things?"

"To be fair, I did not plan to see her. But I am grateful to have been given audience with her." Though it pained it to know that Nubi and others probably didn't think of the many Queens it had met before.
"Do you know why you two have been fighting so much before?" It asked, curious how it was influencing the pair. "Is it because of your dedication to the Negaverse?" And it felt a strong pang of memory of fighting with Bismuthite. A glimmer of a kitchen and loud voices.
It took a deep breath to steel itself..
Nubi fell quickly and it moved over to regard her heels. "It takes practice too. I have never gotten away from here's in my uniform. Maybe try pushing your abilities. Try jumping on narrow ledges, tree limbs, and doing practice rolls. You can even get a pair of heels at home and walk a out to make them familiar." It suggested as it turned to show it also had heels to it's boots.
"Just be glad your hair doesn't drag to the floor and you have a miniskirts too." It offered it's paw to help her back up.
"I believe our heels are similar in height though."

'Nubi let out a sigh when Vit asked about their fighting. There were a lot of things, but it mostly had to do with the Negaverse. He was right about that. "Mali blames me for taking his 'freedom' away. He's never been the 'follows' orders type. I get him into too much trouble I feel." She had never really talked about this to anyone before. It might seem like she had a lot of friend, but in reality they were mostly a bunch of acquaintances. People she had to know or get along with because of work or school. The occasional short-lived fling when she was feeling bored.
She regarded the heels as Vit showed them off. She hadn't really noticed them before. Probably because the height difference didn't make her look that far down before. So, even he had heels? That sucked.
"Another thing, fighting in skirts? Really now." She did know she was lucky her hair was conveniently tied up in her powered form. She had seen other corrupts and the nuisance of their dragging hair.
It was nice that Vit seemed distracted by her talk of heels. It was time she made things a little more serious though. He had talked about playing dirty and a damsel in distress made a nice decoy. As he offered his paw to her she smiled and reached out. She didn't think he had seen her use her magic. It wasn't something she generally used on patrols, sneaking up on some unsuspecting soul and sticking her hand in their chest was enough to down them. And that amazon woman hadn't given her a proper chance to use it.
"You're quite the gentleman, Vitie." She accepted the help up, but kept a firm hold on his paw, as much as possible considering it's size. "Basilisk's Venomous Gaze." Her eyes went from purple to green in an instant and all she had to go was lock her gaze with Vit's, a soft smile on her face.
Hoping that it would disorient him quick enough, she finally let go of his hand, only to take a swing at his face. It was nice that he promised to avoid her's, but she didn't plan on returning that favor. It had been civil but the moment it heard the attack, it decided all bets were off. It's attention was fixated on those green eyes as a wave of heat rolled over him, paling its features with fresh fever before it felt the fist impacting its face.
Dropping Nubi's hand, it recoiled back and jumped away, stumbled a moment, and took a knee to breath a d collect itself. The look it shot Nubi was far from the gentle, kind expression it normally offered her. It was one very familiar with pain, death, and bloodlust.
"That was a mistake. You know playing dirty raises the stakes and I do not like anyone hitting my face." It growled
It would still keep its promise of not hitting her face but now the rest of her was fit for mincing. It summoned the thick saliva from it's glands and then started to kick it's claws as it rose up to its feet.
"You're going to regret that." It moved with clear purpose straight for her before leaping up to land behind her and swipe.
Quote: ✧Bite Worse than Bark: Wolframite has glands in his mouth that allows him to produce poison. With this, he can lick his claws and pass on the effect. It was a dirty move, but Vitie was faster than her and had more lethal weapons to play with. There was no way he didn't expect her to use some sort of trick at some point. This was supposed to be serious for the both of them. Yes, she wanted to learn from him. But she figured she'd learn more if they both got a little more real.
"I'm sorry, well not really. That was just a little revenge for the night Mali's came home with a bruised face. I do love my brother after all. And as much as I like you and know he deserved it, it still pissed me off. But hey, I did avoid your eyes." Well, she avoided his eyes with her first at least. Most people were caught off guard by her magic at first, but she knew it would be easier for him to avoid now that he knew how it worked.
She braced herself for his retaliation. It was unsettling a bit the way he licked those claws. So he was going to use them after all? That was fair. While Vit had a look she had never seen on him before, she looked like she was thoroughly enjoying herself.
"Bring it on Pups, let's see what you can do when you get serious." Nubi was keeping a defensive position, prepared to block and incoming claw. What she wasn't ready for, was the insane leap that Vit could pull off.
She tried to spin around, and all it did was spare her back from his mauling. It caught her right arm instead and the pain was instant. Not just from the slashing but the burn as well. She sucked in a breath and felt her eyes start to water. She was at an advantage in a physical fight against them. Him being a Lieutenant and her being a Senshi. That wasn't going to keep her from trying though.
It was all happening so fast, she competed her spin and brought up one of those pointed heels, hoping to knock him back with a swift kick to his chest.
